Few months ago was my first and only time I purchased something of these guys. My details were passed over to 3rd party companies and I started getting SMS crap on my phone!!!

  • dont buy from these guys, they take forever to send you anything and most of it is junk that you can get off ebay.

  • I've got quite a few good deals from these guys actually. No problems buying from them again. Postage is normal for cheap asian shops. What do you expect for free post on a $2.50 item? ;)

  • Yeah, I agree with ibfragalot above. I bought a couple of torch, battery & charger sets from these guys a few months ago and sure the postage took a full 4 weeks the goods arrived and were exactly as advertised. Very well priced, good quality products and no extra SMSs or emails that I've noticed. Like most things I suppose it's the luck of the draw tho.

This charger lasted me about 6 months before it died, it went pop.

Just let you know that if your 18650 overcharges you could have a very nasty fire on your hands, called "vent with flames". I would only buy quality batteries and chargers in li-ion.
I don't leave them on charge overnight or when I am out of the house. I don't give them to the kids.

Here is a vent with flames. I hope I never meet this dude:

    Good luck.

If you put 30Amp through a lot of things there would be flames!
These chargers are 600mA @4.2V, so less than 1/150th of the power applied to that battery

      • Obviously. That link was just to show what happens when venting, and that the guy was a bit creepy.

Anyway, these batteries will go bang if the battery is overcharged or discharges below a certain point. So if your charger forgets to shut off at around 4.2v, or the trickle charge is too high and you leave it charging overnight, or it shorts internally and the battery discharges too much etc…. well you get the idea. This doesn't happen with eneloops.

Maybe get some good 9v batteries for your smoke detectors too, just in case.

I use an XTAR wp2, running either 500ma or 1000ma, so good for 16340 or 18650 (which at 2400mah will take 6 hours on the 600mah unit).

  • well if this doesn't look shady…

  • I dont have a no-name charger but nonetheless, I never charge Lithium outside of this.

    • doesnt having a bag like that INCREASE the chance of fire? It looks like its going to insulate all the heat inside?

      • Li-ions generally shouldn't get hot when they're being charged. If they do they are bad cells anyway and/or whatever cheap shitty $2.50 charger you bought with a couple of bucks is over-charging them or something. In both those cases, a safe charging bag is probably a good idea.

But for quality cells, charged with quality chargers, safe charging bags are overkill imo. Just charge in an open area and be attentive.

      • the point is not to insulate the heat. It's to prevent the whole thing catching on fire in case of an overcharge or failure in the batteries. The plastics on the charger won't go on fire if there's no air to fuel the reaction.

  • As above i have one of these cheap ass chargers that came with a work light, i don't trust them at all. Ended up buying a nitecore v3 charger which reviews well and the candlepower forums swear by their reliability and safety. Not worth the risk imo.

    • Valid alternative is to buy a cheap charger like this and then run an extension cord outside!

  • How do you get it for$2.50?
It comes up a $9.00+ to me and is available on ebay much cheaper.

    • Hi, KevCol,
You should use the coupon code to get the discount.
After secure checkout, you can find the place to enter the coupon code.

  • Hi Leftdrop,

I tried all the codes with "Tmart1080" giving the best discount but price for a charger and two batteries still was over $9 whereas the batteries sell on ebay for $1.69 and the charger for $3.50 odd. I will buy if the kit is $2.50 but it does not work for me.
Plus I prefer the coupon codes to apply up near the front of the process and often feel threatened when it is close to a PayPal pay and exit point but you are not alone with this setup.

    • Hi, the code is "Tmart1008" not "Tmart1080"

Since the code can be used once per order, if you want to use the 3 codes please place the 3 items in 3 orders separately. Sorry for the inconvenience.

As to the place to enter the code, I know your feeling for I have purchased online too, but now we can't change it.
