  I could buy a decent smartphone with a camera and a free app for this price and it actually does more than just scanning.

    Not to this level of detail. This is a tool for people who want to scan and work with 3d objects in detail. Including CAD, 3d printing etc..

        The lite version is limited to geometry and not material colour (texture).
        Aside from 0.02mm resolution and not 0.01mm from the non-lite the only other difference is aluminium construction in the non-lite.

        I have the non-lite from their indiegogo campaign.
        The resolution is amazing and trust me, phone scanning is a pain and nowhere near this level of detail.

          @Commodore64: I've been considering the non-light but uming and arring across a few different brands. How's the accuracy for imported objects to work with in CAD, I'm more looking for something that I can design parts around?
