CHUWI LarkBox X Mini PC Intel N100 12GB RAM 512GB SSD WiFi6 BT5.2 Win11 US$133.69 (~A$211.11) Delivered @ AliExpress

Credit to @gizmomelb for bringing this to my attention.

Comes with soldered 12GB LPDDR5 RAM + 512GB Sata SSD (single M.2 Slot).

Specs are a little wonky with limited upgradability, and it is not the cheapest N100 around, but I'm happy to risk the AliExpress lottery for a mini PC that has USB-C display out and can also be powered via USB-C PD.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2023

The video is a review of a LarkBox with Ryzen 7 processor instead of N100 😅

  • don't think it can be power via usb c?

    • +1

It says it does in one of the pictures.
In the specs I think the "no PD charge function" means it can't output USB PD.

Robtech, who reviewed it, was told by a viewer that USB-C PD works to power this device. He tested it and then put in a comment in the review.

Just an amendment to the Chuwi Larkbox X review. A viewer informed me to try USB-PD (power delivery via USB-C) and it does indeed work. I tested under load without issue. Not sure why it says in the spec it's not supported.

I think the main reason for people to get this one over a cheaper option is due to its ability to use USB-PD to power it. Rob didn't mention which USB-C power adapter he used to test it though. Could that port only support PD 2.0 and only up to 9V@3A (27W)?

  • do you pay tax upon checkout? sorry never buy from ali

    • Yes. It's already factored into the price I've posted. If you're a new/first-time customer you might get an even better one-off discount, i.e. a "welcome" pricing.

  • What power supply is provided? Usually there is an option to select EU or US at least, I see no such option.

    • The listing is quite vague and only mentions a "1* DC Charger/Cable (19V/3.42A)".

However, I scrolled through the reviews / comments on the AliExpress listing and found this along with a photo:

Fast shipping. product as described Thank You The PC has an EU power supply 100 to 240 volts. It can be used on a 120 volt line with an adapter without any problems. It also has a bracket to attach the PC to the back of the screen

  • Can the RAM be upgraded in these?

      Soldered, so no.

    Here's a similar PC, 8GB 512GB N100 going for a little over AUD$150 if you haven't used up the USD$4 off for every $20 and 23AE10 USD$10 off.
