        • That's what I think too. So i'm curious what he meant by "support and feed child murderers"…

          • -3

@bobbified: Israel… and it isn't just "feeding," it's also financially supporting.

The "feeding" part is referencing the whole "supporting the IDF with free food" campaign they had.

    • +2

How do you feel about the Australian (or any other country) government who provides free housing, food, medical treatment and other benifits to murders and other people society does not want walking around with freedom?

      • -1

Not sure how this is relevant

        • If you're

avoiding Maccas because they support and feed child murderers

Then how are you living in and putting up with any country who does the same for murderers and other people?

Specific McDonald's franchises are doing much less than governments are.

          • @spaceflight: Those people live in confinement? They're being punished.

No idea what you're trying to say

      • sounds like my ex ….

    • sigh no they don't
McDonald's Israel is a separate company that has a master franchise agreement.
It'd be like Burger King in the US being blamed for Hungry Jacks handing out whopper jrs to paedophiles.

      • +2

McDonalds has been a long time supporter of Israel. This is well-known

        • Good for them. They also feed first responders in many countries after natural disasters and other emergency situations.

        • -1

Death of a child with every bite. Gave it up Oct 7.
Besides, it's crap food at stupidly high prices and served with zero care factor, so you're lucky to get what you order 1% of the time, and your hungry an hour later anyway. Absolute waste of money.

          • +3

            @tossapenny:

            Gave it up Oct 7.

Gave it up Oct 7 the date of the Hamas terrorist attack and before Israel had even retaliated. Very telling.

  • +1

Holy hell McDonald's has become so expensive. 65c sauces. 95c for a slice of cheese. $5.75 chicken n cheese

    • +7

Yeah I'm finally going to stop eating it, after buying thousands of meals and spending many thousands of dollars over my life. At least until they come up with a new flavour of something, or have a new video game themed toy, or have another competition like the monopoly one.

    • +4

Add that the Happy Meal toys are now lame and they seem to be permanently rationing tomato sauce. McDonalds used to be choice, now it's just regret. Regret that the food is so below par compared to how it used to be, and regret that the prices are so high that you could have had KFC.

      • +4

You know you've become an adult,
when you start hating on Happy Meals.

    • yet so cheap compared to eating out

    • +1

They must have just updated their loose change menu. Chicken n cheese was $4 last week. McFlurry's have now gone up to $4.50.

      https://mcdonalds.com.au/loose-change-menu

      • Yep no more 2$ small fries, it's now $3.25 😄

      • McFlurry gone up in price and down in size. Good old shrinkflation.

      • chicken n cheese has been around $5.85 for a while here in WA

    • yes no longer a cheap quick feed unless it’s an offer or promo ….

  • Now weigh the patty to see if it is actually a 1/4 pound.

    • +1

the weight is prior to cooking, so no, it won't weigh the same.

  • What about the onion? And most people get a quarter pounder with chee..

    • +2

Want a crisp linen tablecloth with with your ghetto burger, too?

  • What about order 1x Hamburger and then a 1/4 patty?

    • That'd make it a 1.4/4 pounder.

  • +3

How do you order patty and bun on its own on the app?

  • +1

I was hoping for a photo of the McGhetto

    • Yeah I wanted to see how it was packed, do the buns and patty get separate boxes?

  • -1

Add this with the Coles cheese for that 'Maccas @ Home' taste 'sensation'…

  • Bring Back 1990's Prices!!

    • Why not 1950's?

      • +7

I'm all out of shillings and pennies.

    • +1

$4.95 large meals up until mid 2000 was the balls. I remember being outraged when they were 5.50 come GST time.

Also fondly remember Burger King meals being 50c cheaper than their Hungry Jacks counterparts. Like the rival stores on either side of George St.

If this is what it’s come to for the kids to eat cheaply then so be it.

      </getoffmylawn>

      • the rival stores on either side of George St.

Have you seen what's there, instead of the Burger King ?

  • How much is a quarter pounder normally? How much is it to add pickles, onion, cheese?

    • About $8 for a standard burger

      • +1

That's crazy expensive for such a small burger!

  • Cost of living crisis

  • what is the "1:4 patty" ?

    • 🤦‍♂️

    • +1

      4 patties to a pound
Compared to 10 patties to a pound (for your cheeseburger)

    • +12

Patty 1:4. In her was life, and the life was the light of women

      • +6

Its like nobody reads the Book of Ray Kroc anymore

    • +3

1 pound: 4 patties so each is a quarter pound

  • Can you do this on the self serve kios or app?

    • +7

No, it's a special order only which can only be done via the POS registers. You'll have to speak to someone to achieve this hack.

      • +1

        Always a catch

  • Just buy hamburger for $2 instead?

    • way less meat that way.

      • -6

I get ya man, all she wants is more meat

  • Hahaha nice one OP

  • -1

Checkout this $33 burger from McDonald's

  • +3

can i get steamed buns instead

    • +4

      Only in Albany

    • +3

Well, I'm from Utica, and I've never heard anyone asked for them steamed.

      • +5

        It's a regional hack

  • Lmao I love this so much

  • I grab 3 1/4 pounder patty's all the time.. Cost about $7.60.. fills me up for most of the day. Carnivore diet!

    • is there some special trick to order the 1/4" pattys only? just remove everything?

      • +1

        1/4" pattys

I've only ever seen them advertised by weight, not size.

And I don't think McDonald's does sliders either.

      • +3

Nope, I just say quarter pounder Patty's… Screen will have 1:4

But I always go inside and ask for no salt or pepper. That way they have to cook them fresh.

    • I ordered 3 quarter pounder patties with cheese when I got my wisdom teeth out, went down an absolute treat compared to canned spaghetti

  • +1

They'll most likely patch this like they did with the good old hamburger trick. Buy hamburger, add your own cheese and it became a cheeseburger. It was basically a 3 for 1 cheese burger deal back in the days.

    • You’re making it sound like this is a dlc

  • +2

This is why they will start charging for the ketchup and pickles

    • +21

This is ozbargain bud, I'm pretty sure 99% of people don't give a shit about the embarassment it takes to get a bargain

      • +1

        Right on!
It’s never embarrassing to get a bargain!

The store employees should be embarrassed how much profit margin there is and how much manipulating customers to pay more for basic things.

    • +16

It's not about the money. It's about sending a message.

      • Exactly! Fight the power!

      • So, it's a protest purchase ?

    • +7

It's a GHETTO Quarter Pounder, does this really need to be explained further?

    • +4

It's ok mate keep buying the burgers at full price to keep them happy. We'll do our hacks to keep ourselves happy ;)

      • +1

I’ll show you bargain hunters I’ll keep paying full price and the staff will notice how successful I am paying full price at maccas!

    • +10
      • +3

        Good find

      • Haha! Awesome!

        2.5% saving of $50 on a $2k GPU.
But here we have a 50% saving!

    • +1

      Here's a deal

    • It's about sending the message

    • +2

Are you in the middle of a divorce ?

      • Future ex wife works at maccas, so it cuts deep!

    • +3

your saving 3 dollars. wow 3 dollars LOL

So a 35-40% savings is bad?

    • -3

A "Quarter Pounder" does NOT have cheese

That would be a "Quarter Pounder with Cheese" - the clue is very much in the name

      • +2

        McDonalds disagrees

        Quarter Pounder
It's mighty simple, but it works. Take a whole quarter pound* of 100% Aussie beef, then complete the tasty picture with cheese, onions, tangy mustard and pickles. Bet your mouth is watering right now.

    • +1

I bet you're the clown who reported this for illegal/inappropriate. How sad.

      • Hey, Ronald McDonald is a clown too !

    • Hmmm….. 0 bargains posted as per usual, typical generic OzBargain complainer XD

    • If I saw somebody do this I'd high five them and call them a legend

      • Right on!

Fight back on maccas charging $7+ on a burger they often sell “on sale” for $3!

  • +3

Insane amount of upvotes and clicks.
I'd love deals like this to have an option similar to competition posts where instead of "Mark As Entered" it is something like "Mark As Attained" so we can see how many people are acutally going and getting these ghetto burgers.

  • Haha legend. what a fitting username as well

  • +1

How do you do this? When I choose a 1/4 pounder and remove everything but paddy and bun it's stays at 7$

    • You need to speak to someone to order it

      • +8

The savings don't feel as good if you have to speak to someone

        • +1

and then your son or daughter brings their new partner to dinner and it’s the kid you were busting for the hack at the maccas register and they remember you ..

  • Almost as good as the free hamburger (and 10 patty-less buns with sauce) a few years back…
