When too much Knipex is barely enough and you have already spent yourself out over Black Friday, there is this.:
Knipex 'Aligator' water pump pliers, two piece set - 180mm & 250mm
The difference between these and the 'Cobra' pliers is that the Alligators use a slip mechanism to adjust the size and the Cobras use a push button. I think the jaws are the same.
Allegedly down from $146.95

At this rate most ozbargainers will have a tool chest better than the trades they call too come out and fix their plumbing etc

  • I like the ones on the fourth photo.

    Bought! don't know why.

  • I already have 2 alligator pliers so give me a good reason not to buy this one!

  • are these good for ingrown toenails?

    • Torturer: you have 30 seconds to give us the launch codes before we remove your fingernails with these pliers

Me: oh damn did you get that ozbargain deal too?

  • Since this is more for plumbing tools, would it be useful for automotive use? Can't think much of a use apart from pulling hoses and the odd hex nuts. Trying to resist the Ozbargain temptation.
    Price went up now.

    • this is more for plumbing tools

Of course you can use them for anything that a standard plier can't handle.

it would get a decent grip on fasteners, but mar them at the same time.
prefer to use the smooth jaw Pliers Wrench for that (model 86)

      • Listen to this guy

  • $77 for me… Am I doing something wrong ?

    • nope, thats the new price unfortunately.

I have the cobra version as part of my load out on my scaffolding belt, specifically for manipulating the chocks/pins at the end of braces. The angle helps with leverage when banging pins in with a hammer in the other hand.

  • Cheaper than a dentist 😬
