    This or Dell G3223Q?

    • VA vs IPS

VA at this price? No thank you.

        • Username something something

G3223Q!!! (unless you need USB-C and prefers VA)

      VA vs IPS
      USB-C charging vs none
Ergonomic stand vs normal stand (tbh most will use their own mount)
And this one is 200 more expensive iirc

This one likely will work whereas there's a good chance the Dell won't

  • Any deals on a matching RTX 4090?

Hey, I ordered it last month and the box says IPS. Check this out: https://youtube.com/shorts/f8GCzGKiXok?feature=share

Interesting I looked up the model on JB and it says VA on there too. Is there anything in the monitor settings or Windows that indicates the actual display type?

      • +1

I have no idea. Please let me know if you get to know as well. Happy to check. Someone said its just by touching the display that I can tell the difference.

  • Will USB-C work for display and charging on any old laptop with USB-C or you need a special kind of port? I have a Thinkpad T470S, has USB-C but not sure it can be used for display and charging…

It requires a special kind of port it will be mentioned in the laptops manual. If it only mentions data transfer when it mentions USB-C that's all it will be able to do usually.

      • Checked the manual, apparently it can do that, nice. Really gotta think about whether to get this monitor then, I guess the only downside is VA.

        • If you just need 32 inch 4k probably a lot cheaper USB-C models you can go for I assume you won't be gaming at 144hz 4k on the Thinkpad. Unless it's to use it for another PC as well the laptop?

          • @lookingforadeal7: I use it for PC as well, but won't be gaming on that at 4K. I am planning to game with PS4 though, maybe PS5 later on.

I edit photos on my PC (hobbiest only) so I'm a bit worried about colour on VA, although my current IPS panel (shitty Viewsonic 27") the reds come out really oversaturated and it doesn't seem to bother me when I edit photos (bothers me elsewhere though!). But that also says to me maybe IPS aren't that great anyway? Really confused about the whole IPS vs VA thing.
