Register for Free 8-Week Learn-to-Swim Program for Adults (ACT, NT Excluded) @ Allianz Swim Club

2950

We invite adults who don’t know how to swim to register for our free 8-week swimming program.

The program will commence on 12 February 2024.

We’re kicking off Allianz Swim Club with 1,000 participants, in 20 pools across 6 states.

Terms and conditions

Allianz Swim Club opens for registration at 12.00 PM AEST on Thursday 30 November 2023 and closes at 11.59 PM AEST on Friday 12 January 2024. To be eligible to participate, you must declare you’re a non-swimmer: an absolute beginner who’s never had swimming lessons and can’t swim. Allianz Swim Club has a capacity limit of up to 1,000 swimmers and is unreserved (first-come-first-served). It’s available to all Australian citizens and non-citizens who are over the age of 18.

Allianz Swim Club is limited to 8 lessons across 8 weeks which will take place between February and April 2024. Depending on your state and/or pool, your start date and lesson times and/or schedule may differ.
The Allianz Swim Club voucher is non-transferrable, can’t be exchanged for cash and is only redeemable at one of 20 selected pools across 6 states, including New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia. All Allianz Swim Club vouchers expire at 11.59 PM AEST on 10 February 2024. Once vouchers are redeemed at one of the selected 20 selected pools, swimmers are subject to that pool’s rules, regulations, and code of conduct.

Feels like all regional clubs location for me. Vic

    • +5

      Brimbank, Sunshine and Maribyrnong.

      • Not even one in the NT. What is wrong with the NT? It is almost always excluded from anything free.
Do the providers think the NT people do not deserve anything good and free?

      • All booked

    • second that. just couple in inner west but nothing much.

  • How quick did people receive an email after submitting?

    • Haven't got anything yet (About 10 mins now), Did you ?

      • +1

Nah, i went to try again in case i entered the email wrong. One of the check boxes is that you give permission for the pool to contact you. I'm assuming they will contact the successful submissions when they're open next.

        • Same with me, no email received.

    • Still nothing for me. Applied about 10 minutes ago

      • Dipping your toe in is the hardest part. So, congratulations on registering your interest in joining the Allianz Swim Club. Please check your email for the next steps.

    • Get a waterproof pouch and hang around your neck when swimming.

      • -1

Only if it was safe to walk with that on the street

        • It is u spastic

          • @AndrewMTG: No spastic is what I am running away from

            • @abs898: bro sunshine is fine. Frankston is worse adlay

              • @AndrewMTG: Sunshine is fine in general but it's still got a few more cookers than many other suburbs. I remember last year an older lady got mugged inside Brimbank swimming complex. Poor woman got bag snatched at the cs area by some scumbags. So you can mugged and get free lessons, a value add.

  • Nice. Tried to register a family member last time and it was completely ozbargained. Looks like I hopefully made it this time.

    • 50 spots per pool so the chance was/is very low + was advertised everywhere last time

  • Thanks mate

  • Thank you very much OP! This is going to be super useful if I manage to get in. And did anyone receive a confirmation email after registering your interest?

    • +1

      No nothing yet

  • +2

Got declined last time. See this time

  • Thanks, registered.

    Next stop, the dead sea

  • Is NT dry?

    • Would make sense to offer in the NT. Would learn to swim fast with the crocs!

      • +1

That's why they didn't offer in NT. Even coaches can't beat them, crocs !

  • +1

Registration done but didn't receive any emails?

    • +1

It's an expression of interest. They will notify you if you were successful.

      • It's an expression of interest.

It's a data harvesting scheme more than anything else.

  • +2

    ACT also excluded

    • +3

      Swimming is a state thing.

      • Absolutely, swimming is done in the liquid state of 2HO½ and not in solid state.

    • +1

No water there. It's land locked. 😅

    • That’s because swimming comes naturally after your fifteenth line of coke

  • Eff NT gang gang

  • I have blocked nose all the time due to allergies and I can't exhale and blow bubbles comfortably underwater. God help me

    • I use my mouth

    • Have you tried snorkeling 🤿 ?

      • What happens if the Indonesian built ferry filled with asbestos is sinking, do they have a snorkeling set stowed underneath the seat?

    • I've seen Olympic level swimmers go full mouth breathing because they have the nose clip. I'm sure everyone has their own reason they do it that way but my point is it's possible!

    • Backstroke and some other styles don't require your face in the water. Or snorkel 100%

  • +1

I absolutely do not know how to swim in like 3 feets of water…evertimes my toes touches the water ..my wife sware i am gonna drown..one time she almost asked strangers to help her drag me out of like 1 feet of water on the shore..and i still registered..what are the odds i get selected

    • +4

Odds of getting selected for the program, pretty high if you register quickly.

Odds of natural selection… probably also pretty high if you keep trying to swim.

  • +1

Thank you for this. Almost impossible to get swim lessons for an adult male these days

    • +8

Other than at almost every pool …

  • Thanks, OP. Let's see if I get accepted.

  • Hmm so if I can freestyle but not breaststroke does that count?

    • +11

no please leave it for the ones who really can't swim or float

      • or float ?!

        • floating on back. anything better than drowning

    • +2

Similar thoughts. I would like to learn to tread for 30 minutes in case my boat sinks in the middle of the ocean. It'll give me ample time to die with hypothermia or become shark's food, at least I won't die by drowning.

      • if the only thing i learn is treading water, then thats a big win

    • I've registered as well because I don't know how to do freestyle and backstroke. Unfortunately I can't swim like Michael Phelps, only can free dive to a depth of 20 metres.

  • +4

Thx op. I need to learn for my kids.

declare you’re a non-swimmer: an absolute beginner who’s never had swimming lessons and can’t swim.

do "lessons" back in grade 5 count? cos i still cant swim for shit

  • +2

People should learn how to swim even if they don't get this freebie. Safety aside, there are so many awesome experiences to be had in the form of water sports, snorkelling, etc.

My Mum is just finishing her Allianz swim program this weekend, from the last time this was offered. Can confirm that she has learnt so much and has gained so much confidence in the water (following a traumatic pool experience as a child). The instructors are wonderful, and patient, and they really take the time to make sure you're comfortable and safe.

Would recommend this program to everybody!

    • Was the traumatic experience getting thrown in to the pool as a baby because they're meant to just know/learn it? I was always sceptical of that teaching method

If not, excuse my curiosity and keep it a secret. Glad she's had such a worthwhile experience with the lessons

sound like good program but the closest one for us in Melb east abt 40 mins away.

  • Im glad that they include non-citizens. Too much hatred for people who are fresh off on a new continent yet somehow are the villains in pretty much all political debates.

  • bruh is this like luck of the draw type shit? what if i wana pay for an 8 week course how much would it be?

  • +1

I've been selected, just received my email

Congratulations - you’re officially part of Allianz Swim Club.

Swim Club classes will be kicking off on 12 February 2024 and your voucher will expire on 10 February 2024.

    • I received one as well but it only works to book for first lession? this is 8-weeks program, will they send us more code?

      • I got that email aswell but dont know what the available date options are?

        Is there weekday option?

There was a link but I think that was for email

      • I believe it's just 1 code to start all 8 Lessons for 8 Week.

        • Any idea what days of the week are available ?

          • @ATTS: For that we have to email or ring the respective swim center.

  • Just got my email ! Thanks OP

  • Got my email. Thank you OP

  • majority centres are full :-(

  • Thank you so for registering your interest in Allianz Swim Club. Unfortunately, we cannot offer you a spot in the program at this time as we’ve allocated all the places at your chosen pool.

Don’t worry though, you’ll automatically be waitlisted for when future lessons are available, and we’ll be in touch to offer you early access.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t start your swim journey – why not check out pools in your local area to see if they run any learn to swim programs!

    Thank you,

    Allianz Swim Club

  • Anything for NSW Sydney region?

  • anyone get into the Sutherland program? I submitted at 830pm on 30th Nov and thought I'd be a sure thing, but didn't get a single email.

    • Same. The person managing the program im sutherland could possibly be on leave.
