Allpowers R600 Beige portable power station. This is the v2 of the R600 which reviews well. eBay may only show 5 available but they keep topping up that number. Comes with 30 day free returns and 5 year warranty.

  • Anyone have thoughts on whether this has 5yrs or 2yrs warranty as specs say only 2yrs, but picture shows 5yrs?

When sold through the Amazon listing they have 5yrs both in picture and written in theyr listing details.

    • +1

      Allpowers website says 5 years.

      • Yeah sure through that channel,……
        but eBay ???

  • They’re still adding one every now and then. Not sure useful 299Wh is in real life but there’s not really anything else at this price point

    • Pretty easy to test with some lamps. Old style incandescent light bulbs would be good if you still have any.
299Wh is literally 299 watts for one hour so grab your self a reasonable load and a stopwatch.
100w should be 3 hours etc

    • +1

Berry useful for many, just look at how many people now use a power bank. Sure, not so pocket friendly or mobile, but much more powerful and more features, especially for those who love venturing into the outdoors.

  • I didn't need one or wanted one. Just so many active comments and OBZ peeps tried to purchase but missing out and made me wanna get one =) So i snagged one up.

If let's say i was going camping needed a heater, this link

How long will it last if used continuously?

    • +1

Just under half an hour on high

    • +1

Not for long, likely less than 30min at 500w.

If you don’t count RVs with $5000+ battery systems, it’ll be quite a while before any of these portable power stations can replace a campfire

More realistic to run an electric blanket off one of these

  • +1

Literally just got one; saw "buy now" clicked on it and it said out of stock and minutes later it said 1 available.

Always wanted to get something like this to power my basic astrophotography rig and couldn't say no at this price!

  • +2

Thanks OP, managed to grab one too.
Also, anyone planning to go off grid, their 100w Foldable panels going for $99 in Amazon
    Perfect starter kits.

    • dang got the 40w ones on Ebay for $60.

    • +1

Thanks. Bought the one on Amazon - 4-5 weeks delivery though.

    • This works well for the low price. Unless you get a super expensive brand name panel, most won't last

too many years with sun, wind and packing up/unpacking etc. Just need to remove the battery clamps

and connect to a XT-60 connector or MC-4 which this uses for solar input, and as the power bank has a intergrated

solar charge controller, can connect directly. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/394943694317

  • +3

Price is back to $399 now
(And no stock as I type this)

  • +3

10 in stock, and yes discount was valid only until 11:30pm last night.

Has anyone's order been shipped yet?

    • Not sent yet

    • +2

I just received confirmation of it being shipped

      • Me too although no tracking number

        • What was the number sold when you got it? Mine was 40-45 iirc and hasn't shipped yet.

        • I got the "Its on its way" official eBay email last night, with tracking number. But today that tracking number doesn't work and the item has gone back to "awaiting postage".

    • +1

I ordered 2, one very early shortly after the deal was posted, and a second the next day. The later order shipped, but the earlier order still hasn't. Weird

      • My earlier order shipped yesterday afternoon - no tracking number for it yet.

  • Does this do UPS style cut over or is it manual start?

    • +1

      Yes UPS, continuous supply

  • +1

I sent them a message about when it will ship and they replied

Our delivery system is temporarily out of order and is being repaired, please wait

Then 10 mins later marked as shipped but with no tracking number. Sounds like they don't have stock and waiting for it is how I read this.

    • +1

Yeah, similar happened to me yesrerday. Messaged them asking nicely if they could send it out, then hour

later marked as sent, but looks like just tracking number provided and possibly still Not sent as still not marked

as in transit. Checked listing, in stock again with delivery expected 8th-12th Dec (for S.E.Q.), but back to $399.

Oh well, let's see when it arrives. Glad to see they are honouring the sale at that price at least.

    • +1

Now mine is actually marked as posted, hooray.

  • +2

Mine sent out today, (well, tracking number provided anyway), and supposed to get to me by Monday in S.E.Q.

  • +1

    got my tracking number

  • +1

Got a tracking number, looked it up and it says "Parcel Post"
Before I got the tracking number it said it was shipped as Express Post
Still says it will be delivered by tomorrow (yeah right…)

  • +2

They gave my a tracking number after having to chase it up with them. Their responses were minimal effort.

Tracking number doesn't have any scans, wouldn't be surprised if some of us have the same tracking number tbh and they are stalling sending them out because they don't have stock. It's annoying they were not sent out in the order orders were placed - who does that?

    • +1

I finally got a tracking number that also says it has been picked up. It doesn't say where it is going, so we could all have the same/similar tracking numbers. My initial eBay ETA was 6/12-8/12 (purchased on 1/12) and my purchase was meant to include free express postage. Now with Australia Post my ETA is 14/12-19/12. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

      • Mine says its from "From Online Seller, VIC" Though item listed in Rhodes, NSW.
        13th - 18th December for my one.

      • Mine has a new update.

8-11 Dec. Tracking number ending in 75 short tracking version number or 309 long version

        • +1

my tracking number (to northern suburbs of Melbourne) ALSO has a tracking number ending in 309. I mean, what are the chances !!

I'm not expecting to receive this unit when initially claimed, but I don't "need" it until Christmas

          • @shmahoo: Note - I have discussed with cute as duck and we do have slightly different tracking numbers

    • +2

I was a late buyer and my tracking is moving - has two scans so far.
Definitely not Express Post but its slowly coming. Maybe they sent them out in reverse order received?

      • Possibly split the orders in blocks amongst different staff, and some work quicker than others. Or someone starts at order 1, another at 20, 40 etc, would cause #20 or 40 to get sent before say #8 if each is working through their own list. Mine was estimated 6/12, ebay tracking says posted 5/12, tracking stuck at In Transit, not even at Out for Delivery yet. Not too fussed, as long as it gets here before Returns Accepted date 5/01

  • +4

Got mine today. Its a pretty good looking unit. Also Bluetooth took me a while to find out because its not in the book. You will need to press and hold the DC output button to turn on bluetooth mode

    • +1

what does bluetooth mode do on this unit?

      • +4

You can adjust the 240V charging speed from slow to normal to fast, think it's 200W/300W/400W.

Does a few other things but forgot as have not used it and tested it out 3 months ago when got the

first one of Amazon lol. Keep in mind fast/400W charging will reduce the lifespan of the battery,

especiall on hot days or using pass-through charging (think it is capable).

  • Still waiting for mine, looks like stuck in processing centre (wherever that is, N.S.W. ?) since Wednesday.

Tracking number long ends in 305 and post office app expected date now moved up to Tue 12th.-Friday 15th.

  • Bought on the 3rd - deliver this morning from NSW.

  • +2

Got it today and I am surprised with the USB-C 100W ports they are upgraded to include new fast charging protocols like Samsung's PPS super fast charging not sure about iPhone.

For $199 ($0.66 cents per Wh) using LifePO4 battery chemistry with 600w inverter that can fast charge up to 400w from the wall and the features it's unbeatable for an all in one power station in the market in Australia.

  • Got mine. I can't get the BT app to connect. Any tips? The app just shows "no device found, click on the above icon to search again". But there is no icon and it just goes straight there without any kind of delay like it's searching. This is on android 14.
Edit hmmmm. it works just fine using an old android device Android 9 IIRC.

Edit 2 the app is a pos. It forces you to login using only your social media account credentials, if you want to change any settings. I mean for 200 bux it ok. But I'd be spewing if I paid 399 for this crap app experience.

Edit 3. Got the app working on android 14. I had to manually allow some permissions because the app never asked for them like a normal app does. It still won't let me login. I tried my Facebook account and it says the app is not enabled. So I can't even adjust the settings on the device I bought.

Does anyone know what the default AC charge rate is set to?

  • +1

Recieved mine today. Arrived with 68% charge and when I try to charge via AC plug it begins to charge at 104W for a few seconds, then makes a click, then beeps 8 times and reports an E2 error. There is no mention of this error in the manual. Any one else have this issue?

    • +2

The click is sounds like some protection relay or device tripping. You need to speak to CS and see if you can get a replacement
EDIT - when I looked at the online manual E2 is USB over-current error.
If you dont have anything plugged into USB its a faulty unit

      • +1

Thanks for your feedback. The unit is most definitely faulty. Nothing has been plugged into a USB port. Further to the above, I attempted to run the battery down so that I could attempt a full charge cycle. I connected a small tv. It ran for about 5 minutes before shutting down. Now it will not turn on at all and no sign of life when I plug it in to mains power.

    • +3

Yep I have the same issue, fails as soon as it tries to charge via AC.

The full error code for me is E207 (it'll alternate between E2 and 07 as the code display is only 2 characters long), and I can only find one other occurrence of someone reporting this issue online, with no solution.

I've contacted the seller, will see what they respond with during the week :/

      • Thanks Konakona, you are quite correct. My error code is also E207. I did not realise it was a scrolling display. I found this video on Reddit which shows the exact issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/allpowerssolar/s/FYzZHIa90n

        • +1

Please let us know the resolution with this - I hope for you that they replace it, rather than refund

          • +2

@King Tightarse: No problem. I will be pushing for a replacement. I really like the size and weight but the main reason I got this model (apart from the price) is the UPS feature which I intend on using with my CPAP machine. I live in regional QLD and we have a lot of scheduled power outages for Energex doing upgrade works.

            • @aldroid: How did you go with a replacement?

              • +1

@King Tightarse: Seller has agreed to replace it, however they do not have stock of the beige and they have asked if I would like the black instead. I have refused the black and told them I am happy to wait until they get more stock. My understanding is that the beige is a newer model (V2) and had a few enhancements, one of them being a quieter fan. Since I intend on using it with my CPAP machine, low fan noise is important. I also have the Voltx 1500W battery and when the fans come on (which is very regularly) it sounds like a jet aircraft taking off.

                • @aldroid: They told me the same thing despite the beige listing still being available on their store 🙄 Actually wanted that colour in particular so I've also been pushing back, they've tried 3 times now to give me a black one instead.

Although seeing how many people here are running into the same issue, maybe I should just ask for a refund.

                  • @konakona: Yes, they have been very pushy about replacing with the black but I am standing my ground as I need something with quiet fans. I told them I do not need it urgently and am happy to wait until new stock arrives. We'll see what happens. If I didn't care about the fan noise issue I would definitely take the black over a refund. For $199 you won't find anything else that comes close.

                    • @aldroid: Weirdly enough, I just received a new beige unit today, all the while their eBay account has still been trying to convince me to take a black one, with their latest reply claiming "The performance of black is also very superior".

                      But guess what? E207 again..

The new unit is at least able to charge for a while before the error, whereas my first unit would fail immediately. I managed to charge it from the 70% it arrived at to 90%, and it errored out 3 times during it. Guess I'm going back to the seller and asking for a refund this time. $199 is cheap for sure, but not if they can't even guarantee the unit works properly :(

                      • @konakona: Wow that's disappointing - makes me a bit nervous too as I have this unit.
Did you find the exact meaning of code E207?

                      • @konakona: Damn, that's not good. Apparently the black supports faster charging via solar and has a couple of extra ports that the beige doesn't have. But loud fan noise which is the deal breaker for me.

                      • +1

@konakona: Yeah weird alright. I unexpectedly received my replacement beige model this morning despite them telling me they didn't have stock. It is currently charging. Up from 70% (out of the box) to currently 96%. Charging started at ~300W and has now tapered off to ~90W for final charge. No issues thus far. If it completes to 100% I will perform a full drain and recharge cycle and report back.

                      • @konakona: UPDATE: The unit charged to 99% then beeped 8 times and displayed the E207 code again. Interestingly the unit was still responsive with the buttons and via the Bluetooth app. So hopefully that is normal behaviour and the E207 indicates charging is complete. Can anyone else confirm that this happens to their unit? I will now discharge and recharge and see if it happens again.

                        • @aldroid: This doesn't happen to mine, it charges to 99%, sits there for a while and then tops off to 100%

                          • +1

@S3ISOR: Thanks. My replacement model is also faulty then. I just tried UPS mode, which is the reason I wanted this model, and it instantly fails to with the E207 error again.

                      • +1

@konakona: UPDATE 2: after leaving it unplugged for a few hours I decided to plug it in again and it is now charging again. Lets see if it makes it to 100% this time.

      • +1

Same here just tried it the first time today and same error message.

      • Another one checking in with an E207 fault. I have the Ecoflow River version of this (this seems to be the Chinese knock-off) and basically used this as a backup for our fridge when the sun wasn't shining at our caravan park. I had to take it to camp kitchen a couple of times to top up and got this error. It charged fine at home on mains prior to the trip. It seems intermittent as I was able to charge a couple of times on mains whilst camping. But when the Ecoflow ran low, I went to swap it out for this and discovered it hadn't charged, very frustrating. Never received the error whilst solar charging, only mains.

        • +1

That's interesting - I wonder if the problem emanate from China being 220v, not 240v like Australia?
Its only ~10% difference but you never know how these are set up

        • That is interesting. I should see if I still get the error when charging via cigarette lighter DC or solar panel. The other possibility I thought of is that it could be an overheating issue. Since the beige model has quieter fans perhaps they aren't able to move enough air to cool sufficiently. But to be honest I think this is a quality control issue. The eBay seller probably got them çheap from China because they didn't pass quality control and decided to take the chance.

    • +3

I was going to leave mine wrapped under the Christmas tree as a gift but this experience makes me think I'll open it and give it a test run

  • +1

Watch out when you unplug this thing from the mains. Don't touch the pins of the mains plug at the house end or you will get a little zap.

    • +1

Probably some power smoothing caps discharging but indicates inherent design flaws

  • +4

I gave mine a full run down today using the UPS function to run my NBN, router wifi and NAS setup.

It provided 55W of AC power for 4.5 hours. So thats 250W/hr from the AC inverter output.

So I'm pretty happy that its being advertised about right at 299W/hr, considering the losses for the AC conversion. I assume to get the full 299W/hr you would have to pull it all directly from the 12V output so there are no conversion losses etc.

This is on the first cycle too, so it may actually improve after a few cycles.

    • +2

There's conversion loss on both sides, it doesn't really matter who you go for. Most of these store at either 24v or 32v for some unknown reason.

    • Can you report on the real world experience of fan/unit noise?

      • +3

Its quiet for me. I believe it defaults to 300W charging mode, I have not tried the 400W mode. The fan supposedly ramps up if you charge at higher rates. There is a decent amount of heat being expelled when its charging.

For load I only ran a 50W load so it was silent running that in UPS mode.

  • +1

My one arrived - will have a look tonight

  • my arrived with 68% charge, all working up till around 50%, sat on my pc this afternoon all battery depleted, dont know what happened, now charging with 0%…

    • +1

So for clarity, you had your PC plugged into this as the main power source all afternoon?
Well you only have 300 watt hours, so the question is how much does you set up draw?
There is every chance you use it all up normally. Or are you saying it was fine down to 50% and then just dropped away to zero?

      • +1

Even then it was holing a "storage charge" and the user decided to immediately full load it up without charging.

There is a reason they tell you to fully charge the device before using it the first time. That original 68% wasn't really 68%, it was what the BMS decided the charge was after however long its been sat in storage. It needs a few good full cycles before that % figure is properly calibrated.

Even one cycle is usually enough to get close, but zero cycles is not something that can be used to determine anything about the state of the battery.

  • sorry to clarify the power station was not in use and just sat on my pc not plugin, previously I was using it for wireless charging for my phone, and yes it depleted down to 0% for unknown reason, couldn't even turn on the display, so bit skechy, so far its charging fine working normal for now..

    • Oh I see, so another probable failed unit. Sorry to hear that.
Please let us know the resolution

    • +1

Is it holding charge better now?

  • Well, mine still hasn't arrived!

    • Have you got it yet? As long as you get a good one is what counts, but soo.too.

      • 23/12 and I still don't have it. The seller has tried to follow up with Australia Post but no luck yet. I can see the customer enquiry on tracking Australia post but that's about it, no follow up on anything yet.

        • +1

Oh, that's bad luck. Sounds like a postal misshap, that happens. Hope you get it next week.

          • +2

@ozhunter68: I actually got an SMS, it's coming today.

            • @lansalot: Wow, super unexpected. Don't think that would be Australia Post then?

              • +2

@ozhunter68: I finally got it, charged it to 100% and drained a few times testing stuff. No issues this far.

I'm really impressed with how quiet this unit is.

                • @lansalot: Like I said, I was pretty happy and impressed with my V1 R600 from Amazon for $349 and even more for this V2 for $199. Sounds like yours is working normally as designed like mine. Some people on here have reported a faulty unit. All brands of tech have some failures, especially anything with arechargable battery.
                  Enjoy your unit

  • +2

It’s holding charge, so I guess it was a false alarm of my part, should have give it some juice right out of the box on hindsight
