Thank you OP, was looking for something like that to re-port out and back in to Boost. May stick with Optus network for the whole 3 month if works OK.

    • What's the deal with Boost's popularity? I actually tried once and literally could not get a new sim/plan to port, dropped that then tried to activate same plan with a new number, spent many hrs with support and then gave up, vowed to never again (on consideration that last wld have been my 3rd attempt).

The deal with Boost's popularity is that you get paid to use them.

  • I am with Amaysim, and my partner is with Coles. Would either of us able to port out and port back into Coles and Amaysim with this one?

  • Work for Apple Watch?

    • They do not have eSIM. So, unfortunately no.

  • By new customers only do they mean u can only activate 1 of these on your account? I assume when u activate a second sim they would say you aren’t new as your already have an account.

      @Be careful
I do this fairly regularly and haven't had a problem adding to existing account.

Who knows when they may change the rules.
[ pretty inexpensive deal so maybe worth the risk imho]

Phone companies all seem to use "new customer" as meaning new Sim activation and not a recharge of an existing sim. Mostly if you meet that criteria then you are a "new customer". Yes it is confusing, as you can be an old, existing and new customer all at the same time. Not sure when the marketing depts of these companies are going to wake up to the fact that they are losing customers because of this confusing use of the term "new customer". Many would come to the conclusion that they are not a new customer and move on.

      • FYI have been going back and forth each month for my wife's phone between Boost and Kogan. Had a slight issue with porting into Kogan last time because they apparently consider a new customer someone who hasn't had an acciunt within last 30 days. Customer service rep overrode it for me but not sure i can keep doing that

Might need to get another provider into the rotation!

Forgive my ignorance but on earth is sim slitting?

      *slutting

Constantly moving carrier to carrier to pay the cheapest price. You get a Boost SIM for $15 with $22 cash back so you profit. Then you need to move somewhere before going back to Boost for more profit. This can be your somewhere between boost. Though Optus Flex $1 for 1 day used to be good too

        • So Optus Flex is no more? Where do you normally go to before going back to Boost? i used to go between Catch and Kogan but that was some time ago now. I'm currently on a Telstra points deal with Belong but need to find somewhere soon to transfer to. Was planning on starting with Boost and then not sure where to go to after that.

It’s a process of transferring between SIM providers to take advantage of “New Customers Only” promo.

You might wanna read this old thread.

      • Again misleading use of term "new customer" and "promo". You are still eligible for promo if you have an existing sim with same provider and you go and buy this "promo". Everyone who buys and activates a new Sim is eligible for the "new customer promo". So it is neither exclusive to new customers or a promo. At least this applies to Boost. I have gone through this actual process and provided feedback to boost who have finally agreed they should consider changing the marketing blurb.
I assume the same applies to other providers.

      • Thanks, makes sense. Amaysim sent me an email last month telling me I've used about 7gb of data in the 7 years I've been with them . Just checked and I have over 700gb of data banked. Feel like this process might not be for me.

        • +1

Why not? Sounds like you're currently on a plan with more data than you need. In other words probably paying too much.

Hey mate, thanks for asking that. It was a new term for me, too.

Himm, mobile plan deal w/o profit, very interesting!

  • Activate SIM within 90 days of purchase, or by the date advertised in a promotion, whichever is earlier, to receive advertised inclusions.

Does "advertised inclusions" mean 20GB/month and unlimited calls and texts?
If so, does "the date advertised in a promotion" mean 12/12/2023?

    • +1

Looks like 20gb for the 90 days

      • Oh yes, 20GB over the 90 days.

But does the SIM have to be activated within 90 days (or by 12/12/2023?) to get that?

        • +1

          Also says this:

"Activate SIM within 30 days of purchase to receive advertised inclusions."

The sale price ends 12/12/23, when presumably it will return to $40.

    Don’t slut shame my SIM

    • +1

Not my fault your SIM is sluttier than mine

  • My Amaysim is expiring in on 14Dec.
Whats the best 365days plan currently around $100?

  • Good deal for 90 days, options for roaming are not good.

  • Heads up - I just bought one early on the 13th, still live.
