  • Asking the forbidden question. This or PS5?

    • +9

Well, they are absolutely two different things. If you have enough budget, of course PS5 or an Xbox Series X is a better choice.

On the other hand, Xbox series S is an entirely different thing. It is usually recommended for the people who:

      • have already PS5 or a gaming pc
      • have heaps of MS points so they can get game pass for free every month
      • want to play just a few games or free-2-play games
      • want to spend minimum amount of money
      • want to emulate old games

have already PS5 or a gaming pc

        • Game Pass
        • Kids
        • Call of Duty
      • gta vi?

        • What about it?

        • If you're looking for something just to play GTA VI ….. I'd probably hold off a little while longer. You've got time.

Heard that GTA6 will be exclusive on PS

        • +2

I am 99% sure GTA VI will work on Series S without a big issue because Rockstar is great at optimising their games for consoles.

For example, I played GTA V on PS3 a decade ago without a problem.

It's great for the kids so they don't use my CyberPunk rig.. I mean desktop PC.

      • Can you still emulate old games? I thought they blocked it

    • +1

      PS5 for sure, mate

  • Lost Odyssey machine

  • IF Xbox one still works fine, any reasons to get this?

    • No

      • That's not true, I can install and play Gotham Knights on PC, XSX XSS, on XB1, it is streaming only.

Streaming works fine on home network (for me, imho), not so much on the internet

    • +1

No different to any other change in console generation. If you want to keep playing newly released games, you need a new console (unless you’re happy streaming games).

My Sega Saturn still works fine, doesn’t mean it’s a replacement for a Xbox Series.

      • Even if you are happy to stream them, some come with reduced functionality (i.e. Forza needs a controller not a wheel when streaming).)

  • To think the PS5 recently went for $506 with Spiderman 2…

    • Where?

      • Search. It’s the first result for PlayStation 5.

I don’t we’ll see that again anytime soon but.

    • Not to mention the Xbox series x for $509-ish as well

  • Good for Retro Emulation 👍

The new one has 1TB :) .. but going by latest high end released titles.. the graphics suck on the S vs X .. even the xbox one X has some better QTY graphics
