The only thing I'm buying in this sale is this Baton 4 EDC light. I'm upgrading from my Nitecore Tini2 to this thing. It's heavier and bulkier but I will just carry the torch and put the case in my backpack. The rest of the items listed here are things I bought during the last sale or things that I think others may be interested in.

Olight Baton 4 Premium Edition Rechargeable EDC Torch With Wireless Charging Case $108.46 (RRP: $154.95)

Taken from the website:

  • Small yet Powerful Light: The Baton 4 delivers 1,300 lumens and has a beam distance of 170 meters. It's compact and high-performing, perfect for everyday carry.
  • Higher-capacity Battery: The charging case is equipped with a powerful 5000mAh battery, providing the Baton 4 with up to 190 days of runtime. With its universal Type-C port, you can easily charge the case or use it as a power bank to charge your mobile devices.
  • Command with the Case: Users can utilize the display button on the case to fully control the flashlight without needing to retrieve it.
  • One Case for Five Lights: The case is fully compatible with Baton 4 and Baton 3 and supports storing and charging the S1R II, Perun Mini, and Perun 2 Mini.
  • Reliable safety lanyard: It comes with a secure safety lanyard to prevent accidental drops and ensure product safety.

Olight Olantern Music Rechargeable Camping Musical Lantern Speaker $149.96 (RRP: $199.95)

I'm considering buying this instead of the JBL Speaker, just because I'd use the lamp / lantern when going camping / hunting.. but this is low on my priority list..

  • Light and Stereo 2-in-1 Design: It combines a camping light with a high-quality stereo, allowing you to light up your campsite while enjoying your favorite tunes. Make your camping unforgettable!
  • TWS Mode: By enabling the left and right speakers to work together wirelessly as a stereo pair, TWS mode produces a more realistic and engaging audio experience. The ultimate way to immerse yourself in high-quality audio!
  • Broadcasting Mode: This mode allows up to 100 speakers to play the same music simultaneously, while also incorporating dancing lights to add more fun to party time.
  • Retro Style: It adds a touch of nostalgia and charm to your camping experience, reminiscent of a good time from a bygone era.
  • Stepless Dimming Knob: It has both a warm light and white light that features 10-300 lumens with stepless dimming and an even 360-degree light distribution, allowing you to adjust the brightness to your exact liking.
  • Emergency Power Bank: With its built-in 11200mAh battery pack and support for 18W discharging, it can be used as a power bank to charge your mobile devices when you need it most!

Olight Javelot Pro 2 Hunting Kit $253.46 (RRP $389.95)

From the website:

The intense beam and ultra-long throw make the Javelot Pro 2 a perfect long-distance flashlight for hunting, search and rescue, or property perimeter checks! Gear up and get outside with this elite upgrade!

  • Mind-blowing performance: Max 2,500 lumens with an extreme 1050-meter beam distance
  • Multiple applications: The perfect body diameter allowing you to comfortable use handheld or mount on your long-range rifle with the optional dual-stage remote switch.
  • Battery pack: Supersized battery with a consecutive 12-day runtime

Olight Marauder Mini 7000 Lumens RGB LED Torch $194.96 (RRP $345.95)

This is something I am definitely not going to buy. This is a stupid bright flashlight. That's about it. It has red/green/blue and that's pretty bright but, from what I've seen, it's heavy and bulky (understandably).

This would be good for camping, caving, doing other things in the dark where you need light (get your mind out of the gutter), but probably not hunting.

If you're going to get something like this, make sure you don't use it to bother people / neighbors / other campers; seriously.

From the website:

  • Large Battery Capacity: Customized 24Wh 32650 rechargeable lithium battery ensures extended runtime. Now compatible with Olight’s MCC3 magnetic charging cable.
  • Uniformly Distributed RGB Colour LEDs: Three RGB color LEDs are uniformly distributed around the converging lens, making it suitable for use during any occasion.
  • Dual-beam with Spot and Flood: An array of LEDs offers two powerful beam choices: a 600-meter max throw from the central LED’s spotlight beam, or a 7,000-lumen max output floodlight beam from the 9 surrounding LEDs.
  • Safest in its Class: A built-in thermal sensor and cooling fins to ensure safety in case of overheating and lens obstruction.

Otacle A1 Hatchet $92.96 (RRP $123.95)

So I ended up buying this during the last sale. It's SO much better than the crappy Bunnings thing I got.

From the website:

  • Multifunctional: Incorporates a hatchet, a hammer, a pry bar, and a nail puller.
  • Durable Steel: Robust full-tang construction made from tough and durable 50Cr15MoV stainless steel.
  • Comfortable Grip: Ergonomic G10 handle with a non-slip matrix texture ensures an excellent grip.
  • Kydex Sheath: Extremely durable Kydex sheath offers safe storage and transport as well as protection for the blade.
  • Belt Clip: Built-in adjustable belt clip on the sheath allows easy, hands-free transport.

Olight Arkflex Torch with Flexible Head $86.76 (RRP $123.95)

In terms of EDC, this is meant to be 1000 lumens vs the Baton 4 which is 1300 Lumens.

This is the small / thin / flexible light thingo they just created. Here's the stuff from their site that actually matters:

  • 90-Degree Articulating Head: Allows you to flexibly adjust it to a specific angle for precise lighting.
  • Five Brightness Levels + Strobe Mode: The various brightness levels make it suitable for a wide range of applications.

Might be worth checking out their eBay Store after the deal goes live to stack with eBay Coupons (ie. SAVETH for additional $10 off).

    • STACKING!!! Hell yes, thank you!

    • No price change!

      • Might take a while for them to update their eBay store prices.

  • If somebody's wondering what's this fancy new EDC tech, it's meant for your "everyday carry (EDC) kit".

Ie. it's the shitty marketing people trying hard to woo you.

    • +3

Yeah; In the US (and some other countries), EDC is pretty much what they would include as a sidearm, a knife, a light, and a bunch of other "stuff"..

I don't care much for the term "EDC", but I do carry this in my pocket everywhere atm. I do use it.. not every day, but like 40% of the days.. but then, I do a lot of stuff around the house all the time, and I also help out family and stuff..

Would like them to bring in some of the other tools I've seen around. I have their old owhistle but the new one looks good too. Not sure how accurate the compass is though. Wonder how much it would go for. Strange that they don't sell the old one anymore.

  • Olight is similar to 4wd Supa Centre. Barely any break between sales, different bundle deals all the time, and no-one ever pays RRP. They've just been smart enough to introduce the buyer "levels" where you unlock benefits the more you spend with them. Their Facebook group is an odd experience, with people feeling the need to post that they've made an order, show off how much they've spent, post an update when their order is shipped etc.

It does seem to be driven a lot by social media but I don't really get into it much although I have won something through one of their competitions. I do like the loyalty system, but these days you need to get in fast though to get the extra free stuff which isn't ideal. You do need to know what you want to buy in advance. Also, because of the loyalty I do try to buy stuff through their website. Cashback has been quite generous lately though and can be enough to cover any savings that could be made via other coupons (like the eBay one).

I suppose as long as they keep bringing out good stuff and stay true to their word that they now have a lifetime warranty for all of their torches and knives then all the other stuff is of less importance. They do seem to be doing alright so hopefully their future is somewhat secure otherwise their warranty means nothing.

      • I didn't even know there was a lifetime warranty on their products! Thanks for the tip!

          It was changed/introduced recently here.

Obviously some caveats but if they follow through on their promise then that's awesome. Haven't had to deal with any issues yet so haven't had to test their word yet.

          • @ozbs25: Do you mind if I credit you with this find and update the OP?

            • +1

@the-rabs: It's your post, you can do as you like. You don't need to credit me either. 😊

Edit: We can only go by what they are saying really. It's only when you need to use it when we really know if it's true.

    • I don't get the "collectors", buying one of everything in every colour.

Looks in the mirror : I have bought a few things but I do use them, actively. I camp and hunt much.. like every month I'm out there.

I was out on Friday night last week and the bugs were out in plague proportions! I tried using red lights to avoid the bugs but they were still attracted to the light! It made it impossible to hunt.

Anyway, my point is, yeah, lots of weird things around the two brands you mentioned.. I'll continue buying their stuff though because I do find them useful, and no way will I pay RRP, to your point.

I own a few of their products but the only ones I've owned multiple of the same model is the freebies they throw in during sales (i1R 2/Pro, i3E, iTHX, etc) and I usually give them away to mates. The rest has been me looking for or changing up the one I carry daily (currently using an Arkfeld UV).

Some people just like collecting things though I guess which is fine.

        • Yeah, I take back my earlier comment. I shouldn't have said something so negative and I apologise.

I am also a fan of the freebies and yes, they make great gifts! I like the rechargeable options though, because recharging is easier than replacing AAA batteries. Not that the battery models don't make sweet gifts, the rechargeable ones are just better in my opinion.

          • +2

@the-rabs: I'm the same and prefer the rechargeables. By the time the battery needs replacing, I'm usually looking to replace the entire unit with something that has better performance anyway.

  • Where are ppl buying their rechargable18500 batteries from? Are there any preferred trusted stores?

    • Ebay

    • I've always bought NiteCore rechargeable CR123A batteries from eBay.. not sure how genuine they are but I've only ever had one fail..
