Assuming they fill them up correctly to the right height, and fill the cone.

it's worth every penny but sadly not every store has chocolate flavour :(

    • Apparently available nationwide now.

      • Deal available nation wide but small store don't stock chocolate flavour.

        • Ah, thought they'd just recently rolled out to all stores (including my local that only just got it).

      • No it isn't, not available in 2 out of 5 stores nearby my home

      • +1

I wonder if they jusf pour the chocolate topping into the soft serve machine

  • Can you still buy a serve of M&Ms to go with it?

    • +1

Yeah will add another 80c to $1 to the price

    • +1

They should get bigger ice creams to teach them a lesson.

  • +1

Available on 13th December 2023 at participating restaurants while stocks last. Cannot be used with any other offer. Cannot be distributed or redeemed by children under 15. Excludes McDelivery®. Extra charges may apply for any variations.

    • While stocks last.. all machines break at 12am lol

Just remember that its basically a frozen canola oil emulsion with sugar and chocolate Flavour. Thays what most frozen deserts are.
Not a real ice cream made up of dairy or alike.

    • +2

Thanks for ruining it for me.

    • +5

The ingredients are publicly available. It contains dairy.

      Vanilla Reduced Fat Ice Cream
Ingredients: Milk, Sugar, Cream, Corn Syrup, Natural Flavor, Mono And Diglycerides, Cellulose Gum, Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Vitamin A Palmitate.

Perhaps you were confusing a "canola oil emulsion" with "Mono And Diglycerides", an emulsifier manufactured by the glycerolysis of oils? These are controversial since they may contain from very little to very significant amounts of trans fatty acids, depending on the content of hydrogenated fats in the source oil.

When I was a kid the conspiracy theory was that McDonalds soft serve used pig fat.

    • +2

Did you read this somewhere or cook this up yourself?

    • Ingredients in backupper1's comment: Full of shyte

      • did you even try to find if its really true or not , or you just threw up whatever came in your mind?

    • -1

ingredients on mc Donald's website are standard frozen dessert ingredients without any mention of %.
you can make it at home its easy and tastes good, not as good as mc's lab grown recepie though.
You can look up 'Palm oil icecream recepie', 'commercial icecream recepie' etc and try at home. Milk is used only as a starter ingredient. Canola oil needs less chemical treatment to remove odur and mc Donald's already has it available in bulk for cheap.

      • +1

They may not have the percentage listed, but ingredient lists have to be in order of most used to least used ingredient. So milk is the most used ingredient not oil

  • GFC 2024 coming soon!!!

    • Really need it. Need a big reset. Need to heal the world

  • Try Hungry Jacks frozen canola emulsion instead, still under a buck and yummier imo. For real dairy try Guzman&Gomez's cones or cups, dearer but still good value, again imo.

    • Interesting no one mentioned carl's jnr yet

  • McDonald's have put canola oil in so many of the menu items to lower their costs, it's a struggle to find items either canola free or with lower amounts.

If they called the soft serve ice rapeseed oil I doubt their marketing section would be happy.

got 30 soft corns for tmr ty OP

  • To be fair, both HJ and McD list milk and cream as the main ingredients for their soft serve, as per their published nutritional info.

  • +4

    Not interested in free even.

    • Odd comment, why is it so bad?

      • -1

you may want to search in comments for canola.

        • +1

          • +1

@ilikedeals: i do agree it tastes amazing far better than expensive real stuff.
thats the power of lab chemistry.

  • Is it limit one per transaction?

    • One would hope not, buy 3 for a cheap sundae/mcflurry equivalent

      • Hehe

I remember choc fudge sundae $1 each

        Boughtva few for breakfast

        Best breakfast haha

    • One the app yes. But I went to the counter and I got 4.

      • Oh thanks man

I was gonna skip it as didnt want to wait in line multiple times

If i can get 4 at once i will go

  • +1

    So keen for this
👎 price nowadays is too high for soft serve
👍🏽 choc soft serve is the best flavour

  • +4

"McD doesn't like us taking screenshots"
Why is Ozbargain beholden to McDonald's?

  • +1

    That's date night sorted.

    • +4

      🤤
from soft serve to hard serve?

  • omg they brought back the OG price!!!

  • Haha one per account. I find this to be a strange promotion if it is targeting anyone with kids.

    • +3

You don’t even need to add the deal to your cart (which doesn’t let you add more than one). Just add as many cones as you want and they all go in at 30c each.

    • Kids need to learn how to share, that's the way. Max 2 kids per serve. Better yet bring your own cone scoop Maccas one to make it 15 cents per child (limited to 2)

  • Yes but getting there is not free.. Public transport money or gas or health damage to feet pick your payment.

  • +1

Might be worth not using relative dates - tomorrow never comes - by the time we arrive at tomorrow, it's today.

Best to put an absolute date, say, 13th December (if that's the date of the deal).

  • +3

I can choose vanilla flavour in the app!

  • Ordered chocolate, chocolate not working when they tried. Got vanilla 🙄 at least it was just 30c

  • I’m sorry sir the soft serve machine has broken down…. Said at 187 McDonald’s country wide…

  • Time warp price.

  • Ice cream machine dead yet? I'm here to hear excuses from Maccas

  • But which store out there sells it 🥲

  • WHAT YEAR IS IT?!

  • +1

(profanity) maccas 2 store been, none has it

  • damn didn't realise they have quadrupled in price from the last time i ordered.

Now if only the ice-cream machine is working…

  • Also time to use the sub-dollar balances on my many Restaurant cards!

  • +2

    "Currently unavailable: Chocolate Flavour"

    • second that in Chatswood NSW shop … Fail!

  • Think I could buy 10 cones and just put it straight in a tub and freeze? We'll be set for a month 😂

  • +1

    Currently unavailable

  • -4

No thanks. Never buying anything from that nazi zionist support entity again

  • Is it me or is the app buggy as hell? I just updated yesterday, and today it says the app version is no longer supported.

  • Is this app only or can be purchased via counter?

    • App you can only get one. Go to counter to get multiple.

  • -1

It tastes so bad that I wouldn't even buy it for free

  • Cone wasn't even filled to the bottom. The ice cream was just placed on top. Worth 30c on a hot day though.

On a side note: what's up with people who order and immediately stand in front of the bench where you pick up items.

    • -1

The same people who stand right up against a baggage carousel at the airport. Main character syndrome

  • +1

    Got one, actually decent!

  • Surprise surprise my local Maccas doesnt have it available.

  • Is it just me , or does the Ronald Mcdonald logo on the bag look like he’s running from the cops and dropping a bag of drugs in a bin ?

  • Available Richmond VIC

  • +1

GUYS YOU CAN BUY AS MANY 30c CONES AS YOU WANT!

On the app, after selecting the first one (both vanilla and choc same price) then change the quantity or keep adding more quantity!

    Thank me later :)

    • +1

I was toying with the idea of buying a 100 of them because it's a bargain, but I really don't need that many

      • At that point they'd just tell you to go make it yourself :P

      • the idea of buying a 100 of them

Ask them if you can bring your own ice cream box.

    • no it only says you can buy 999

so buy a lot and fill up your freezer with them :p

  • any tips for carrying multiple cones (ie. more cones than hands). do they give you a tray like they do with drinks?

    • They certainly used to when I bought a lot of cones. Would be silly to stop supplying those trays

    • You can a tray of 4

  • 30c was still the normal price back in 1997:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqH98WFmA7g&ab_channel=Youca…

  • If I were to buy at $1.10 for around 3 cm high of ice cream, I wouldn't. My daughter said it is a sad looking cone, almost like someone's poop. I can notice that the server also not confident giving it to me as it doesn't look nice. Better buy at HJ with twice the height.

    • +3

I can notice that the server also not confident giving it to me as it doesn't look nice.

      wtf

      • Yep, should record their face when they gave to me

  • +1

I didn’t know they even did a chocolate ice cream, thought vanilla only 🤷‍♂️

    • +3

Hence the price, it is recently launched so they are trying to drum up awareness

  • +1

Wintergarden just closed down permanently in Brisbane CBD and Level 1 Queen St didn’t have chocolate flavour available. They were giving sad looking half size vanilla ones to customers who ordered.

    • I would've rioted

    • Whoa didn't realise Wintergarden closed. It was always fairly busy but never seemed to have enough staff on. Just read that apparently McDonalds website also has the pin for the Wintergarden store now located at Post Office Square… so maybe going into the new development there?

      • Sounds about right.. that whole Wintergarden Centre seems to be dying with so many vacant shops

  • Was told that machine was out of order and could not order one at Burwood. Then made an effort to Central and got two :P
