Since no one has yet coined a term for this new approach to raising capital, let me be the first to do so. I am calling this approach “cashback capital raising” or CCRs. One for the textbooks 😂

    • -4

      Nope already coined Amazing Profit
The Amazing Profit record holder $6.25

      • +4

I think they mean it’s a way for Boost to raise capital.

        • +1

Yes, a way for Boost to raise capital!

          • -2

@ilovefullprice: You love free rant on others' inputs and efforts!

  • +2

none of the past three deals have worked lol. "something went wrong"

    • +1

Think you've reached the dreaded limit

      • limit for CR or boost? i havent used CR for a while. never bought a Boost sim either

        • +1

Not CR. Boost is blocking sales of multiple SIM purchases but its system isn't accurate as the limit starts from zero to any amount

  • +1

Have to report again: Sorry, Something Went Wrong

  • +1

    Sorry something went wrong

  • +1

Bought for a mere $4 profit this morning from the other deal….thats a whole dollar down the pipes…devo
    😔

  • $5, that's more like it.

    • They can probably offer $7 profit now as not many can buy anymore

      • +3

I'm curious what Telstra's metric is with these Boost cashback deals. They are obviously not interested in single user multiple purchases as they are actively trying to stop that.

So I guess "new services" are not what they are after any more, if they ever were in the first place. Anecdotally it's new customers that then renew their service and are retained, but I wonder how many are being denied buying that first service due to the harsher fraud detection.

  • Just when I held out for $4, this deal comes along.

Edit: Something went wrong when I tried to buy another one two minutes ago.

    • -2

Not obtainable? What are you on about? Just bought as have probably hundreds of others

      • +3
        • Yeah but it is obtainable if a large number have been able to get it. Anything can cause issues with checkout, from ID issues to VPNS etc. Experiences vary like anything else but its definitely obtainable

          • +1

@jay889344: don’t worry mate, you will join something went wrong club very soon

            • @ujwols: Yes I'm sure I will, but that won't mean its 'unobtainable' just because some can't get it

Its like saying its impossible to run a sub 10 second 100m dash. Just because we can't do it doesn't mean its 'unobtainable.' LOL

    • +2

I've been able to buy one every single time that I've wanted to. Usually one every 3-4 weeks. What am I doing right?

      • -1

        Lucky. Seems to be random

      • +5

Probably because you have been buying one at a time.

      • -7

        …What am I doing right?

You, me and others are not abusing the system and only ordering the amount you need unlike some, this is why we can't have nice things.

        • +1

@nocure Some new customers here have reported getting 'Something wrong' message and haven't bought one yet. Others have bought many and haven't been blocked

      • +1

Flying under the radar. Keep you head down and keep up the good work soldier. o7

      • +2

you're only buying one per promotion. That's the right behaviors needed for Boost but unlike the norms of OzB

        • Apparently not for me though. I did the same at got blocked

      • The system is completely random. I bought once per month 6 times and got blocked. Some people bought their very first sim and got blocked also. Some have been hoarding profit just fine.

        • +1

All I can do is relate my own experience. Always use the same PC, same browser, no VPN, no Adblocks, same payment method, same details. I'm sure I will hit the wall some day, but that day hasn't arrived yet.

  • Thanks Op, it reached my goal. Ordering rn.

    • I wish I could dare to dream of $5 like you

  • +3

I don’t know why I still try =P Stupid optimism

    • +3

If at first you don’t succeed, something went wrong

  • When you activate the SIM, it can be under a different name. Eg I buy for my teens and we activate under my name, my ex, my mum.

If you are getting something is wrong, have you tried buying under a different name and DOB (your sibling etc) to see if it still fails? Try a different credit card too?

    • To fight frauds, AI has to be smarter than that ;)

  • Targetted: for non something wrong users!

  • +2

Never had an issue with over 100+ Sim purchases over the last year. Always used a CommBank debit card to pay, manually inputted address

    • +1

How do you manually input? It always shows the address that you have to select.

      • +1

Since the Telstra address thing is weird, whenever I put my address in, it gives me a pop down of multiple addresses about 1km down the road or to manually input the address. Otherwise you can type in random gibberish and select that you can't find your address.

        • +1

Hmm tried it manually still getting the error message. I can’t even activate any sims online either.

        • +1

What I've found funny on one of my accounts that has been flagged, if I use my actual address I get SWW error, if I manually enter something messy but still recognisable for the postie the purchase goes through… but Telstra apply an address label with my full and correct address that is registered to my TelstraID! 😂

  • Damn it, should have waited!

    • +1

      You peeled off too early!

    • same! missed out on the extra $1!

  • +2

Imagine getting cashback tracking before your order confirmation e-mail arrives… with Cashrewards, you don’t have to imagine any more

  • Purchase went successfully, thank you for sharing

  • +4

    Something Went Wrong squad.

  • Thanks, purchased successfully.

    • Smoking!

  • +1

Thanks OP, 1st attempt failed: used brand new device, no custom ROM, new email, new card
2nd attempt worked like a charm: same device, same IP, changed to another new email, changed to another new card

CR Cashback tracked faster than Telstra 5G

  • "SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering" is to get the cashback? On Boost website it says activate by 29 Jan 2024. Trying to prolong it as long as possible as it'll be my last month on free More plan.

    • +1

First one is for the cashback, second one is for the data. Historically neither is required to be met for the hand-outs, but do so at your own risk I guess.

    • +1

Boost SIM deals often come multiple times a month, so don't worry about maximising contract expiry dates, focus more on the profits :D (yes if you activate within 30 days of ordering the SIM you'll get the cashback)

  • +3

For those experiencing something went wrong, try the following:
    - Manually enter your address, put a slight error/write it differently such that the correct address can still be ascertained
    - Use a different email
    - Use a different contact mobile
    - Use a different card (revolut can help here)
    - Combine with a new IP and different device ID as well if desired.

    • +2

Done all those, still something wrong

      • Random idea I had: borrow your neighbour's Wi-Fi (and use different emails, addresses, card numbers etc)?
(since dynamic IP addresses (e.g the one commonly provisioned by your ISP on your router) can be tracked, same with VPNs)

  • Five dollars. Now we talking!

  • Nothing works!

  • Anyone know how to get the tax invoice? I'm thinking getting this for extra data while travel for work.

    • +1

It's effectively free. If you want to claim it as an expense then just pay for the internet and claim it back. I use it for work purposes but I can't be bothered putting in expense claims and getting management approval.

You can download the tax invoice from the boost portal after the recharge has expired.

The tax invoice shows $35 has been paid even if discount codes have been used.

Ordered 12 yesterday, reverting to the cashrewards site each time to start a new order. 6 tracked but 6 didn't. Anyone here from Cashrewards able to assist or just open an enquiry if they don't come through in the next couple of days

    • -1

Why are you ordering so many?

      • Must be trying to get a month of free internet +$60 profit?
All over if it doesn't track like this of course

      • My 5G modem eats them on a weekly basis

    • Didn't know you could even order 12

  • I tried different blood type and dna. Still something is wrong
