    AU$97.95
    Original price: AU$329.95 (15% off)

    The math isn't mathing

    • Yes i thought exactly the same. Razer can't do proper maths. This price is not at 15% off $329.95. It doesn't make sense.

    • +2

They done goofed, used the true normal price instead of the RRRP to calculate percentage off.

seems to be a price error

Been around $100 a few times already.

Razer/computer peripherals always has inflated RRP.

  • Great price. Commonly $130-150 ish on sales. Great webcam - I like mine.

    • Agree. Crystal clear. I paid under $100 during COVID-19

  • This Vs the built in ring light camera they have. What's better?

This has way better image quality, but so do phones these days.

If you're on a Mac + iPhone setup these days, Continuity camera beats any webcam below $400, and some above that.

If you're on an Android 14 phone and your phone software is supporting it (Pixel only so far), there's a Windows alternative, but quality needs to improve to match Continuity cam as it doesn't seem to be using the video processing well just yet.

TLDR: the value is solid, but phones are quickly overtaking webcam designs that aren't using a professional-grade sensor and lens.

The windows alternative is Epoccam. Can use either USB or WI-FI. The quality is insane. Haven't had any issues apart from needing to install iTunes for the software to pick up the camera.

        • +1

          Specifically for an iPhone, yes.

@jasswolf: Wat does a fone have to do with a web camera?

            • +1

@Ozvalue: It's a wild concept so stick with me here, but most people barely use an actual webcam and would find value in making use of their existing hardware as a temporary webcam. Outageous, I know.

Even OS software is geared towards syncing your phone and your computer, so it's not like you need to be directly using your phone while at your PC. Hell, some people use their phone as their PC.

You can get stands to attach your phone to the top of displays these days, the only issue long term is making sure they're plugged in so they don't drain the battery, maybe a little extra cooling too (such things already exist for people who like to use their phone as a gaming device).

                @jasswolf: Good concept but, No!
A dedicated webcam saves me time to setup my fone as a webcam. Also, you should know, we need to be browsing through irrelevant emails, msgs, shopping lists.. etc, whilst on teams

How good is the quality without installing the razor software? I want to get a webcam for a work laptop where everything is locked down.

    • +1

You need the software to take it out of max FoV to remove the fisheye look, but you also want it to not use the drivers it supplies because it ignores the setting you pick in many apps. It's a little quirky.

It's great, we have multiple computers, two razer cams and some very messy group policy Configs. Still work fine

  • I don't see free shipping, the total comes up at AU$109.95 for me (to Melbourne).
The banner across the top says free shipping on >$99 orders.
Is that the same for everyone else, or is there a trick/promo code needed?

    • It gave me free shipping when I put in the order (around 6.30pm), without any promo codes

      • Had you signed up as a RazerStore Rewards member? Maybe that could make a difference??

        • I didn't, I'm not sure why it's changed for you

  • Tempted to replace my Logitech Streamcam. Sick of its overexposed look and complete incapacity to handle low light.

    • This will smash it for low light

  • Need to pay $12 shipping today. https://ibb.co/7kyyLTQ

  • Is anyone in Melbourne interested in going in together to get 1 each? City or the inner West.
Can then save on postage & also get the $15 off the total for the mailing list sign-up.
