The drawback with these is the power supply costs more than the amp.

  on ebay you can get 24v for under $20
  
  you may already have something that works at home in your box of random electronics junk

    could you link to a variable power supply 12-24V that would suit these type of amps?
    i have one of these and am looking for something i can use on different amps/boards so im not buying more power supplies in the future?
