    Don't buy people gift cards for presents. It's such a pain having to juggle different T&Cs, expiry dates, works at some retailers and not others, some accept prepaid cards while others don't, checking balance is a hassle with lots of phishing sites that claim to do it for you, issues with returning items purchased with gift card etc…

    There has to be a better way. Maybe a universal one…

      True. But this deal may be good for people stuck with Coles Mastercard Giftcards (which they got at 10% off) back in August.

      If they buy this card using their current card, it can come a tappable digital card in-stores with Apple or Google Pay.

          Add them to Paypal, works when I used my Coles MCs this way (this applies to most places).

          Add to PayPal. They block the MCC Merchant code as you can use the Giftcard to buy another Giftcard.

        IIRC Giftz website rejected Coles prepaid mastercard as payment option- unsure if that has changed.

          Add the Coles Prepaid Mastercard on PayPal, and it will bypass their filter.

        In the last deal I bought some with my Amex so that I could pay rego/government type bills and still redeem maximum rewards points instead of the reduced rate usually paid out on government transactions.

      You can but with 0.4 % fee. Better to pay with Coles MC, 0.2%

The Card is a prepaid card that can be used for purchases of goods and services, where prepaid VISA Gift Cards are accepted and processed electronically (excluding cash and cash equivalent transactions at ATM’s, over the counter at Financial Institutions, transactions at the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and merchants and merchant groups who elect not to accept VISA prepaid gift cards, or in any situation where the merchant requires identity verification against the card details, or who are excluded from Category Visa Gift Card use). If the Card is a Category Visa Gift Card, it can only be used at the Visa Merchant Groups described on the Card and/or carrier and the website.

      You can pay ATO but only through Sniip for a 0.85% fee (prepaid card). This is still better than the fees with a credit card/Amex and you will earn points buying from Giftz.

          Depends how much you value your points. If you had an Amex Ultimate card for example, you'd be paying a $68 fee for 10,000 QFF points which is an okay rate.
          If you can stack this with a credit card bonus points promotion then even better. (This will count as eligible spend)

    anyone manage to purchase one of these ACTIV gift cards today?

    I tried twice with PayPal, but it was declined, yet I see pending temporary authorization in PayPal with the amount temporarily deducted?

      It worked for me, I only managed to buy one purchase the Coles MC via PayPal, afterwards, there was a temp authorization and it got refunded.
