OPPO Find N3 Fold $2299 (Was $2699) + Free Shipping Only @ JB Hi-Fi (Online Only)

220

I have a price alert enabled for this phone for credit card price protection purposes, and I noticed it's had a nice price reduction already.

After posting the last deal, I realised many here dislike OPPO – I would ask if you kindly refrain from relitigating all the issues previously raised; I am linking to the previous deal instead to save everyone the headache :Þ

Merry Christmas all

I think Oppo is great, I'd prefer this phone to my fold, but the price is prohibitive. One UI is trash compared to colour OS in my opinion.

    • +1

because the outter screen is wider than fold?

      • Sounds like spirrowhack prefers OPPO's software

    • Agreed. I went from an old Oppo 10X to a shiny Pixel 7 and was unpleasantly surprised to find many features missing in the latest Android 14 compared to a colourOS that was 2 years older.

    It was $400 last weekend.

    • Damn missed out :(

    • What do you mean by $400 last weekend?

    • Are you sure it was this phone? Lol

      • +9

price error and cancelled all orders. No bother

  • Yoooooo this thing dropping faster than a Samsung flagship 10 coupon education portal price with trade in full moon royal flush combo stack.

If this thing drops to 2k I will jump on board

    • Lol not quite - this is really the first price drop it's had. Previous deal was just a store-wide coupon

      I got my z fold 5 for $916
One guy posted a deal where he got his z fold 5 - 512gb for 696!
      It was crazy!

      • Zfold is rubbish compared to this sorry
        No wonder it’s cheap
That creeze is terrible on z fold 5

        • nah, for $916 I am pretty sure i wont lose money when i sell my fold 5 after 1 year.
For $2299, i would not be surprised if u can only sell this OPPO for $1500 or even less.
But again, dont want to start a fight, just to point out the deal.

          • @inusure: That’s fair enough but oppo seems like a much better phone
            I’m just saying
That price for the z fold is unbelievable and can not pass

I've done quite a bit of research on all the Chinese foldables (and I've used and sold Z Fold 2 and 4 in the past), so far this one is the closest to being "perfect" - global software (so Android Auto and Google Wallet both work), very good cameras, good screens, etc. The only downside is not having wireless charging, which is pretty annoying.

Hopefully there will be a boxing day deal to bring the price down a bit further.

    • Agreed - I'm very happy with it

    • Thanks for the mini review!

    • tbf Gpay works on majority of CN rom phones - definitely strikes a nice balance though, I prefer it over the X Fold 2 even though the internals are nowhere near as good.

  • The gold color is lit. Damn not coming to jb though. (personal preference)

Currently using xaoimi mix fold 3 on global rom and complete fine without chinese traces.

    • The gold does look nice.

Although, I thought the black colour would be daggy, but I actually really like it. It projects a unique sense of style compared to the other same-same phones, it feels nice in the hand, can't shatter/scratch easily, and reminds me of an old Leica camera (especially with the distinctive camera bump).

    • was there any reason why JB didn't bring in the Gold?

      • Sorry not associated

Cannot be bothered to request for removal. I did a casual hours for thegoodguys few years back and got the tag.

    • tfw I bought CN version precisely for the gold version(global was also priced 30% more)

      • Yeah but with cn you will have issues with delay notifications and android auto.

        • Generally had not had any issues with notifications on BBK phones with CN Rom, but Android auto defs a downside if you need it

    • Yeah the gold cw is fire as hell

  • +1

I am waiting for a deal and I ll buy my first foldable phone.

    • Cn version are cheap and have number of options but weigh the monetary advantage against your usage

      • Any link where to buy? Maybe ali express?

        • +2

          Alibaba
          Check seller's rating
          Pay with paypal

  • how to create a price alert for all sites?

    thanks

  • These will keep dropping more and more, just wait if you can. Eg moto razr

  • When Oppo Find X5 pro appeared I went and bought it straight away for ~1800 and was very happy, after 6 months, the price started to drop and after 1 year it dropped to ~900 (boxing day probably). I still have x5 Pro for over 2 years, and the battery started to deteriorate. I want this Fold, but now I'm hesitant to pay such a price in a rush and will wait.

  • Does this play Genshin Impact & Honkai Starrail @ 60-120fps?

    • I don't game, but there are a few YouTube videos testing this, such as this one. It seems like it handles it well from the quick skim I did.

    • +1

I don't play these games but I've watched enough reviews to know that 8 Gen 2 (which this Oppo uses) can run Genshin and Honkai at 50-60fps depending on the game settings and ambient temperature. I don't think these two games even offer 120fps as no current hardware (even the brand new 8 Gen 3) can hit it.

  • Online only means I cannot use the Ultimate Gift Card.

    • +1

Buy JB Hi-Fi gift cards with your Ultimate Gift Card online; might work despite them changing the rules

  • If it drops by another $400 then I'll bite I reckon…

  • No wireless charging on this or it's OnePlus brother absolutely kills me. Looks like my Z Fold 3 gets another rotation around the sun.

  • +1

I have the Z fold 5, this is actually the first time I've seen a chinese foldable in an Australian retailer (besides a few flip type phones). I find that samsung's folds leave a lot to be desired, mainly because of how narrow they are. Its a pipe dream but I wanna see the Honor Magic v2 hit Australian markets. Might jump on that right away. Phone is like iphone pro max thickness when folded.

    • +1

      Yeah that's the dream!

    • +1

Honor has no presence in Australia, it's not happening. We don't even get Xiaomi.

      • You can pre-order the Honor Magic V2 in Australia right now with the global rom for a late January shipping date.

  • Gone from the JBHIFI website?

    • Yeah maybe it's sold out?

  • Mine is supposed to be delivered today but no scanning or attempt of delivery as TGE's chat agent said. Looks like I'm not getting it soon. Ordered on 21 Dec and paid for express post. Terrible service from TGE which seems to be the expectation after reading reviews.

    • +1

That's disappointing – mine was actually delivered before the estimated date, but they used AusPost for that particular order. TGE has been okay for me in the past too. I did have issues with a backordered item (robot vacuum) that required two follow-ups with them, but that was an issue with their warehouse.

      • +1

AusPost has up their game quite a lot after Covid. They're not as bad as they were in the past. TGE seems to become the past AusPost in term of reliability.
I tried to contact TGE twice and it looks like the people behind their call centre has no access to what's going on in the depot. All they said were that they would follow up and someone at the Depot would contact me in 1-2 business days but it was not the case for me.

  • I think this product has already been discontinued in Australia, OOS everywhere.

    • I think they sold more than they anticipated - probably trying to catch up their supply chain

      • Its also 404 on JB, leads me to think its not coming back.

        • It was 404'ing after the last deal I posted though, then it came back with the reduced price in this deal

        • Back in stock, but price is $2699 again

        • They only had 88 in stock across all of Australia at the start of December so I'd say they're likely just trying to catch up. These Chinese companies usually send a shipment once a month, twice if it's a really popular product. It'll likely be back.
