Stop spamming OzBargain with vinyls from your favourite eBay seller. We get they have special deals. Anybody who actually collects this stuff can monitor their eBay store and find stuff themselves. There's no need for you to post every 'special'.

I have posted vinyl deals from JB, Amazon AU and US and Rarewaves. I always check multiple sources to get the best price, and have at least 10 in stock. Rarewaves just happens to fit that criteria, they are not my "favourite eBay seller". My favourite seller is whoever is cheapest.

I get that Amazon has special deals, anybody who buys stuff can monitor the app or website and find stuff themselves. There's no need for people to post every "special". Does that sound about right? You can substitute "Amazon" with any other popular store on OzB - Starbuy, Coles, Woolies, Aldi, Bunnings, eBay, TGG, JB etc. Shit, what's the point of this site? Just read catalogues and circle the stuff you want with a texta.

You think I'm a spammer. What do you suggest I do?

      • +5

What do you suggest I do?

I suggest you keep posting all that good stuff!

          I've been suspended:

User is temporarily suspended from store representative/third-party/brand posts.
Reason: posting limit has been reached.
          Posting limit: 1/24 hours
          Rep posts taken into account

I'm not a store rep. Mods are tripping

          • +2

@rosebank: It was my mistake, I accidently selected "I'm associated with" in the drop-down in one of my replies. The mods have removed my "Associated" tag and I'm no longer suspended.

            My apologies to everyone.

    • +1

      Speak for yourself @iguana

      I love your shares @rosebank

  • +1

Keep those specials coming OP, I say.

Plenty of collectors out there that enjoy seeing what's out there that don't want to pay ridiculous retail amounts.

  • If Rarewaves gets ozbargained, then I'm gonna start posting joker memes in the forums. You have been warned

    • What's the issue with Rarewaves?

      • +2

Nothing. But apparently I'm their store rep and I've been spamming. I have also been suspended.

        • If you're posting various sites with deals, and you are, then that's ridiculous.

Also, cheers for the post, bought Coltrane, Davis and Moon Safari :)

      • Rarewaves is amazing! And I don't want it to be overrun with compulsive buyers

        • +1

          Its the downside of sharing

But i choose to believe sharing and an abundance mindset is good karma and will bring more deals to you

  • +1

Thanks OP, copped one. Keep ‘em deals coming

  • +3

    Thanks grabbed Miles Davis.
I love Air. Although moon safari may be the better album I love the Kyoto songs on walkie talkie

  • Does anyone have any idea how they can sell and mail a vinyl for $30 to aus??

Surely they can't actually fulfil these orders?

Note - I've bought 8 things from these guys!

    • +3

Thats what they should cost though

      Modern vinyl is rediculously overpriced

    • it's not called "a vinyl".

      • A (vinyl) LP or record?

        • vinyl , record , or LP.
          Never 'A VINYL"

          • @darkmoss: Sounds like you're annoyed about that lol.
            Vinyl is plural.

  • +3

Sorry everyone, I messed up and caused all the confusion. The mods have helped me remove the "associated" tag and I'm no longer suspended. It was my mistake, and I thank the mods for helping me fix it it.

    • -3

      nobody cares

  • +1

Thanks, OP. I discovered this eBay store because of you. Just bought Dave Brubeck's Time Out Vinyl for $29.32.

Let me know if you find a good deal on Snakadaktal Sleep in the Water Vinyl

    • -2

that album is 50 cents at most op shops, on higher quality vinyl

      • @darkmoss are you talking about Snakadaktal or Dave Brubeck?

        • Dave Brubeck - Time Out , dog

  • +1

I dont like the 2020 anniversary collection part on the covers

Does anyone know if those are removable?

    • +1

it's obviously on the shrink wrap, SMH

  • +6

They are cheap for a reason, look at the Label of those records (Dol, Music on Vinyl), they are bootleg. They don't have access to the original master tapes so they are either mastered from a CD — at best, or some other digital sources like online downloads, streaming, who knows. Search those Labels up on google and you will see more details.

    • +1

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I googled as suggested and read about DOL. How disappointing, price was too good to be true. Thanks

    • +1

I asked to cancel the one I bought from the seller.

    • +2

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I searched the DOL numbers on discogs and both of these Coltrane and Davis pressings have average reviews.

I'm considering cancelling the order. At the same time, the price is good and I'm only buying these to have some jazz in my collection. Though, I hate the idea of limiting my system at the source!

    • OP just likes buying junk for fun, they don't care about sound

    • Would i be better off just buying an old one?

      • +1

        definitely

      • +1

I think you mean better to buy the original press.

Used is ok off its cheap ($5-10) just check the condition, obviously the sound quality degrades easily with vinyl but some people like the pops and cracks.

        • nobody seeks out pops and cracks, you just put up with them if it's an otherwise superior sounding press

          • +1

@darkmoss: Those things don't make it superior.
Also way too expensive. CDs are superior.

            • @G-rig: CDs can be great , do u want to date?

              • @darkmoss: Those things don't make it superior.
Also records are way too expensive, you are paying for nostalgia and the cool factor.
CDs are superior and hi res streaming technically and in reality, just nice having something tangible and physical.

                • @G-rig: you're repeating yourself , like a scuffed CD.
But the fact is that some CDs are great, some records are great..
this is obvious.. it depends on the source used, and a multitude of other variables.
Records aren't just for fun, sometimes they sound a lot better, and technically and factually they are superior.. depending.
U didn't answer my date request?

                  • @darkmoss: So are you, like a broken record 😅.

Agree, either can sound better, the recording and mastering quality resulting in the dynamic range makes the biggest difference in sound quality. Where it is good is when different versions are available on either (rarities and live recordings etc).

Audiophiles can justify any way they want if throwing a fortune at their setups.

    • +1

      they are bootleg

Are you really using that term correctly?

I know bootlegs as unauthorised amateur recordings of live performances that get traded and shared between music lovers usually without payment

  • Just listening to Kind of Blue now on Tidal Connect (192kHz / 24Bit).
Sounds pretty good, fairly basic lobby music but very timeless and set the bar in 1959.
