Bonus Dewalt XR 5Ah Battery (Worth $139) with Purchase of DeWalt LED Work Light (Skin Only) $98.99 @ Bunnings (In-Store Only)

1570

The batteries retail at $134.95: https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-18v-5-0ah-li-ion-battery_…

If you buy the XR work light (skin only) Bunnings are running a redemption offer which is fulfilled in store for a free XR 5Ah li-ion battery.

The skin is $98.99 on its own, so you’re alright saving $35. But you could sell the light on and make the overall cost even less.

This redemption deal covers any of the XR or Atomic skins, says so on the redemption leaflet in store. Staff were surprised this was included.

Happy to post receipt to prove in store purchase and offer redemption.

My receipt; they charged me $0.01 for it though. Will amend title just in case.

  • Nice. Wouldnt mind a worklight and battery will be handy

  • -1

It looks like that the redemption is in store only, OP can you please share the receipt just in case. It will be the first mission for tomorrow morning soon the store opens up.

  • +2

Will the redemption work Click and Collect? bit of a drive for me to go tonight but 100% want this

  • Is that reception instore or from dewalt? because I dont see it listed on the Dewalt redemptions

    • +1

Click the link to the light, it says “redemption offer”. These are redemptions that’s Dewalt have instructed Bunnings to fulfil

  • +1

OP can you check the lumens? Apparently pre 2019 it was 250-500 then went up to 300-1000 lumens. Model number stayed the same. I know bunnies states 250-500 but they have been known to show wrong specs! Still a good deal either way!

"300-1000 lumen light output, with broad and even beam pattern (date code 2019 46-TW and later - older product 250-500lm)"

Sure mate. It’s 1000lm/300lm according to box

  • -1

Mans didn't pay with bonus Bunning giftcards :(

    Still a solid deal though.

  • Ordered for click and collect and I guess I'll find out tomorrow if the redemption works that way :)

    • It should. Just go inside to the service desk if any issues.

      • Yeah, should be fine and if not I'll just get a refund. Need to get some gift vouchers for xmas anyway while I'm there.

  • +1

Guessing you need to buy a separate charger if you aren't already part of the DeWalt ecosystem.

    • Any deal for a charger?
I'm with Ryobi, and I think I can buy an adapter to use the battery in my tools. However, can I charge it using thr Ryobi charger and the battery adapter?
      Thanks

      • If you know anyone with a 3d printer, get them to print an adaptor.

    • +2

if you are not in the system then not really much point getting this. IF you plan on buying more you will always get a charger next time around

      • ebay has cheap chargers.

  • Do you mind sending a pic of the redemption leaflet please?

  • +2

Curious because it's charged at $0.01 as a purhcased item rather than a traditional redemption; what's stopping you from purchasing the light and immediately returning it to get the $98.99 and keep the battery? Ts&Cs do not expressly mention refunds, returns or exchanges otherwise.

    • Could be store specific offer?

    • To be honest mate, I think the staff member was expecting it to not be included. He told the person on the checkout to put his name in the notes.

I guess you could try for the refund if they do charge you $0.01. I need the light though.

      • Maybe someone stuffed up somewhere. Other stores have the same redemption offers but it does not include this work light.

Edit: It's actually only supposed to be for select products.

        • They told me they’d have to check on the computer, they scanned the light and it came up as part of the redemption offer. If it’s a stuff up it’s their entire system.

          • @mcncl: I assume so. Their website has redemption offer next to just about everything. Unless of course Bunnings is being super generous with their offer but I doubt it. Best to get in early tomorrow.

            • @ozbs25: The leaflet in store was for any XR or Atomic skin, which now kind of covers most of the Dewalt range.

              • @mcncl: Yeah, I just saw the PDF of the full list but I still don't think it's supposed to be this way. Doesn't really make sense to go beyond Dewalt's own redemption offer.

    • Refund the light and hold for the next deal?

    • Bonus battery will be charged at $0.01

      From their T&Cs

    • +3

Bunnings specifically lists this light in their promo PDF.

      https://delivery.bunningscontenthub.bunnings.com.au/api/publ…

Expiration date was end of November, but if they've extended it in store that's their call, so a bit of a grey area.

      • Solid doc. On my way to the Bunning now. But first think later. How much their charger btw? Lol

        • $100-ish? I got mine from toolset. Just need a 5Ah battery for my Dyson vaccum (my current 2Ah won't last 30s on max mode) so this can be a great chance for me.

          • @xmagic: Are they compatible with cross-ecosystems? Never tried before.

            • +1

@Bii: They are adaptors on Amazon AU. 18v power tool battery charged up to be around 21.6V, which is the same rating as the Dyson battery. Though the Dyson obviously requires a lot more output from the battery pack than a drill, thus need a bigger battery so the voltage drop a bit slower on a vacuum (at least that’s the theory)

Your bunnies is open till 2300?

          • @lordra: 10 pm for these few days similar to other stores like Westfields and Colseworths close at midnight.

Sadly they already locked the shelves by the time I got there and was told to come again tomorrow. Not too bad as I was driving nearby anyways.

      • I see the expiration date is 31/12. Where did u see it was end of Nov?

  • +2

    Its $94 with powerpass

    • Any easy way to share powerpass?

  • +2

These lights are pretty decent. I use it all the time. And I take it camping. I live on a rural block so it’s dark here at night (no street lights), use it for taking the bins out to the road. Has a handy hook on top for hanging up. It’s very bright, fairly blue (cold) end of the spectrum. I got mine years ago with a battery deal. I wouldn’t pay full price for it, but as a redemption or something it’s great.

  • Guess the kids will be visiting Bunnings tomorrow morning!

    Grad deal OP!

I just grabbed the last one at Bunnings in Maddington WA. Cannington had 4 according to the staff member when I left, but there's now 3 when looking it up just now on this stock checker website - https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/6260319

Here's a copy of the redemption leaflets they have plastered all over the shelving near the DeWalt tools - https://i.imgur.com/P3zzzkr.jpg

Scanning the QR code on the leaflet above will take you to this DeWalt webpage with further information on the deal (scroll down the page and enter the date of purchase) - https://www.guaranteedtough.com.au/

It looks like Bunnings have stuffed up as only these 2 lights come up as being part of the redemption offer (the ones shown on the leaflet) - https://i.imgur.com/1JpgfyF.jpg

I was also charged the 1c for the battery - I guess they need a value of some sort to keep track of it in the system - https://i.imgur.com/h5z3atO.jpg

I've already got one of these lights and they're brilliant. I'll give this one to my Dad for xmas.

    • +1

Just got one for myself and it works without too many questions asked. The store got a different poster that actually shows 31 Dec as ending date: https://i.imgur.com/5CnM6ql.jpg

Looks like Bunnings have realised their error, and removed the pic of the battery redemption offer from their online advertising associated with work light.

I dare say anyone looking for one on Saturday will be told, 'stock has run out' in line with their published T&Cs - I'll still be trying tomorrow.

Terms and conditions apply, Starts:1/11/23 and ends on 11:59pm AEDST 31/12/23, 'or once stock runs out' whichever is first to occur. Max 1 claim per transaction.

    • Let us know how you go, thanks mate. <3

      • Yep - got it

    • BUNNINGS WAREHOUSE: Bonus battery offer is valid to 30/11/23 while stocks last. Bonus battery redeemable in-store at the time of the transaction only.

Looks like Bunnings ended early or possibly extended

      • Just got one today from padstow store nsw… offer is still valid

      • Definitely extended as per Bunnings De Walt page & T&Cs

  • +1

Guys i am sure that the battery you get at bunnings is a freebie .You can still claim your redemption on line.Idid and it worked I got 2 batteries

    • Can you share the link?

    • I tried to claim another free battery for Worklight DCL050 on Dewalt redemption website, but unable to claim as the free battery is not part of the redemption on their website. Still very happy for the Bunnings deal with light and battery for $94.05 (Powerpass card)

      • I concur, there is no work light DCL050 that can be claimed via online redemption.
@Stefoz64 How did you go about redeeming & have you had confirmation of successful redemption?

        • If you look at stefo64 post, Bunnings hammer drill with free 5A battery. There is only one explanation: store just gave him a free battery OTC without place battery item in the original receipt, then he use that receipt to do another redemption on au Dewalt website, so he has 1+1=2, is my logical thinking sounds alright?

        • I selected another work light to make it through the process (with a note of Bunning refused to give me the battery, or not, can't remember). The battery arrived today with a surprise. So yeah.

          • +1

@Bii: I just thought i would give the redemptions a go online too (same day as purchase) and received a battery today. Omfg ! Score… that means i paid approx 200 for two lights and three 5ah batteries.. not bad .. I got the two free ones from bunnings. On the invoice from today's it states bunnings redemption promotion.

  • I made the mistake of ordering C&C, now my store is out of stock. Pretty sure I'm getting an out of stock email

  • So just checking you grab the light and battery and when it scans together it should reduce?

    • -1

No, they will scan both and will override the battery price to$.01.

  • Got it this morning in Ashfield. First he said it was expired, then I showed him both the receipt and the Document. Done. A good present for myself!

  • Just worked for me at Adelaide Airport, I took one, 2 more left, go get them!

  • Grabbed one at Hawthorn this morning. Was one more left about 20 mins ago.

  • Click and Collect didn't work due to terms being instore. So returned and got a refund and repurchased. Don't know if true but person said system said offer ended today.

    • Weird for that as it's advertised online?

      • Yup. That's why you often have to challenge them.

    • I did Click and collect, and they took me down to the toolshop and was able to get the battery redemption there.

  • Is the battery interchangable with Fat max drill battery?

  • -1

Just grabbed two from my local and nearly got elevated to top tier Ozbargain status. Lady was about to give me two dual packs of 5ah batteries. Was all but 5 seconds away from being asked to pay but the manager noticed and promptly fixed it up.

On another note, didn't ask for proof or anything, I just mentioned the light had a battery redemption and it showed up on their system with no issues.

  • +1

Thanks! Got 1 from Thornleigh NSW just now. 2 light left in stock.

    • Thanks for the tip. Got one here too. No issues at all. Looks to be sold out everywhere else in the area.

  • Awesome find op! Got the last light and battery at Springvale VIC

  • Thanks. Picked up a set this morning. Even the bunnings staff were surprised by this deal.

    • Yea staff here were surprised too :). Just picked up one from padstow store

  • Missus went to Bunnings Fountain Gate and the tool shop guy scan the LED work light with his pocket scanner, which doesn’t show that it has a battery redemption. He refused to take the unit and a battery to the cash register to scan, saying there is no point because his device would indicate otherwise.

So she went to Dandenong South store and got one.

    • +1

next time get the manager! or take the light and battery to the register yourself

    • +1

Guy sounds like a piece of work

    • Hey mate, it must be the same guy who mentioned a lady was here earlier asking about the offer, I showed him this ozbargain page and he scanned the light at the checkout, and the offer showed up there, he was feeling very sorry for not serving the lady before with the redemption offer, he mentioned multiple times. It’s the Bunnings IT system error not showing across all devices. Thanks

      • Haha missus said thanks and that was sweet of him.

  • +5

Thanks for the post OP. Just went and got one, the store didnt have XR 5ah so was given a powerstack 5ah.

    • What a score!

  • Got 1 from Eastgardens, no issues. Thanks!

  • Got 1 from Maribyrnong (Highpoint), VIC. It didn't scan as free & I had to talk to the supervisor & show the OP scanned receipt plus the promotion flyer in store. Then marked down to 1c (plus the light for PowerPass price).
1 left in the cabinet at Maribyrnong.

  • Thanks! No issue at Dandenong branch.

  • Got last one in Mernda. Thanks OP

  • Any point getting this if I don't have Dewalt tools? Maybe I can find an adapter to use this battery in my Brass Monkey fridge

    • you'll still need a dewalt batt recharger

      • This is why i didnt buy one . Charger is about $60 off bucks or so

        • +1

Yeah, I mean, if you’re not in the Dewalt ecosystem then it’s probably not a deal

    • +1

Chargers are from $30 on fb marketplace.

So I went to Bunnings Footscray - where their website indicated they had availible stock.

Initially the floor guy said I had to seek redemption online, but I recall someone in this post suggesting the product isn't covered in the list of eligible products online. So I stood there reading this thread again trying to find the Bunnings T&Cs again and showed the T&Cs to the tool shop supervisor.

He asked the cashier to confirm if the product was displaying a 'redemption code' on the register, which he confirmed it did.

So the tip is: Make sure you have the Bunnings De Walt page with the T&Cs easily accessible on your phone. The supervisor was amazed at the deal.

Some people have suggested you can double dip on the redemption by applying for it online as well, but I don't think that is possible as your invocie (evidence of proof of purchase) clearly shows the battery as being sold for 1 cent as per T&Cs
obviously to account for inventory tracking purposes.

Nice little Xmas present for myself.

get battery without any issue at Gladesville store with click and collect.

  • Got one in Townsville but had to discuss the deal with 4 people and get manager to go find a print out. It's listed on there last so they gave me the battery after a half hour of negotiations and me producing my "mates" receipt. I did click and collect but then they added the one cent to my bill and issued me another receipt for the battery. Worth the hard work though. Thanks OP

    • +3

Always happy to gain a mate.
