    Now waiting on Autobarn

Got any recommendations mate? I'm too lazy to research haha

Watch "Dash Cam Owners Australia" on YouTube for a few hours. Many cams are watermarked with brand & model. You'll soon learn what's good and what's garbage.

And possibly come out a better driver! ….that or crying in horror at the state of humanity to never leave the house again.

        +1 Viofo

    • +3

I’d recommend blackvue only if you’re after a solution for fleets or cloud

  • +6

You can purchase now and Super cheap will credit back the difference if there's something you don't want to miss out on.

    • +7

It’s store credit tho so it must be spent at SCA

  • +7

From regular price? means RRP!! most likely still expensive than regular sale. This one currently $89.99. So, I will check back again tomorrow.

    • That’s how they getcha

    • +3

Yes that’s right so 26% off will make it $96.19

    • No it means SCA regular price. RRP could be WAY more, or in very rare cases slightly less than SCA's regular price (that was the case at one point for a Liqui Moly additive I was looking at). It does mean that some things may have been cheaper when on sale previously - oils being a prime example.

Moral of your investigation - never buy in boxing day or black friday sale unless you know what was the price before sale starts … !

    • -1

LMAO… thanks for catching them in the act!

      • What act? The concept is simple. They and many other retailers have things which are rotated through "sales" (often vis catalogues), sometimes at large discounts off regular price. When X% OFF "everything" sales come along, previous large discount prices go back to regular price. Rarely, when retailers want sales or want to shift old stock they MIGHT allow stacking. That happens a lot in the sectors like clothing which have had significant stagnation. If you're after a bargain then you need to understand your markets, which sellers have regular large discounts, and when those are likely to occur. A 10 minute search here will turn up lots of useful info and recent best pricing and timing of sales. Or, just use good old, now unreliable, google - ignoring the first page of usually irrelevant paid advertising results.

I both $350 worth on the 18th, looking forward to getting some auto credit back for the difference!!!
Let's see what their exclusion excuse will be for me!!

    • What do you mean by auto credit back? You mean if I purchase today and give my membership details at purchase, the credit happens automatically?

      • +2

        Yes that's how it works

        • Good to know, thank you.

      • No, you get credit back because there's a price difference. Imagine you buy something at full price one day just for it to go on sale the next. They give you credit to make up for the difference.

        • Yes I understand how that works, I was just wondering if I had to do anything for the credit, assuming there is to be a price difference.

          • @j1nx: Just to clarify, that credit is not your CC or bank account. It's a credit in your Supercheap Auto club account..and must be spent within a certain number days, otherwise it expires.

I was looking at a very specific spare part to fix my car. Looked few days ago, it was about $320ish, todays it is $392… crooks lol

      • +1

Tomorrow it's (probably) $290. They're knocking even more off and you're complaining?

          • @beach bum: Fundamental attribution error there bb.

        • So 74% of 320 is 290? If not, sounds like this is false advertising mate.

If you think like this, no wonder companies get away with all the stuff they pull.

          • @Larsson: No, obviously not. If their regular price is $392 then you'll still be $30 to the good.

What's false about the advertising? If you can show their regular price is $320 then by all means press your point.

If you think like this, no wonder companies get away with all the stuff they pull.

Your entitlement is noted. 2024 could be a bad year for you if some pundits are correct. Apparently a lot of retailers aren't doing so well and the huge discounting we've seen in recent years may be a rare(r) occurrence.

  • Any tips for SCA discounted gift cards?

      • Thank you!
Looks like I have to purchase TCN Choice (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/820887) for 10% off
I was hoping to get SCA gift cards directly as easier to redeem online and in store. Last time I tried TCN, store had a 5 x limit on "3rd party gift cards". Purchase was $640 - could only use FOUR gift cards as the FIFTH transaction (EFTPOS) had to be the remaining amount to be paid

        • You can swap these to SCA cards online but I am unsure of the time delay at this time of year.

        • Store limits on gift cards are purely self-imposed. If staff say it's a "system limitation", that's rubbish as there are ways to get past that with a simple keystroke.

          t. Former BCF employee - same POS program is used across all of SRG.

          • @w33w00: Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately a bit difficult to argue with the staff members who have states this is store policy. They said no limit on SCA gift cards however limit of 5 on 3rd party ones. They even tried to redeem 5 TCN cards + remaining amount on EFTPOS but system wouldn't allow them as it was a 6th transaction!

    • I know it's only applicable for some, but certain union member benefits provide them. I'm MEAA and from memory it's about 7.5% for SCA gift cards.

      • 8% discounted SCA e-gift cards with Perkbox through my Union Membership

      • Union Shopper (affiliated unions) and possibly Senior Shopper is 7.5% iirc. They also have cashback.

  • Perfect, need an air filter and oil filter for my cheapo car when doing oil change

    • +1

Usually far cheaper at independant parts stores I find. Mine sells sakura oil filters for $8-$10 where ryco are usually $20

  • Time for eufy. Will bunnings price match.

    • yes i am looking for the same

      • Unfortunately Bunnings have already price matched SCA's price
I ended up buying Eufy from Amazon (same price as SCA) instead with 10% discounted gift card

  • Is this off the normal price or member price? Member price really is an everyday price (believe most customers would be members). Anyone know how SCA are treating it?

  • Is it a good time to buy Mobil 1?

    • Only the 10L c3 or the Vectron ck-4 20L via western filters with 10% off for first orders and free delivery above $99

But why are you a brand loyalist? Means nothing, its all about specs.

      • Thanks for the suggestion! I usually go for Castrol or Nulon full synthetic oils, but I'm open to trying different options to see how they perform. It's not about brand loyalty for me, just exploring what works best. I'll check out the ones you recommended. Cheers!

  • Confirmed discount is off standard price not members/club price. $1100 fridge gets $65 discount.

  • +4

    Castrol oil was cheaper yesterday

    • +1

Crazy how expensive they are even with "discount."

E.g. Castrol Edge 10W30 5L $64.37 on SCA at 26% off versus $58 delivered on Amazon

This is without me even really trying to find a cheaper store. I'm sure you can source for even cheaper.

    • +1

Amazing discovery. Unless there was a pricing oversight, anything which was discounted by more than 26% last week would be more expensive today.

Anyone chasing a bargain should ALWAYS compare prices, not just accept that any sale will guarantee the best available delivered price. Thought I was getting a good deal (I was) at a genuine 50% off BF clothing sale from a big retailer until I looked at the distributor's website and found the same items significantly cheaper again. Competition is great - a fundamental of free enterprise.

  • I picked a cart full of stuff from automotive superstore instead of this. Worked out to be about 15% cheaper because of sca inflated prices.

    • Yeah I price matched a few items from Automotive superstore yesterday with supercheap and still saved about extra 15% on todays supercheaps discounted prices.

      • supercheap price matched the Automotive Superstore prices?

  • +1

I used the SCA Sale price of $651.19 + $14.99 delivery on the Karcher K7 compact pressure washer to successfully price match (-10%) at Bunnings for $599.56

  • Legit same price pre and post black friday at least 1-2 dollars off would have been nice lol.

  • CK-4 Gulf Western 20L is worth it. Good for every car in the country unless you live in a location that gets snow every year. Topcashback giving 3% cashback on top. Good deal.

There are some other deals on there, but i can't be bothered typing about them here. Some have sold out, too.
