I found a great deal on a Seiko's watch at SHIELS. They already have a VIP offer for $150 off $500, which I saw on other forum post. I searched online and found a code that gives the same discount. The best part is that you can use the code on gift cards, and it seems to work multiple times.

I bought a gift card worth $637.50 for only $487.50 with the code. Then I used the same code to order the watch, which was $787.50 before the discount. So I paid $487.50 for a watch that was originally $787.50. That's amazing!

PS: Make Sure you use different email to first Buy your GC and then your watch order. Also, make sure to use the Online Delivery option on the GC page.

      Same decided to click instore. They have one there but will inspect it, otherwise I'm sure it's possible to pick up one delivered to store.
      Bit easier than missing deliveries sometimes (and impatient).

      It's a bit of work for $300 off, makes the Shiels prices much better!

    God dammit, ordered another gift card and it shows as invalid and when opened the pdf again says the balance is $0….(it initially worked when i put it in then after 2 seconds reverted to invalid)

      Yep, just worked for me. It takes about 30 mins for the gift card to be sent through.

      Use one email + phone number to buy the gift card.
      Open a new incognito window and use another email + phone number to buy the watch and use the gift card

    Still worked for me just now! Thanks to this I was finally able to get my discounted SNJ025P. For clarification to anyone confused:

    • Purchased a $500 gift card with the provided code, using one email address. Cost: $350
    • Gift card arrived after 28 minutes
    • Added the SNJ025P to cart (Shiels price: $600)
    • Used the provided code to reduce the cost to $450.
    • Paid with the gift card, using a second email address but rest of details (including phone number) the same. Free shipping and $50 left over.

    Result: SNJ025P for $350 delivered, plus an extra $50 to go towards something for the missus who has a birthday coming up. Considering this watch never seems to go below $450 elsewhere, I'm treating this as this a huge win!

      Tried changing cards?
      Sometimes the online payment gateway detects something unsual and block the card.
      Not sure if this is your case or not. But worth a try.

      Also if on trying wifi, then change to mobile data. This should give a new ip address to the payment system

    Still working fine at 630pm. Preloaded a cart with gift card and another cart at separate device with watch. Made sure code would apply to both. Purchased giftcard using PayPal pay in 4. Went through without a hitch; received confirmation email immediately. 30mins later, email containing pdf giftcard arrived. Applied giftcard to payment form at second device. Check out complete and confirmation email received.

    Watch order cancelled. $3.95 express delivery (after thought) supposedly refunded. No explanation or reason given in email from Shiels. No email yet to say gift card purchase cancelled. Will just wait and see till the dust settles what happens with that. (Removed upvote). It was a good effort though OP. Wish we'd all thought of Click and Collect. Very funny to see who did eventually get away with that one! 🤣

      Well mate, all we can do is try. It’s not uncommon to stack discounts with GCs.

      True, will see how it all pans out. To honour it or not completely depends on the store.

      Also, this is the case with most of the “Too good deals”, it gets ozbargained. But it would be extremely selfish to find something like this and not post it for the community as that is all this forum is about.

    There's no logic to the refunds/cancellations for anything other than no stock. The code's terms (on the mine coupons site) don't indicate any restriction - simply $150 off for orders over $500.

    If my wife bought a gift card with the code - she arguably hasn't breached the code use.

    Similarly if I then apply the code to an order where the cart exceeds $500, paying with a gift card should have no bearing to that particular order or the use of the code on that order.

          So far, my second order of the SRPE45J was cancelled which was ordered on the 31st (it says they refunded the gift card balance on the cancellation - https://imgur.com/a/fDSBrc4 - however the gift card balance remains at 0 ). My panda order on the 30th remains intact so far., but suspect that will be cancelled too.

            @Pulseless: More of a whinge in this case. In any event if they want to exercise discretion to cancel orders, then id want them to exercise the same discretion to refund my wife the gift card balance in full back to credit card :) see how we go.

              @lawyered: I think they will refund the original gift card purchases … their original error was allowing the nine promo code to be applied to a gift card purchase, when their equivalent VIP voucher T&Cs specifically exclude that. That's the cause of the problem they need to address, & the orders that used the gift cards were just the symptom.

              I note that they now do not allow for any discount code to be added for a basket that includes a gift card.

              Will be interesting to see if they cure the affected gift cards that still carry the unintended discount. Maybe that's their opportunity … give people the option for full refund of the gift card or perhaps turn it into $425 value instead of $500 for those people that will want to use for a future purchase combining with available discount codes.

      Their T&Cs say the company can cancel orders and refund customers' payment, using the same method as original payment because of the pricing errors (or for any reason)

      It's interesting that the number of cancellations reported so far is pretty low. I'd expect to see a lot more reported today. Even if everything is being done manually to identify and process the cancellations, I'd expect a lot more cancellations to have been reported by now.

      It doesn't seem that stock is the issue as the Speedtimer panda moved to "out of stock" yesterday (even on Shiels other sites Watch Depot and Grahams) but is now back in stock (perhaps it was to contain the damage with the coupon due to expire yesterday)
