Warning: This Geo-Pricing deal requires purchasing Spotify gift cards from FPC Retail via Amazon India. This seller has a poor rating of 58% with many complaints of non-fulfilment. Since the gift cards are not fulfilled by Amazon India, you will be dealing with FPC Retail directly if anything goes wrong. — Moderator

Cheap Spotify Premium Individual with simple steps.

Cheaper than this popular deal

I spend a lot of my time and some of my money to check and test this deals, so please be kind and show some love.

Price Comparison (Australia prices vs India Prices)

Australia: Spotify Premium Individual A$12.99 per Month (Say What?)

India: Spotify Premium Individual 12 months ₹1,189 (~A$21.15). That's around ~A$1.76 per month. (That's the way)

Note: Spotify Premium Family it's not yet available on Amazon India

However you might be able to use siberry 's steps from this deal to convert

Edit: Important note. You need to have an inactive account. Meaning that you need not to have an active Premium account in order to follow the steps. Alternatively you can make a new account.

Step 1
Go to Amazon Australia to your account and add an Indian address.

Name: Your name and surname
Street: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Int'l Airport Rd
City: Mumbai
State/Province/Region: Maharashtra
Postal Code: 400099
Phone Number: 1234567890

Step 2.
(Incognito mode recommended) Log in to Amazon India with your current Amazon AU account. Buy a Spotify card from FPC Retail (58% positive rating) on Amazon India. Spotify Premium Individual 12 month ₹1,189 (~A$21.15) and if want to get the maximum of 18 months buy the 6 month Spotify Premium ₹719 (~A$12.79)
(Revolut it's recommended, but any card should work).
Note: 12 months comes out cheaper per month than 18 months.

Step 3.
They will send you a code by email to the email you have in your Amazon account. (They will send you 2 email codes if you went for the 18 months).

Step 4.
Switch your VPN ON and set the location to India.
When the VPN is activated, go to Spotify. Go to "account" then "Edit Profile", change the country setting option to "India" it should appear.
If it does not appear, check if the VPN is activated correctly . Save Changes. This will now enable you to redeem your Indian Gift Card.

Step 5.
Copy and paste the gift card codes you have previously purchased. If you try to redeem more than 18 months of premium, you will receive an error stating that you cannot redeem more than 18 months of premium in advance.

The following hasn't been tested and most probably will apply for this deal too. Thanks to siberry for all the following converting steps.

Use Step 6 to Step 9 from this deal

    • Getting the same. Everything was good up until actually redeeming the voucher. Having the same issue for two different vouchers. Going to try again tomorrow

    • Same. "Something went wrong. Please try again, or go to our support."

Followed all the instructions. Any ideas?

    • Looked at recent comments from the Egypt thread and they are having the same problem with 12 month cards using different VPNs. I am now down $21. No shade on OP but since it seems to be no longer working for at least a few people, please take this down before more people throw away their money.

    • +3

Okay, I got it working in the end. This is what I had to do:
      * go to https://support.spotify.com/in-en/contact-spotify-support/
      * Say 'Can't redeem voucher'
      * The automated bot will eventually hand you off to an operator
      * Tell the operator you can't redeem your voucher. They will setup your account for you (or at least they did for me…). It took around 30 mins for they to finally do it though

Good luck all. But If you're reading this, and haven't bought a voucher, I wouldn't recommend you do it.

      • What do you mean set up?
After you screenshot picture, what did they ask?

        • I just did it via the chat. They asked for the account email and what region in India you live in. It was quite easy, but I would think they might start to get suspicious if lots of people do this

        • sorry, setup as in activate the voucher for you

      • +1

That’s great! I just wanted to add that I used NordVPN to connect to India and couldn’t redeem the voucher even after setting my location to India. I contacted support and got an authoritative Nazi asking a million questions and said that my region is showing as Germany!!! They didn’t help me at all.

@BobbyDazzler were you using a VPN when speaking to the support staff? Thanks

        • I was using a VPN when talking to the staff. I thought NordVPN closer their Indian servers?

          • @BobbyDazzler: Nah! It's not closer, NordVPN's Indian servers are still opener.

I have an update. It worked just not. Both the codes. Yesterday after your message, I took heart and talked to Spotify Support again. This time I got a chilled guy, who told me that they are having issues with their systems and to try 12 hours later.

      • I just did this with a 6 month gift card bought from G2A. Couldn't redeem so went to online chat. They asked for a photo of the receipt and gift card so I sent a screenshot of my confirmation email from G2A and a screenshot of the gift card code. They applied the code straight away so I went back to G2A and bought a 12 month gift card and sent them the code while I was still connected to the agent. Even though my account ends in .au and the gift cards had AUD on the receipt the agent didn't seem to care. They didn't ask any details about where I live or anything like that but I was still connected to India VPN while chatting. Also codes only took a few minutes to arrive as well.

    • I try to contact Spotfiy and they said both of my card has no value and has not been activated yet.

  • Any free VPNs that offer India? Don't want to go through the hassle of free trials/cancelling

    • Would also like to know. My vpn doesn't offer India :(

    • +1

I used Urban VPN which is free.

      • I already tried it on my phone, the only way to connect to India was to purchase license or do the 7 day free trial. Did you do trial or is India available on the PC version?

        • +1

I used the Edge extension on my PC and India was available in the list.

Dodgy as hell. Save your money folks. 3 things are red flags. India 58% and VPN

This seller on Amazon India ->
Spotify Premium 12 Month Subscription Gift Card - Email Delivery https://amzn.eu/d/2a0O3jM
seems more reliable than the one mentioned in the description.
The prices are same for 12 months + 6 months subscriptions even if buying directly from Spotify India 🇮🇳.

  • I currently have Spotify family plan, if I redeem it now. Am I going to lose currently mth? or the redemption will start from next pay date? Or should I redeem it when close to next pay date?

  • Love this. But luckily my FUPs card is still working!

    • Did you need kyc/id for fups card?

      • I signed up before it was a requirement. But yeh, you do now

        • ah dammit there aren’t anymore try cards now that don’t require kyc

Does having an Indian account influence music in anyway? I've never used Spotify, would this create Bollywood suggestions etc.?

    • +1

Yeah, I do get Indian music suggestions but easy to ignore & access your own playlists & any song worldwide

  • Do you have to have VPN on to listen to Spotify once subscribed?

    • I purchased & activated yesterday & you do not need to use VPN after to listen to spotify

  • Hi All, i get an immediate cancellation? no info/email etc..

I'm using edge extension Urban VPN proxy. Using suggested address. Using Amex CC to pay.

    Any suggestions?

  • +1

Dont buy it. I got both 6 and 12 months one but unable to activate it. Here is the respond from the Spotify representative - Thank you for waiting. As per checking the gift code that you have appears that it's not yet activated. Have you already tried to reach out to Amazon to check if they have activated the card? I have validated the code, it such that it doesn't show any store value possible it hasn't been activated yet. In this case, I highly suggest you reach back Amazon support to get this fix. Whatever, instruction they may provide please let us know so we can help.

  • Not related to spotify:
    Can anyone please help:
I bought yearly subscription overseas but if trying to buy anothing on Amazon asking for a delivery fee not treating as paid subscription.
Do i need to change anything in settings. Its currently now set to Australia.
    TIA

    • You have to create an Indian shipping address and choose this on checkout.

      • Check the previous page if you need any Indian addresses. I have listed a few

  • Worked fine for me as per instructions, thanks OP!!

    • Mind if I ask you when did you purchase your gift card?

      • It took about 15 minutes to arrive

        • +1

Mine arrived within half an hour as well but I cannot activate it in Spotify. I contact Spotify in India and they said the card has not been activated.

          • @alantsang2: Purchased mine around an hour ago, connected to VPN, set location as India in Spotify (via web), then went to the redeem page and it went through.

          • @alantsang2: I had the same issue so I reached out to Spotify customer chat and they advisor that it was a valid code but not activated, the representative activated and applied it for me. I just needed to send him the Amazon screenshot.

            • @D3nt85: Thanks for the tips. The Spotify representative told me to ask Amazon to request the seller to activate the gift card. I will try again now and ask Spotify to activate it.

  • I had to chat to support but after sending the screenshot of the Amazon order they set it up for me!

  • Seems like a hit-and-miss for some.

Worked for me. Paid $21.88 for 12 months. Received code 20min after purchase.
Followed the instructions exactly as described in this deal.

  • +2

Worked for me. Funny how Westpac allows me to make payments for giftcards on Amazon India, but puts a block on my card due to 'suspicious activity' tryin to pay for a meal while in New Zealand.

    • What VPN did you used?

  • I bought both 6-month and 12-month gift cards from Amazon. Both were delivered but did not work with Spotify. Got the error message "Something went wrong. Please try again, or go to our support."

  • Is this out of stock to anyone else?
If I view this from Amazon. In without logging in it displays pricing… but the moment I log in (both Incognito mode or without), it says the item is no longer currently available

    • -1

      U need an Indian address

  • Got the "Something went wrong. Please try again, or go to our support." like some others on a 12 month code, thankfully after about 30 mins on a live chat the operator added it to my account for me and all is well!

    Cheers OP!

  • Frustrating, got the vouchers no problem. Couldn't activate (VPN was activated, Incognito mode) Went on live chat like others suggested and explained situation. After 40 minutes they said it's because I'm in Australia, that it won't work, but they confirmed that the voucher codes were fine. This is despite the VPN being on. Go figure.

    • Did they apply it to your account? I guess they can see your IP address history

      • I tried to activate it one more time on the account page, and it finally worked this time. Unsure why it was so finnicky.

  • Had to do chat and screenshot the email. Otherwise all good. I did this with VPN activated just to be sure.

  • Nord VPN has India as destination now. So can use Nord.

As for as code, it took me 8 hours to work. Code delivered in 15 mins but wasn’t working until I finally got email from Amazon about delivery of package. Which is strange as this is electronic delivery. But took about 7 hours for Amazon to send that delivery email.

  • Hello everyone,
Apologies for silly question. I'm unfamiliar with these type of spotify cards. Comments suggest you all be receiving 'Codes' however upon checkout Amazon only refers to 'physical' delivery of card. For peace of mind I guess I just ignore and expect codes to be eventually delivered by email after few hours? I've just made payment and confirmation came through shortly after. Many thanks for your reassurance and have a great day ahead:)

    • If you bought the cards linked in the OP it’ll be digital / email delivery (but you still need to choose an Indian address on checkout).

      • Many thanks @zonra for your response. Have now received codes. I'm now struggling to change the country in Spotify as option is grayed out with country I had set it up with in the past. I'm sure my Urban VPN is set to India. Thanks for any suggestions.

  • It still wouldnt let me change the Country in my profile after VPN is activated. (note Find my Ip says I am in india and nothing else is open)
I clicked on the information link below and it said I have to change my payment details to a card thats issued to that country and then I will be able to.

Its via paypal. Can I change my payment address in Paypal and fix this? I cancelled my current plan and no longer bills to Paypal to see if that helps.

Anyone else found this and got around it?

    • Do you have a trial or active plan currently?

      • I do have a active plan. I cancelled it to see if I can change the country once it expires.

        • Once you cancel you need to contact support to have them move you back to the free plan to be able to change

  • Hi, Can anyone change their location back to Australia or is the option greyed out like mine?

    • Click Manage your plan>Subscribe>scroll down to change country.

      • According to comments from this thread, it will reduce the months of the subscription so I didn't bother changing it. Did you change it back to Australia and went fine? I realise I prefer the Australian suggestions than the Indian ones. But it's not a biggie if I can't change.

        • Yeah it will reduce the length of the subscription if you change back to Australia. Believe it goes from 18 months down to 12 months

  • Worked for me - bought both the annual + 6 month codes (to redeem at same time as I'm lazy), $34.21 on my Macquarie card.
Emails with codes arrived within 30 minutes.

Used Urban VPN in Edge, redeemed and all good to go for 18 months.

  • Couldn't get Amazon India to accept my card. Ended up using G2A to buy a 12 month premium gift card. Was more expensive @ $28 but I could use paypal. Took 24 hours to redeem once I changed from Australia to India using Nord VPN. This is the G2A link

    https://www.g2a.com/n/spotify-india

    • I used my Wise card last year - not sure if things have changed since then.

  • Is it possible to get 1 month or 6 months

  • Thanks OP, worked for me without problems

  • Just for anyone interested in converting to an Aus family plan, it will reduce the time remaining to just over 6 months.

  • Still working, no customer support required, 20 minute from ordered to redeemed. ty ty! So good

  • Did everyone go through to step 6-9? or not necessary?

    • Only if you want family. I did not.

      • Cheers

  • +1

So from the other comments, it seems that if I change my location back to Australia, it reduces the subscription from 12 months to 6 months? I'm happy to sacrifice 6 months if i can get compatibility with carplay and other services that usually wouldn't work if the country was still set to India. Just confirming this is the case though?

    • Carplay is working fine for me…

      • same

        • Oh cool must’ve misread another comment then!!

  • Item was lost in delivery, apparently, lol. No idea if getting a refund is possible, bummer.

  • Thanks OP, got my code in 20 mins and everything went smoothly.

I've got some Indian recommendations on my homepage now but everything else is the same as it was before and I suspect everything will be smoothed out within a few weeks by the Spotify AI

  • Worked instantly and got the code in less than 5 minutes Going to upvote thanks !!!!!!!!

  • I admittedly don't know what revolut is, but can't see it as a payment option when trying this. Anything else I can try?

    • You can try any credit or debit card which allows currency conversion ie Bankwest, Macquarie etc etc Also Amazon IN can convert the INR to AUD for you and charge your card in AUD at the checkout which includes 0.4% there conversion fees so its gonna be something like $22.50

      • I'll have another look when I get back on my computer. I have a debit card with commonwealth, and that's it. Think that'll work?

Also, appeared the item was 'no longer available' but a search found another seller with what I think was the same item. Should be fine right?

  • Did this with success a few days ago, now ‘username or password is incorrect’?!

    Anyone got any ideas?

Annoyingly, my login is on an email addy I can’t access anymore

    • That would be super hard if you don't have access to the email anymore. As resetting password would send link to that email you used for Spotify.

      • Make sure you whitelist or turn off your pihole / Adblock. Spotify uses some poor things that get blacklisted (the ads I’m assuming etc)

    • Was getting this as well but I just VPN'd to India and reset my password albeit I have access to my email. Only other thing I can think of is make sure your system clock is correct. Think you're out of luck unless you go via their support.

      • Went to Spotify chat who said my email address had been changed?! Hacked through urban vpn?!

  • Just sign up to Spotify under Phillipines and create a new Google play account on a burner phone. Add Phillipines as your country on google play and use your Aus bank for the monthly debits (I used ING).

Single account was very cheap but I choose family for around $75 AUD and asked a few family members to pay me $10 for the year.

    • Were you still able to get Australian playlist?

    • can you use any debit / credit card? be cause normally where it's stuck is in AUS card payment being declined.

  • Thanks OP! Worked for me too.
FYI - Spotify India doesn’t include audiobook if this matters to you. I’d just started getting into audiobooks so was a bit disappointed but that’s probably partly why there’s a difference in price

    • You can continue step 6 to 9 to make your account become Australian again to gain the access of audiobooks.

The link in the post description was showing up as unavailable so I took a punt at this store: https://www.amazon.in/Spotify-Premium-Standard-Annual-Card/d…

Gift code arrived in minutes and worked like a charm.
