Warning: This Geo-Pricing deal requires purchasing Spotify gift cards from FPC Retail via Amazon India. This seller has a poor rating of 58% with many complaints of non-fulfilment. Since the gift cards are not fulfilled by Amazon India, you will be dealing with FPC Retail directly if anything goes wrong. — Moderator

Cheap Spotify Premium Individual with simple steps.

Cheaper than this popular deal

I spend a lot of my time and some of my money to check and test this deals, so please be kind and show some love.

Price Comparison (Australia prices vs India Prices)

Australia: Spotify Premium Individual A$12.99 per Month (Say What?)

India: Spotify Premium Individual 12 months ₹1,189 (~A$21.15). That's around ~A$1.76 per month. (That's the way)

Note: Spotify Premium Family it's not yet available on Amazon India

However you might be able to use siberry 's steps from this deal to convert

Edit: Important note. You need to have an inactive account. Meaning that you need not to have an active Premium account in order to follow the steps. Alternatively you can make a new account.

Step 1
Go to Amazon Australia to your account and add an Indian address.

Name: Your name and surname
Street: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Int'l Airport Rd
City: Mumbai
State/Province/Region: Maharashtra
Postal Code: 400099
Phone Number: 1234567890

Step 2.
(Incognito mode recommended) Log in to Amazon India with your current Amazon AU account. Buy a Spotify card from FPC Retail (58% positive rating) on Amazon India. Spotify Premium Individual 12 month ₹1,189 (~A$21.15) and if want to get the maximum of 18 months buy the 6 month Spotify Premium ₹719 (~A$12.79)
(Revolut it's recommended, but any card should work).
Note: 12 months comes out cheaper per month than 18 months.

Step 3.
They will send you a code by email to the email you have in your Amazon account. (They will send you 2 email codes if you went for the 18 months).

Step 4.
Switch your VPN ON and set the location to India.
When the VPN is activated, go to Spotify. Go to "account" then "Edit Profile", change the country setting option to "India" it should appear.
If it does not appear, check if the VPN is activated correctly . Save Changes. This will now enable you to redeem your Indian Gift Card.

Step 5.
Copy and paste the gift card codes you have previously purchased. If you try to redeem more than 18 months of premium, you will receive an error stating that you cannot redeem more than 18 months of premium in advance.

The following hasn't been tested and most probably will apply for this deal too. Thanks to siberry for all the following converting steps.

Use Step 6 to Step 9 from this deal

Account needs to be new or lapsed.

  • Worked, thx. Going to upvote now

  • I have the option of a family account for 2149 INR, I am in India right now, and shall I take the risk of getting the family account use in Australia when I am back?

  • So just to be clear, the cards can be activated within 12 months right, so if you bought 2 12-month cards could you activate the second one in 11 months and 20 days?

    • +1

I personally wouldn't trust a random third party seller on Amazon India for that long. Get the code, activate it asap, I say.

      • Understood, just trying to work out, do they run consecutively if you activate them at once?

        • Step 2.
(Incognito mode recommended) Log in to Amazon India with your current Amazon AU account. Buy a Spotify card on Amazon India. Spotify Premium Individual 12 month ₹1,189 (~A$21.15) and if want to get the maximum of 18 months buy the 6 month Spotify Premium ₹719 (~A$12.79)
          https://www.amazon.in/Spotify-Premium-Month-Subscription-Gif…

You can't stack beyond 18 months.
If you buy 12 months and 6 months you've maxed it out. 12+12 will result in an error.

          • @Morien: thanks and understood!
if it works this will be a big cost saving!

  • Delivery is taking for ages :/

    Lol

    • Blah, still waiting

200+ users, some poor seller randomly inundated, lol

Need an alternative to the incoming rubbish yt premium price hike, not sure if this is it or not either

May just be revance or that Spotify hack up above

    • Check spam …

  • +1

Gift cards now saying currently unavailable?

    • +2

make sure your delivery address is set to India

    • not enough to create a separate address, in Amazon, set the delivery address to the newly created India address.

Update: managed to churn off my existing A$12.99 p/m subscription immediately

    1. Went to https://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-sup…
    2. Requested a refund
    3. Because my plan automatically changed from Premium Student to Individual, it refunded $12.99 and put me on Spotify Free
    4. Changed country to India and applied annual promo code

Love your work! Did the same and worked for me 😊

    • I signed up with Google Play so it won't let me cancel immediately and it doesn't look like you can do it on Google's end

    • Nice. Bot chatting so no hassle dealing with an actual human.

  • Took about an hour for the code to arrive.
    All working now. Thanks!

  • Redeemed 12 months and tried switching back to Duo in AU will only be valid until May 24. Maybe better off getting 2 x individual instead

    • I did the math for you. You are right Duo is worse value, but Family is still better value (though increased effort I guess).

      • Individual account = $21.15 for 365 days = $0.0579 per day
      • Duo account = $21.15 for 142 days = $0.1489 per day ($0.0745 per person)
      • Family account = $21.15 for 105 days = $0.2014 per day ($0.0336 per person)
  • Use this and dump YouTube?

    • +1

Youtube Premium offers more than just music

    • Get both, highly recommend :)

  • Received codes in 15 minutes and redeemed successfully. 😁

For me, I'm trying to buy 2 12 month cards, and the order goes through (money appears as pending on my cc) and then automatically cancels itself.

Very bizarre. Is anyone else having this issue? I've tried with 3 different cards.

    • Yes- amount says pending on my credit card and amazon india says order cancelled- I'm confused and not keen to try again in case I get charged again. Probably been an hour and a half since I placed the order.

      • Nice to know it’s not just me! I tried like 6 times, no change unfortunately. I also tried without VPN’ing to Amazon India (which doesn’t seem like it’s necessary).

Let me know if you get it working :)

        • I tried a second time- didnt change anything from the first time and it worked. Good luck

      • Make sure that not only do you create a new Turkish email address, but that you set the delivery address of this order to that address.
        Mine went through as described.
        OP is a legend.

  • What's an easier country to subscribe through? One without gift cards. I'm not as cluey as the average OzBargainer, but I'm still turned off by full price.

    • None anymore, a lot of these countries eg Turkey are banning international credit cards so you must have a local one in order to pursue the cheaper deals.

  • The only good thing about Spotify is, its amazing playlists, you can control the playback from your app if it's playing on your PC. I wish they do HighRes and I'll bite

    • +1

I went to Apple music for a while for the high quality but sadly eventually stopped because it costs too much (also it is missing a lot of songs for some reason!). With this price I am happy to come back to Spotify and just use it as a cheap easy way to access a wide range of music.

  • Is Duo available using this method?

  • I cant seem to change country, its greyed out.

    Anyone else had this issue?

      • +1

        Got it to work!
        Thank you

        • how long does it take until get response email from spotify requesting a refund ?

          • +1

            @NinjaSniper85: It os instant.

It appears to be a chatbot, you just type "refund" in and it goes through the prompts.

            • @colt75: Bruh Firefox doesn't support it :| chrome time :|

              Thanks :)

    • Does this help?

      Got Premium?
You can travel anywhere without having to change your account settings.

If you still want to change your country or region, you need to update your payment method to one that's issued there:

Log in to your account page.
Under Account, click Update next to your payment method.
Enter a new payment method that was issued in your new country or region.
The changes will take effect from your next billing date.

  • All worked for me. Thanks very much @Scrooge McDeal

  • +2

    Thanks All work :D
Now i am faking living India
    I have a per month subscription that costs $1.76 = $21.15 1 year baby :D , so I don't need to pay $12.99 per month. :D

    @Scrooge McDeal Thanks :D

  • All worked as per instruction. Thanks OP!

    • How long between purchase and code delivery? Nearly two hours here :/

      • 40 minutes for me.

        • Cheers

3.5 hours here, still no good haha

      • +1

Check spam, that's where it was for me .

  • Cheers OP! Got premium for a year. Noticed I couldnt switch my country back to Aus?

    • +2

Yea you have to wait 1 year to change it back enjoy :D

      • haha im ok with that!

  • +1

Thx OP. Worked like a charm. Seems like you can't change back to Australia after switching to India but it doesn't matter.

Code arrived in 1hr as I paid via Commbank debit card no drama.

  • +1

Sticking with my YouTube premium for a bit more $ but includes music and video ad free. The good about Spotify is can work on both Echo and Nest speakers.

  • Worked for me, code came within a few minutes.

  • +1

Like YouTube Vanced there are Spotify Modded apks for android now

But if you need to use Spotify on other devices like iOS or on the TV then this deal like the Turkey/Argentina YouTube Premium one is worth it. If you aren't locked into Spotify ecosystem (they usually have more up to date offerings) then I recommend just getting the YouTube Premium as it includes YouTube Music.

    • Can you get cheap YouTube premium somewhere?

      • I think the guy who posted this deal has done a youtube one, I got premium for around $20 for a whole year through an ozB post

  • Been over 2 hours and haven’t received an email with codes. I got an email saying it has been dispatched…

edit: code was in my spam folder

  • Worked, thanks

  • +2

Gift card and redemption worked fine.

When I followed Siberry's post I managed to get Spotify family as well, however it reduced the 12 months down to 3 and a half months. Oh well still a lot cheaper than what I was paying!

  • +1

Thankyou kind Sir . Tried and worked !

  • Damn, I only got the other deal a couple of months ago, I take it that means i cant use this for awhile.

  • thanks. got one.

  • Currently on annual plan with Pakistan
Unfortunately there's no wiggles available much to the disappointment of my toddler

Does Spotify India have access to the wiggles

    • What is Spotify India? OP said to use Spotify.com

    • Can confirm i’ve got The Wiggles on Spotify from this deal.

      • thanks

  • I cant seem to change my country it only allows Australia? Im on a free already

    • +1

The option will only show up when you’re on VPN to India

  • Thanks so much OP @Scrooge McDeal for helping me to stop throw $$ at Apple Music

  • How do I get rid of all the Bollywood recommendations…
    I can’t switch back to Aus…

    • I'm afraid your spotify is now in India and hence bollywood recommendations, all your playlists and similar music still there.

    • Bollywood songs have some Rappers too, It will make you feel like ABCD - Any Body Can Dance 😜

    • Yeah look, Indian version of the wiggles wasn’t great…

In future I’ll go back to the student deal although it is almost x5 cheaper

  • Thank you so much OP and @Scrooge McDeal

  • Can someone confirm if video podcasts work on an Indian subscription?

    • +1

      Yes they do.

  • Thank you to the op 😍
Hope i can do the similar with YouTube

  • Will these work on an existing premium Spotify account to extend it?

  • Log into amazon.in with an amazon.com.au account? It asks me to create a separate account for .in when I try to buy anything.

  • Great effort on the post and good warning by the mods. Just want to flag to be aware this stuff isn’t risk free as a bunch of us got burnt on the Spotify Egypt g2a giftcards recently with dud giftcards, hope same doesn’t happen here.

  • After paying (bought 1 12 months and 1 6 months), the order doesnt seem to appear on amazon eventhough already confirmed and pending on credit card. Anybody experience the same?

Normally would receive a order confirmation on email as well

  • Code received within 15 mins and activated without any issues. Thanks Op!

    • Here I am, 14 hours later and still no code

    • It's not letting me redeem the code. I had an Australian account and I changed the location to India. But it still doesn't accept it.

      • Same here

  • Wouldn't let me pay with my default CC :( and it won't let me change the payment method even though they've sent me a link to supposedly do that…

    • Had to use Revolut and it went through fine with an India address as the billing address

  • +1

Or you could use site like G2A to get India code more reliably. Sure you pay more for it but compare to Australia pricing you save a lot anyway.

  • +2

I can share a few addresses & post codes.
    St.Joseph School Road - SantaCruz, Juhu : 400049
    Bhavan's College - Andheri : 400058,
    St. Anne's School - Nariman Point - 400020
    St Andrews School - Bandra - 400050.
Convent of Jesus & Mary School - Fort 400001.
Let me know if any more needed. All addresses are Mumbai based.🙂

  • Can you do this with a duo account?

  • Do you need to change your account to Indian Amazon just to make the purchase??

EDIT: all good. I got the answer when I tried to purchase it. Doesn't let me! Says that it needs an Indian address to proceed

  • Mine is still on processing, paid with my Amex 🫠

  • Bought though g2a yesterday. $9.xx for 3months as a test and then another 12 months for $27.??. Got codes in seconds and all working

  • +1

Anyone know why this comes up when I try to redeem? Something went wrong. Please try again
I've set to India, and on VPN
