    Relatable

YouTube short of it in action. The pen that is.

Oh? This pen must have come from the famous Pen Island

      Also known as Pen Is..

      Forgot to turn down volume

      Ooooooooooooh shiiiiiiiiiii~

    • +2

      HELLO HAMBINI FANS!!!!

  • +4

Why design a mini pen, and then make it super thick? If its for travel surely thinner would be better?

    • +1

why even use a pen? I have blood and fingers

      • +2

I guess it's for those times you run out of blood or fingers? hate it when that happens

        • You need to look further afield. When you need to fill in a customs declaration when returning to Australia, that customs officer has all of his fingers.

  • +5

You were ready to pay 70$ for this? You need to change your username to Dyson V15 detect.

  • -1

Serious question, how does one of these for $34.66 - $70 compare to 4 of these for $1.98, besides the shipping time?

    • It's as quick to get something from Temu than something from Amazon Germany…

      • +3

Probably pretty close, but yeah, the Temu ones are actually more compact (85mm) than the overpriced plastic one posted. I'm still curious why people would buy one. It looks nice, probably very well made but at the end of the day it's a biro…

        • The Pico is lacquer-coated metal I think, so it should be heavy/fun to fidget with. But those M22 refills suck ass honestly

          • -1

@monky: It's a nifty little thing and if you have money to piss away, who cares? Just doesn't seem congruent with the OzB spirit when there's heaps of cheaper options. Three people (so far) aren't happy with the comparison though 🤣

        • +2

people have pen-is-phillia. also why there's still a market for high quality fountain pens these days. the age old example of why people buy luxury high end cars instead of a toyota (or whatever the cheapest car manufacturer is these days…). Fulfils the same purpose, just in more comfort and style…

you must be new if you don't think these posts fall within ozbargain 'post perimeters'. Even the money-ladden like a good bargain. Bargains aren't just for people who live pay check to pay check. A bargain is when ANY item is discounted significantly, not when what you perceive as good value (let's face it that's different for everyone) goes on discount.

          • @plentifoo: I never said it didn't constitute a deal, nor that because a cheaper & somewhat similar item was much cheaper it was a bad deal, just that spending $30++ for a plastic pen (not a Cartier fountain pen) that performs no better or worse than a 50c biro was not in the spirit of Ozbargain.

            • +3

@The Judge: It’s not just a plastic pen though. Again how you perceive value in an item. You see a pen embedded with jewellery (I.e. a cartier pen) as something that adds to its value and therefore justifiable for price over a Temu plastic biro.

Other people see a lacquer coated metal pen with well thought out design cues as added value.

They all serve the same writing function.

        • +1

Here’s the thing. On this site, people post good deals on products. People who want to buy the products benefit from that post. Then someone like you comes along as says “who would buy that, it’s a biro.”

How about you simply not go to items you have no interest in, and then don’t leave stupid opinions, that way people might assume you’re intelligent rather than have you disprove that up front.

          Waste. Of. Oxygen. Do better.

          • -1

@foursaken: I never asked who would buy it, I asked how is it better than a cheaper item that does exactly the same thing, there's no difference in functionality ie a light or a screwdriver head etc. That question remains unanswered. My advice to you would be to read & comprehend comments more carefully instead of getting all buttmad because someone dared question the value of a deal, on a site dedicated to the discussion of deals.

PS putting full stops in between words doesn't do anything besides infer that a whiny Redditor typed them.

PPS member since 2013 and zero deals posted. Do better!!

  • +3

It's a fantastic, eyecatching design for sure, but be aware you will be stuck using M22 refills: They're relatively expensive, and have a tendency to dry start if you don't use them for a couple days.

  • This wont give me free delivery with my AU prime am i doing something wrong

    • +1

Try using the app or another browser. Worked fine for me :)

  • +1

I bough it after watching the retraction video.

Cancelled after I read the rest of the comments.. 🤣

  • +1

If only the blue were discounted…

Thanks OP grabbed one as a gift for someone I know loves bright orange, and is right into their stationary.

  • If i lose 10 full size inexpensive pens per year how many of these minature expensive pens will i lose?

    • +1

None. Because you will be chasing each mofo that borrows it.

Or you never lend it out.

  • great pen for the upper management tradie

  • +1

Great pen and still works (have had for 5+ years). Imperial blue colour is the way to gooo
