  • Geez I fell for the Harvey Norman deal

    • +14

They were better cameras, and cheaper (2 for $58).

      • -4

Either wait for a better deal, timing of which we don’t have any control over or grab this combo right now 😃

    • +2

Mine are still on backorder from HN deal…

      • Same here. Emailed them for update and no response.

        • mine was cancelled by HN

      • +1

        Got mine last weekend

    • What was the HN deal? Curious to know thanks

      • +4

        2 for 1 $58

        Also C210

    • +1

Got the notification and picked up today. Great!

    • +1

      HN was c210

      Im still waiting for mine

      • same here, ordered on 27th/Dec, still waiting

        • me too, got last update on 29th or so about being delayed. haven't heard after that :/
In the mean time, I found a monkey vision camera from Bunnings clearance for $12 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/818581), it is really good for the price except not supporting RSTP or ONVIF :/

  • Do you need subscription to watch the streams when u are away from home ?

    • +5

Nope. If you insert an SD card, you can also watch past recordings for free.

      • Thanks ,,What about the power .. are they USB?

        • No they aren't unfortunately.

        • It uses 9V DC from a plug pack.

    • You can stream even without SD cards from your phone via the Tapo app. I use the c210 variant as baby monitors

      • Can this camera be connect to the tapo hub, and save recording to the hub's SD card? Or does it only work with the SD card in the camera itself.?

  • +2

Can these be used as a baby monitor of sorts? How does the mic work, can you stream including audio?

    • Yes you can. YouTube it for details and features

    • +2

I think fork out a little extra for the C210, I read they are much better for baby monitor purposes.

      • Currently the c210 are $78.48 with 11% discount when buying two items at Amazon.

    • yes, I use C210 for baby monitor

C200 will be fine though, only slightly lower resolution

  • can i use the kasa app for these?

    • No, the Tapo app.

    • As jv said no you need the Tapo app
But anything you use in kasa can be used in Tapo

  • +1

I have one of this model, and it is fine. Nothing outstanding, but does the job. You can subscribe for $4.95 per month to get extra features (storage of motion capture snapshots on their cloud etc.).

    Unofficial Home Assistant Integration here
    https://community.home-assistant.io/t/custom-component-tapo-…

    • Does this have anything to do with Google home?

Limitation of streaming on Google home / phone for ~5 minutes is frustrating.

  • This is not water resistance?

    • +3

Not recommended to take them swimming.

      • +1

These are rated for indoors, so just not safe for outdoor pools.

    • it's for indoors

    • Indoors, but I used it out doors with a wooden cover, its been 4 years, still going strong.

      • +1

        with a wooden cover

        User name checks out…

  • +7

Any of you who do not know about this… I have two of these mounted under the eve outsite running for 2 years and work without any issues. No I did not install them. Previous owner installed them and when I bought the property it came with the cameras. I had my doubts about having a internal camera exposed to elements. But I was wrong and it was going strong without any issues.

    • +1

Hope you made sure the pervious owner doesnt still have access to the feed.

      • +2

        pervious owner

        apt spelling

        • +1

Can't believe you landed a neg vote for this comment!

          • +1

@ESEMCE: yup, I can only surmise whoever negged it was too dumb to know what "apt" means, and assumed I was picking on the spelling.

            • +1

@noz: Suffice to say, I had a chuckle at least.

      • These are easy to reset. It has a button. First thing I did was to factory reset and attach to my account :-). These camera's does not seem to be attached to the account level like tuya.

  • +2

should put in the title that these are C200,

C210 has slightly higher resolution at 3MP

    Tapo C200 Tapo C210
    Resolution 1080P (1920*1080) 3 MP (2304*1296)
    • -1

For indoor use, 1080P is fine…

It also streams better when accessing remotely…

    • +1

Just regret not getting the 2x C210 for $58 deal as I thought it was C200 lol I was walking past harvey norman that day

      • TGG priced matched HN for me

  • 2 Pack TP-Link Tapo Pan/Tilt Wi-Fi Camera, $78 Delivered

It's been this price for a couple of months now.

  • +2

I have 2 of the C200s in use at home and the latest firmware upgrade bricked one of my cameras.
When they are working, they are ok. It can also integrate with Google Home for viewing.

  • +1

looking for solar powered model for outdoor if anyone came across a good deal.

    • -1

      looking for solar powered model

      Won't work at night….

      Do you mean battery powered?

      • +2

oops..yup, I mean solar+battery powered that doesn't need a power source. Found Dzees 2 packs for about the same price but not sure how reliable the brand is..

  • Are these compatible with Google Home?

  • Looks like the 2 pack is sold out but the singles still available at $3 more per unit.

  • +3

Still waiting for C210 HN deal…

    • me too

  • How does this compare to the Kogan cameras?

    • this is better

  • C200 are meh - grainy night vision and they moved on real quick from supporting the v1 hardware (now v3 I think, so three different firmware versions around).
Can confirm they run OK on RTSP with Frigate & HomeAssistant (and a Coral for good measure), but they're prone to motion blur at anything faster than a fast walk.
My HN C2100 order (as in-place replacements for these) got cancelled.

  • Back in stock and for the same price :$

  • Can this camera recording be saved to a hub(H200) instead of the camera 's SD card? Because i already have a hub with 3 C400 camera

    • Don’t think you can do it as the Hub (H200) only allows cameras C420 and C400 and doorbell D230.
