I’ve been buying these for under $200 for the last 18 months. Keep an eye out for deals

    • didnt you buy the 4TB internal Samsung SSD for $210 ish ?? that was like month or so ago ?

I’m a professional photographer and videographer. I buy data like it’s going out of fashion. I price the 2TB SSDs into my video shoots as it’s easier to buy and send them to my clients that need the raw clips than it is to upload that much to a cloud. I used to use HDDs but AusPost isn’t the most gentle with parcels and I had a few situations where HDDs were arriving no longer readable. Since shifting to SSDs haven’t had those issues and the speed difference is so worth it!

I actually just went and looked at my last 3 months worth of data purchases.
        4 x 22TB WD Reds + 2 x Samsung 990 4TB m.2 SSD + Synology 4 Bay DiskStation DS923+ Diskless NAS
        Another 2 x Samsung 990 4TB m.2 SSDs for my rendering desktop
6 x 4TB Samsung T7 Shield (working drives that I edit off and do on-location file dumps to)
3 x 2TB Samsung T7 Shield (provided to my clients with about 1.5TB of raw content and the finished edits)
3 x 1TB Samsung T7 Shield (provided to my team to dump content to during shoots)
2 x 18TB WD Elements (quarterly ‘finished content’ backup. Mirrored and sent to 2 different locations for storage)

So yeah, I buy a bit of storage 😬

  • Rip off price

  • still waiting on my $86.20 1TB T7 from Amazon US via Amazon AU https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/822414.
I also remember 1TB Shield T7 being similar price ($88 I think) in the BingLee deal (actually I hesitated and missed out- found it https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/816120).

but regular T7 claims drop protection up to 6ft. so yeah that's enough for me.

I got in quick on the Amazon US deal but after ordering delivery estimate was mid February.
