    2TB RED is $142.84
    Very Good Price
I am sure red SSD is running faster than other colours

    • Thanks, updated deal to include 2TB.

    • Omg is 2TB ATL?

    • +1

Are you referring to red cars run faster than other colours? :p

      • +5

If its red, it runs three times as fast!

        • Oh that red, horn, 3 times of speed!

      • Nah.. everything red runs hotter and so reliability is a concern 🤣

  • Great price. Just note the delivery time (which is says early feb for me)

    • The 2TB has a shorter delivery date of early January.

  • -5

I heard, these might leave you seeing red…

What's the difference between the "International" version vs the "normal" version? (Shown below)

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B087DG39V8/ref=syn_sd_onsite_de…

    • +5

      US vs AU stock.

      Main differences would be warranty.

Samsung Australia won't touch them; you'll have to deal with Samsung US or Amazon. (Amazon will usually take care of any issues).

      • +1

So if there is a problem noticed when unpacking, Amazon will take care right?
What if there is an issue later? Will Amazon help anyway

  • Got one! thx OP

  • Any good 4tb deals?

    • 4TB comes with shield. Looks ugly.
      get 2* 2TB

  • Any differences in kingston and smasung? Roughly the same price.

    • Would you rather buy something made in Korea or Jamaica?

  • +1

Ridiculous price for the 2tb, grabbed two

  • Sorry, just a query as this is the first time I am purchasing an international product through Amazon AU.. this $142 is it AUD or USD?

    • +2

Prices are in AUD, as it on the Amazon AU site.

  • Thank you

  • Is this good for Tesla dashcam and Sentry mode recording?

    • +2

Yes. It is a recommended replacement by a few youtubers.

  • Bought 2TB, thx OP

  • Thank you very much @RichardL !

I just need one for my cinema camera. 🥰

    Expected 18 Jan.

  • +1

I would imagine officeworks won't price beat this being US stock?

  • Cheers. One of the things I have needed for a while but have been watching ozbargain for. Ordered

  • How does this compare to other hard drives apart from price i believe it’s a good price compared to here but what about the actual hard drive.
I have a wd elements basic storage 2 tb which I back up my cd collection and was think of this one on post to back up on another.

    • +2

The Samsung T7 is portable SSD (Solid State Drive). Your WD Elements is most likely a HDD (Hard Disk Drive).

For reliability and speed, the SSD is the better option (SSD are usually more expensive than HDD).

      • It would only be for storage but which of the two hard drives if I want to connect it to a laptop or pc and play music through them which be better. I take ssd last longer and works better.
I already own the wd elements so was just thinking of another cheap hard drive which might not be that cheap but possibly good one to get, compared to au price seems good

      • Could you use this for a Xbox x console or better to get the actual card one for that console

        • You can but only for Xbox one games.

          • @Dan83: Does the one for Xbox x games ever come up on sale and best price just curious or is it not really needed as Xbox x has 1tb already

            • @bwatt72: I’ve not really seen it on sale but then I haven’t been looking either. It’s pretty expensive. I’ve used external ssd before and don’t mind it can’t play current gen as there’s so many good last gen games always to play anyway.

              • @Dan83: Plus I don’t think it’s super necessary with 1tb allowing for lots of games to be installed.

              • @Dan83: I have Xbox one/xbox x games and also just Xbox x only games plus a ton of Xbox one games so not end of world.
I just not sure what the need for Seagate Xbox cards are for is 1tb not enough?
Why would you need such card and reasons?
I had my Xbox one hooked up with a 2tb hardware not no idea what it has on it or what it did do or ever checked just hooked it up and forgot about it.
I just not sure if Xbox x is really needed.

      • Sorry to bug you on an old post but can i ask, when you say "reliability" - what does that specifically refer to? I keep seeing 'reliability' come up in my research for a good external hard drive but can't find any clearer expansion on what that means. Like is it reliable connection? reliable in terms of how long it lasts?

        • +1

SSD uses flash memory whereas HDD drives uses a spinning disk.

The spinning drives are more prone to failure, especially if you drop or damage them (especially as an external storage device).

Depending on your use-case, each has their pros and cons.

If you're looking for something to take around with you; then I would recommend a Portable SSD.

If you looking for high capacity backup storage that won't be used often (ie kept at home and only plug in to store data); then I would recommend the External Hard Drive.

EDIT: Reliability also is dependent on the brand/model; so best to do your research before buying.

          • @RichardL: Ahhh thank you so much!! I could totally get away with HDD then. I only use them like once a month at most. Any chance you have a recommendation for that? Preferably 1TB

            • @Buyer0fBargains: At 1TB, you might as well pay a bit extra for the SSD; due to prices begin so close.

              • 1TB HDD are usually $50-$80
              • 1TB SSD are usually $80-$100
  • Great deal thanks. Picked up a 2tb.

  • not too shabby

  • Tempted to get the 2tb red or should i hold… hmmm wonder what this price will be in 6 months to a year haha

  • Yeah, Feb delivery is nuts.

    • Ordered as i was looking just the other day at these, but yeah February.

  • This is a better deal than anything else similar in Australia for Boxing Day.

  • Can you use this to install steam games and play thru laptop

  • Bought 2. Red goes faster.

  • They will be sent in a brown paper bag like everything else they send

    • It will be in a box inside, plus ok to fall 6ft so hopefully be ok

    • non padded plastic* bag. But yes you were correct

      • So plastic bag? And is the drive come in box? So still protected? Don’t get amazon sent every poorly these days no matter what it is

  • did anyone get an order confirmation yet? i ordered before but still no update if processing

    • Received mine yesterday

  • Anyone still got theirs shipped, mine says still on backorder when it's supposed to deliver soon

    • Still waiting, hasn't been shipped yet. Says ETA Feb 15

  • Received today.

Annoyingly needed to move a bunch of large files onto a new laptop at work today so could have used it too.
