        • Wasn't it previously a dead end yesterday, how did you managed to get them to sway? Multiple different chat sessions?

I was strongly considering cancelling my order pending @Hybroid's update, but this might be worth a shot now. Mine has not shipped yet.

          • +1

@duckduckering: yeah no idea, just a new chat session. maybe it was back in stock when i did it and he was able to sort another?

    • may i ask how u speak to them about the replacement of the card? Mine should be arrive around the end of this month, do u just call the customer service and ask them?

      • you could probably call them but I never have, ive always opened the chat to speak with them. It is a bit hard to find, as the 'contact us' part is written really small at the bottom of this page:
        https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/help/customer/display.html?node…
then select 'something else' then 'contact us' again then 'start chatting now'

        • OK thanks for that i will try to do that

  • Hello does anyone get correct order yet? I'll be receiving mine tomororw but since nobody get their 4070ti so far, so it really concerns me….

    • +1

Got my order today and it's a 4060 ti, no replacement options given.

      • +1

damn….this is so disguesting, sorry to hear that. So there is only refund option then? what a waste of time

        • +1

We should all escalate this to their management team. The same 4060 TIs that are being returned end up being sold to someone else as a "4070 TI". It's a complete waste of time.

          • +1

@boomersgold: not sure how to do that.

but just got my 'GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Gaming X SLIM WHITE 8G' now, returning the card tomorrow. (tried to ask replacement, and the guy said no becaues it's temporary out of stock'. so refund is my only option

  • +1

Somehow I thought I'd be the exception - hoping I was.. Received 4060 Ti instead of advertised.

Returned on the same day received and no replacement options available.

  • +1

Update: After feedback in this thread, I tried to cancel before it had been shipped but it would not let me do so, as it "will soon be shipped."

It was actually shipped a couple days after that.

It arrived today. Gaming X Slim White 4060 ti. Shocking.

  • +1

Same thing happened to me. I reached out to them twice to ask them to verify and check that the correct card was sent, they assured me they would leave a note on my order and reach out to the team in charge, still ended up with a 4060ti instead. Amazon you f*ing amateurs.

    • Plot twist! I managed to twist their arm to fulfil the order! I'm returning the 4060ti and ordering the same model but from a 3rd party seller for 1369$ and amazon will credit back $417 to my Amazon account as the price difference from the 949$ initial discounted price! I've already made the order and they'll refund me after I receive the new card. I'll keep you posted if that actually happens.

      • Very interesting…. My replacement card says it will arrive feb 13th to march 23rd. Im wondering if I end up with another 4060ti that one of you guys has returned.
I have also have notes on my order to confirm it is the correct card. If you can pm me more info that would be great, I'd love to negotiate the same deal.

        • if it's the same listing, it's likely going to be another 4060ti, even though I wish for you to be the 4070ti. No magic here, I just pounded on them the fact that I warned them several times about it, I linked them this thread to share that dozens of people have had the same experience, that it's amateur level of doing business, etc and I kept going until a point where one of the rep (I went through 3 of them) offered to buy another model from a 3rd seller and to refund me the difference. I then sorted out the details of what that would look like with the dude and voila. It's supposed to be arriving tomorrow and allegedly amazon will then ask the seller to refund me the price difference.

So for now I'm not out of the wood yet, even though Amazon promises they would honor the price difference. I'll believe it when I see it, I'll update here after.

          • @Baradhur: ooooh, if the difference was coming from amazon i would believe it, but a third party seller isnt going to just give you $417 right?

            • @XeKayeM: From what I understood, amazon will arrange themselves with the seller for the refund. It's very unusual to proceed like that coming from amazon, so let's see what happens. Worst case, I send it back and get a refund!

              • @Baradhur: Aha! success! I got them to refund me the $949 they were holding onto for the replacement. Then I ordered the card for $1369 from the third party and when it ships, amazon is going to refund me the $419 difference between the two.
Legend mate, I ended up pasting in your comment to the chat and they sorted it for me. A new, actual 4070TI from another seller will arrive Thursday.

                • @XeKayeM: Let's cross all fingers and toes and pray for a happy end

                  • @Baradhur: You guys are legend! I got them to do the same, and Amazon agreed to refund the price difference for the same card.

                    • @Mandalorians: excellent!
thought i got the last one they had. Was it $1369? or the one from computer alliance i think for $1372ish

                    • +3

@Mandalorians: Well the card came through today (it was the correct one!), I reached out to amazon, and they granted me 417$ back to my amazon gift card account. I would have preferred an actual refund to my bank account, but at least they respected their words and gave me the money back in some form. So success!

That's probably the best value for money I'll ever get for the 40 series generation. I wanted to pick a discounted 4080 for 1500, but I can't realistically justify spending 150+% more money for 20-30% perf increase at best. Guess I'll wait for the 50 series to come out and buy a 5080 at that time.

                      • @Baradhur: Can confirm, after returning the item a couple days ago, I saw reports on this thread of people getting partial gift card refunds.

I started a chat with another agent and success. I did try and ask if they would do an actual card refund and they would not. I don't mind in this instance as I am planning to buy more PC parts in the coming weeks.

In my case, I ordered from "Wireless 1 eShop" for the price of $1345. Amazon agreed to credit the amount of $395.70

Just thought I'd report another success.

                        • @duckduckering: thats awesome, I'm glad people are able to get what was ordered now. It took Amazon a bit of convincing though but they appear to offer it now to anyone who asks. Unsure how I was able to get a refund to my card though instead of a credit.

So my situation is interesting. I have been told by Amazon chat that the correct GPU might still arrive by Wednesday. If it doesn’t arrive by Wednesday then I’ll get refunded and I can keep the 4060 TI. Very sceptical. But will see what happens.

    • Interesting, did you insist on a replacement and have they claimed it to be shipped?

      • No I just selected ‘damage or defective item’, said to the person I received the wrong item. They said the delivery date isn’t till Wednesday (tracking said today and I received the item today) so I need to wait till Wednesday and they will reach out Thursday to confirm if I have received it. If the correct item isn’t received by Wednesday then they will refund. I clarified about the 4060 TI and they said I could keep it. Didn’t insist on replacement, they just think Auspost have somehow screwed up.

Edit: also I said that the 4060 TI was opened and looked used.

    • +1

I can confirm this happened with me too, I contacted them last week when it arrived and got mine fully refunded without having to return the card.

      • Also selecting "damage or defective item"?

Just that I can see that there's a selection for "Wrong item was sent", which appears more applicable.

  • +1

So I've now received my 4060Ti. Considering reporting Amazon to the ACCC for illegal advertising practices as it's very obviously not a one off mistake but a pattern of deliberately using switch and bait tactics.
Plenty of evidence in this thread.

    • Honestly if they're that bad with catching onto this surely you could send back a used 3060ti get the refund and they wouldn't notice

  • Now they are selling returns for $742.

    • was it this same link?

  • +2

Had 2 unsuccessful text chats. I phoned and they agreed on refunding me the $950 and after I buy the next cheapest for $1250 and they will give me the $300 difference in store credit.

  • +1

I've sent my 4060 card back and have done the same deal as others here where I have purchased from another seller and Amazon will refund the difference when I receive it.

  • I placed another order.

I contact amazon prior to it arriving. They confirmed it was the 4070ti
    But a 4060ti arrived today… again.
I'm currently speaking to their chat.

    • +1

They offered me a refund, not a replacement.
I asked if I order from another seller would they credit me the difference.
They agreed and I've ordered from Wireless 1 eshop and they will give me the difference as store credit once it arrives.

      • +1

Received my card from wireless1 today - its legitimate.
Contacted Amazon who kindly refunded the difference as amazon credit (took a few hours to appear).
        Happy camper

  • Mine has just been updated now to expected deliver on the 5th.
Can’t wait for my incorrect product haha.
But I will try the refund the difference idea.
    Thanks OzBros

  • I've not had much success in getting Amazon to agree, to crediting difference and purchasing the same card from the same listing - but different seller. Asked three different consultants, but gonna give it a rest for now.

  • +2

I got my 4070ti delivered on Thursday and had my $419 extra that I paid refunded to my card today. They did it a little odd, but basically they refunded $50 x 8 and a $19 refund from a bunch of my older other orders. Odd but I don't mind as I got the card for what was advertised in the end.

    • I got my 4070Ti today and Amazon credited the $450 difference I paid to my account tonight. Those buying another from the same seller just don't. Buy from another, doesn't matter where as long as a 4070 Ti arrives.

      Happy days

      • Nice! Did you get it refunded to the og payment method or a gift card? Also, did you use the live chat? Have had bad experiences in the past with different Amazon reps refusing to honour offers made in previous chats.

        • +1

Amazon account credit….used live chat. I have email confirmation of credited amount.

  • My first order got sent back and is still waiting for a refund. I placed more orders, and they just arrived today, but they're also incorrect. I called them, and they said it's under investigation with the supplier. They gave me two options: 1. Keep the wrong item for now, and they'll try to send the correct one in 7 days while taking back the incorrect one. 2. Get a full refund, return the item, and reorder, with Amazon covering any price differences. They only started investigating the listing yesterday.

    • Reorder with any seller and they would refund the price difference? Did you get those options in the same call or did they come back a few days later after ?

  • Placed an order for one of these on sunday, order was cancelled today and no longer available from Amazon AU. Looks like they finally caught on to the fact something wasn't right here.

    • same but looks like its restock once again

    • My Jan order has been cancelled too but it seems you can reorder it immediately

      • Really? not showing up for me as an option, third party sellers or Amazon UK/DE cheapest being $1295

        • I've seen this price couple of times recently and re-ordered today, let's see what will happen

      • +1

received a weird cancellation notice again today(because I've already got one one week ago), reached support for clarification and they suggest that I can buy the sameone from that link for $1280 and they will refund the difference — just fyi

        • get my 4070 Ti from KS and amazon refund the difference

  • I was in a similar situation but credit a price difference did not work for me. The support they don't provide me a price match as an option to other sellers. They mentioned that the options are system-generated, it depends on your account. So in my case(I already received a 4060Ti), the only option is to return it for a refund

  • +1

just got email said my card purchase on 8th Fed is posted and will be coming tomorrow, fingers crossed it is the right card

    • +1

Slim white 4060ti was sent again

  • Well anyway, I returned the first order but kept the next two, waiting for Amazon to sort things out instead of just getting a full refund as they suggested. I tried a few times to get a replacement through a third-party seller with no luck until recently. In a live chat, they finally agreed to find a replacement, shipped directly from Amazon to ensure proper distribution. They ended up offering a completely different card, which implied they were okay with me choosing another product. I went for the Asus TUF 4070 TI, which arrived today. I've requested a refund, and they've agreed to refund it back to my original payment method instead of Amazon credit. So, in the end, everything turned out in my favor, but it definitely required a lot of patience.

    • Congrats! I spent hours doing the same thing many times but had no luck. Finally returned the wrong one to them without a replacement. That’s torture to spend time on negotiations while seeing the 4070Ti market price down to almost sub $1000
