Apple Education Store: 8% Cashback (Online Only, Uncapped, Was 5.5%, 12 PM - 6 PM AEDT) @ Cashrewards

720

Cheers to ISP for the title and OP formatting

Exclusions updated to include Macs!! Of course the highlight here is the ability to:

Stack with purchasing an Eligible Mac/iPad for Students/Staff of Australian Universities and receive a $120-$240 Apple Gift Card

Brodens can stack with saved up 20x points/10% off Gift Cards from ColesWorth for even greater discounts! (remember - Apple allows a maximum of 8 Apple Gift Cards per transaction. You can bypass this by adding the Gift Card to your Apple Account Balance instead. From mine as well as plenty of other OzBargainers' experiences from other posts, cashback will still track if the payment method consists of the Apple Account Balance either fully or partially).

Current Gift Card Promotions (to stack):

  1. 20x Everyday Rewards Points on Apple Gift Cards @ Woolworths (equivalent to 10% off)

Promotion Details

Promotion: 8% Cashback at Apple Education Store (Was 5.5%) @ Cashrewards

  • Dumb question, after making the MacBook Pro purchase in the Cash Rewards app, do I simply just click on the X within the CR > Apple page to finish ?

It would have tracked the purchase yes?

  • Will this cashback tracked through the AOC store?

  • Sorry dumb question but how do i go about getting 10% off on Apple Gift cards?

Purchasing from woolworths website isnt showing any discount. I want to stack them on top of this.

    Thanks.

    • In store and with everyday rewards to get the 20x points which is the equivalent to 10% off but it gets returned to you in the form of Everyday Rewards Points.

  • is there anyone not be able to check out by using account balance in education store?

    • @Ooooooollie See my comment below. Hope it helps you.

      • It works!! i had one of my credit card added in my apple ID before but still could not check out. I added another credit card to my ID after reading your comment and it went through to placing the order! Thank you sooooo much for your help:)

    • I have. It's rubbish, especially as cashback has closed as of NOW. So dumb

Hopefully this will help, as I had the same issue with constant spinning after clicking “review my order”. First, I made sure that there was nothing block popups or content on the Cashrewards site, and also the Apple education site. Then I added a primary billing method to my AppleID. I added credit card details, even though I was paying fully with Apple gift cards. Previously I had Applepay (connected to the same card) and gift card credit only. After doing this (and emptying my Apple shopping cart) I went back and reloaded Cashrewards page, clicked through to Apple education, selected my Mac, selected delivery details, chose to use AppleID credit, and clicked “review my order” and all went through ok.

That’s why it’s recommended to use the CR app for tracking and purchasing success!

      • I used the cashrewards app - same problem. Used browers on a laptop = same problem.
        So annoyed by this.

Heysiri : tried the above, and has the same problem.

        • Hope you got is sorted. It seems that adding a primary payment method (credit card) to your account first seems to work. Even though the card is not used, it seems to expect some sort of backup payment method.

          • @HeySiri: I did as above, added primary credit card as well. Sadly I didn't get it sorted. I had to resort to paying for it with a credit card (and not making use of my Apple account balance). I'll still get the cashback but will now need to find out what to do with all the money sitting in my Apple account.

Chatted with Apple : useless, they told me to either buy over the phone (no Cashback), or some kind of one-off phone call PIN (also no CB).

Did anyone get cashback tracked immediately?

    • Always good to read the terms that I spent time and effort into formatting:

Please allow up to 7 days for Apple to track. Apple is usually on the slower end compared to other merchants

      and….

Cashback tracks to member accounts 2-7 days after you receive confirmation from Apple that the product has been shipped.

      • Cheers

      • Comment chain about it above, but do you know if the product actually has to ship or can it be picked up in-store after the purchase is done online?

    • Cashback tracks to member accounts 2-7 days after you receive confirmation from Apple that the product has been shipped.

      Same with pick up orders.

      • Tracking came through about an hour ago. Haven't picked up item yet.

  • Macbook Pro M3 Pro is eligible?

    • Yes.
Get your order in quick! Not much time left!

      • Just pull the trigger and done.

  • I know it's not Edu related, but I wonder when the 15 Pro Max will be eligible for Cashback. Hanging out for an uncapped Cashback offer so I can get a 15 Pro Mac and new Apple Watch.

  • I only got charged $240. Is this normal?

    • I believe what they do is send an invoice for $240, (as this ‘ships’ first) then subtract the 240 from the final sale price. So technically you buy the gift card, and they give you a discount off the order for the same value. You will get a separate invoice for whatever you ordered, when it ships.

      • Bugger…. So if I bought a M3pro 14 MBP with 1TB SSD, $3509, the final invoice would show as $3269?

I'm salary packaging it, I'd rather it show the higher value otherwise there is no point of getting the $240 gift card if it shows I actually paid for it…

  • Has anyone who ordered the base M3 Pro MBP (18gb/512ssd/$3239) had their 8% cashback tracked yet? I bought one on Cashrewards to be safe as I was worried the Shopback one didn’t go through but have just had it tracked finally ($218.11) but not sure if the Cashrewards amount might be different in their calculations? Trying to decide which one to return/cancel depending on the cashback amount…

    • +1

      $218.11 is correct.

      ($3,239-$240)/11108%

  • So I have a problem.
Ordered during the cashback. Tracked just fine.
MBA arrives - and it's a dud. SSD failure. Chatted with Apple, brought into Apple store - and they agree, SSD is a dud.
Apple's only solution : refund, and buy again (which I have done).
When asking about the associated cashback : I was told to speak to Cashrewards.

CR rep : will this original purchased be honoured?

    • Not a CR rep but I am highly certain if you get your order refunded and place another order then CR will not honour the upsized cashback. If it was exchanged then they might (I had a similar experience where I exchanged a wrapped iPad of an order that I purchased during another CR upsized CB, I had Apple to make sure that the exchange would have the same order number). At first, CB declined my CB but TA got it sorted (thanks TA, you rule :D).

In your case, I think CR will treat the new order as just a new order with regular cashback as the order was placed outside of the upsized cashback period and not an exchange of the original order.

      • Yep.

        Apple = speak to Cashrewards.
        Not Apple's problem.

Long response from Cashrewards : TLDR, answer was no. Too bad.

    • Should have got a refund and bought new one with current rate of cashback.

      • That's what I did, but the cashback was 8%, now 1.5%
