      Thanks, so it varies depending on your location.

      These have a microwave sensor as opposed to the Bunnings link above which is PIR (infared).

      Does anyone know what's better?

        Depends on use case.
        Given this is for outdoor / open space, then probably Microwave sensor is better.
        PIRs are generally better for detecting heat changes in more confined spaces.
        YMMV

        WN, it could be a typo. Based off the product photo these are PIR sensors as you can clearly see the Fresnel lens. Microwave sensors do not use any lens and are contained within the product as the microwaves they emit can easily penetrate the plastic enclosure.

          But may be cheaper just to get a standalone sensor for your existing lights?

            @Tiggrrrrr: Yeah that might work too. That said it looks like they're just reusing the PIR sensor enclosure to save $, well whatever works.
