Grabbed some. They don't seem to be terrible for under $7 each. Thanks OP

Saw someone posting crystal benchmarks at 80 MB/sec writes, seen worse, much worse

    • +5

I've got 46 in raid array, fantastic stuff, nearly as fast as a single ssd

  • +3

    Good deal.

According to the reviews, the 128GB version can reach 80 MB/s write, 134 MB/s read as mentioned in the previous comment, link to reviews below:

128GB (5 Pack) also selling for $49.65 which is really good value in my opinion:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BS8CF66L?th=1

    • Didn't see the 128 GB, I assumed the benchmark was for the 64. Damn I hope they don't suck, bought some

      • You can always cancel the 64GB pack order if it hasn't been shipped yet, then order the 128GB pack

        • +1

Yeah I could, but don't even really need these, thought they might come in handy. 128 GB is overkill 😀

          • +2

            @chromium:

Yeah I could, but don't even really need these

            This is the way

        • Sold out now anyway

    • Is this no longer available?

    • Struggling to see those 128GB ones. Gonski?

      • +1

Yeah there was one left when I checked just before and then it was gone shortly after

  • Yeah I saw these after i got the patriot 5 pack of micro sd cards, wanted to replace slow Sandisk drives for bootable drives

    • I wonder the mSD are like. I wanted some more 64GB.

should have bought more when they had $7 Samsung on BF

      • The 5 pack 256gb patriots for 65 is a good deal wondering how they go in a gopro pi etc

  • +1

    Interesting negative reviews on Amazon

    • Should I just cancel then?

  • +1

what do people use these for nowadays?

    Windows boot drives? Installation media?

    • +4

YUMI boot disk, all distros on one boot-usb.

      • +1

        There's also Ventoy

        • Ventoy is better in my experience

    • +3

videos of my wife and her boyfriend.

    • I've only got 2.
      - Windows 11
      - Steam Deck recovery

  • +1

Get rid of all those USB 2.0 drives and upgrade to these.

  • And all gone before I could find enough items to bring me up to the $59 free shipping total. :(

  • Wow, a Supersonic Rage Lite?!?!!?
I have the old Supersonic Rage 2 from 8 years ago and just pulled it out to test with Crystaldiskmark for fun.

    Sequential Read: 396.86 MB/s
    Sequential Write: 239.08 MB/s

It does contain MLC NAND, so that's why the write speed is fast, even without caching on.

  • I had an earlier model of the patriot rage and it was the fastest USB drive I've ever seen

  • 1 these always been at this price, now they are going to sky rocket because of the “eh, it’s posted here so I’ll buy some” orders

2 these are chunky, if you have 2 usb port next to each other, these almost certainly will block the other one.

  • There doesn’t seem to be any mention of 5 pack USBs when I jumped to the link. Also no 64GB available.

    • I'm seeing the same thing. Probably a price error and was supposed to be the individual price.

      • In that case the deal was too good to be true. If it was a five pack deal the price would’ve been tremendous but for a single unit the price doesn’t seem to be that good.

      • Nope, they have been this price forever. Probably ran out and taken down.

        • I wanted to get the 128GB model instead but I was too late. It’s not like I really need these USBs but still it’d be nice to put some isos on these drives.

          • @brenster56: I mean if you are literally just using for that the officeworks Sandisk 5 pack isn’t THAT bad. Sure it’s usb 2 and your boot will take little longer but most OS’s are about 2-3gb, really doesn’t make that much difference.

            https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/sandisk-cr…

People here are seagulls (I don’t exclude myself). They just attack at everything even if they don’t need it at all lol.

  • Can't any 64GB models or any 5 pack deals. Deals ended?

    • +2

Yeah, long gone. No 5 packs left at all now

  • +1

Thanks OzBargain for killing another good product for the rest of us lol.

    • you're just too slow ;) I was quick enough to get a 5 pack of the 64Gb, but too slow for the 5 pack of 128Gb

      • No I buy these now and then, waaay before this post was even a thing.

Or use to before OzBargain did their thing and completely got the listing removed lol.

  • Have just received the 128GB version, and have run some CrystalDiskMark tests as below for those that are interested:

    221.58 MB/s (Sequential Read)
    125.41 MB/s (Sequential Write)
    12.40 MB/s (Random Read)
    1.42 MB/s (Random Write)

    • +1

Yeah, I was about to post the same about the 64GB, way faster than I expected

      225.50 MB/s (Sequential Read)
      140.99 MB/s (Sequential Write)
      12.98 MB/s (Random Read)
      1.66 MB/s (Random Write)

      Let's hope they're reliable

Just did some real world tests, like copying large files and it doesn't sustain those speeds. Averaging around 60 MB/sec writing. I should do another Crystal test with larger file sizes

      • I can see where the performance is reflected in its price. That random write speed is so slow.

  • Hoping these come back in stock sometime soon

    • Back in stock buddy

      • Yeah i noticed they were instock late last night but didnt place an order seems today its 1.05 more expensive lol

        • +1

          A true ozbargainer
