Thank you Scrooge McDeal. You are really helpful with the amount of deals you share with us, both paid and free. I truly do appreciate it. That aside, why are alot of these more practical and art related apps free on IOS whereas a lot of games are moreso free on Android?

Thanks 👍 and I appreciate it. There are lots of alternative apps on android but with $0 previous price (always been free), also it depends, sometimes it's the way it is, not as many promos (deals) on android.

      • +1

That's true. Sometimes I wished I owned an iPhone so I could utilised these deals to the fullest extent. Maybe I should buy a second hand iPhone 6 and then download all these apps so I would be saving money… kinda? Yeah no worries, there isn't much appreciation for the people who spend hours upon hours to post various deals for free that benefits everyone on here. I'd like to share that appreciation towards everyone because they spent that extra time of their day to share with all of us when they didn't have to.

Each have different pricing/pricing models to publish an app on their app store

          Google Play Store
          $25 – One-time fee

          Apple App Store
          $99 – Annual Basis

I would guess these are both in USD and the lower fee is probably the reason for the more free games

any idea why you are getting downvoted here?

This is built into iOS already. But free is free…

    • Is it? What/how?

Open a photo and then press and hold on the object you want taken out of the background, ez pz

        • Ok I’m really being noob here but I go to photo , click edit I assume and hold object but that doesn’t work?

          • @prankster: Not sure if you’re pranking me or not ;)
You shouldn’t go to edit mode. Click and hold on the object you want to “detach” in the “regular” (browsing?) mode.

            • @yadq: Nah not pranking this time :)

Is it only objects that are in the front / centered as opposed to an object in the background?

So I tried it, held on a front person, but only shows up with “copy / add sticker / share..” I don’t see a detach option?

              • @prankster: Then when you click “share” a bigger menu will open and you should be able to save it to photos

Now see this is like a Dunning Kruger Effect Example, as this isnt available on ALL iphones:

      Check the Device Compatibility
If you were hoping that your older yet capable iPhone models like iPhone X would get this notable feature, you would be left disappointed that it has been restricted to the newer models. Yeah, you got that right!

The ability to lift subjects from images is exclusive to iPhone XS/XR or later. Check out the list of supported devices:

      iPhone XS
      iPhone XS Max
      iPhone XR
      iPhone 11
      iPhone 11 Pro
      iPhone 11 Pro Max
      iPhone 12
      iPhone 12 mini
      iPhone 12 Pro
      iPhone 12 Pro Max
      iPhone SE 2 (2020)
      iPhone 13
      iPhone 13 mini
      iPhone 13 Pro
      iPhone 13 Pro Max
      iPhone SE 3 (2022)
      iPhone 14
      iPhone 14 Plus
      iPhone 14 Pro
      iPhone 14 Pro Max

and for anyone wondeeing about thks feature for ipads i found this:

Photo background removal within iOS/iPadOS16 is available to devices with an A12 or later CPU:
        iPad8 or later
        iPad Air3 or later
        iPad mini5 or later
        iPad Pro 11” (all)
iPad Pro 12.9” third generation or later

As such, this feature is not supported by your ipad7.

      • Thanks for pointing this out, surely useful to some.

But what's with the Dunning Kruger Effect? Like, how is it that?

  • +1

No deal. It doesn't mention AI in the name or the description.

  • Looks like it could be useful. Thanks!

  • Thanks O.P

  • I downloaded it, got a whole bunch of photo apps now I don’t use 😂

  • +2

Already included in iOS, but if you own an older phone it’s probably decent.

  • For those here thinking this feature is already available for iphones and ipads (as standard), the remove background feature appears to be available for later iphone & ipad models and on ios 16 or greater.

And for those with Apple Macs (not sure if for all apple macs, etc) this can be done in thier built in programs like Preview (see below) and Pages:

    https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/preview/prvw15636/mac

  • Are there any similar apps on Android thanks.
