Jetstar: Domestic Flights from $37 One Way, Hawaii $269, NZ $238 Return, Fiji $434 Return, Seoul $470 Return & More @ BTF

1160

Jetstar has a big weekend frenzy sale on, with 92 routes on sale. Limited seats, so I've built a table of all the one way flights for every single route, and linked to them with prices. I've also done a brief scan at return tickets and found some great examples, which I've added at the end, but there's probably cheaper on some routes still if you hunt around. Always check both one way and return for prices.

For comparison's sake, Virgin also has a domestic and international sale on at present.

what the hell is with the uncanny valley looking picture, AI?

    • +2

      Yeah 100% AI generated

      • +2

Yup made by someone who has no idea how to use AI properly lol

    • +7

What, you mean you don't also sit cross legged in your tiny 45 cm wide Jetstar seat :)

      • The most unrealistic part of that image is having a vacant neighbouring seat on a Jetstar flight.

    • +1

      Here's an alternate one!

      https://www.beatthatflight.com.au/wp-content/uploads/jetstar…

AI image generators don't generate brands properly, due to IP no doubt.

      • legeagert flar

        • Which is weird, because the latest (free) Stable Diffusion releases are capable of generating actual coherent text

    • +1

It’s pretty good considering it’s basically free to generate these images. Wordpress itself is free too, the server technology is free as well. The site takes advantage of a lot of free tech.

      • Indeed I do!

  • +8

    On Jetstar though, I’ll pass

    • +2

Not a single option from Perth - so I have to pass.

  • +4

yeah to Hawaii I only travel Hawaiian airlines I would never use JetFAIL. (JetStar.)

  • +6

Last time I took Jetstar from NZ (not to, cos avoid at all costs, but they have good time slots) the first plane broke down, so they sent another from syd, it arrived, but broke down.+11 hours later got the last scheduled flight out, some wherent lucky enough to make it on the flight cos of seat numbers.

never again. only +side was the $7 coupon i used for a $6, 600mL coke.

    • +7

Please tell me you didn't let that final $1 go to waste?!

      • +1

considering flying back just to use it in true ozb spirit

  • +6

lol not that I’d fly with Qantas subsidiaries but no Perth flights at all.

  • +1

Hey OP this is a 'random' aside, but as you're something of an expert can you please tell me if you reckon any airline will start offering direct flights from Melbourne to Cebu anytime soon?

Also, what is your take on that whole Qatar debacle? Do you reckon that if Qatar applied again, 'Albo' would have no choice but to grant them whatever they asked for ASAP, to avoid being unequivocally exposed (twice) as complicit in a 'very cosy arrangement' with Qantas? It was bizarre/scandalous that 'Albo' bowed to the then Qantas chief and blocked Qatar from launching numerous new international routes here in Australia that would have made international plane travel cheaper for us.

I would be genuinely interested in your take on that whole situation OP, if you have time to provide it. Thanks for your frequent, detailed, and informative posts by the way.

      1) No airlines are planning to fly from MEL to CEB.
      2) Why would a company get involved in politics on a public forum. Leave that to the media.

    • Of course regardless appreciate the questions and answers
to understand further what truly think
      is happening here.

  • +2

Cheap seat on jetfail, you may or not be cancelled, delayed or diverted due to an unruly bogan on the way to/from Bali

    • Ironically Jetstar had lower delay and cancellation rates than virgin ;)

    • +2

I've had way more luck on Jetstar than Virgin lately. Check the stats, Virgin has significantly more cancellations and delays than Jetstar. It's a real shame. Double the cancellations and 15% higher chance of your flight being delayed on Virgin.

      https://www.bitre.gov.au/statistics/aviation/otp_month

      • +1

yeah, Virgin has gotten pretty poor over the last year and a half

        • +2

Took a trip with virgin for new year holidays. They cancelled both my departure and returned flights. Had to call their call center to rebook. My 3h trip from cairns to melbourne turned into a 9 hour journey with a stop over in brisbane. No compensation or food voucher whatsoever.

  • +1

Went with Jetstar to Singapore last month with no issues either way, would gladly try one of these deals

  • Have they removed the leg space now …?.

  • I find holidays are less enjoyable when your luggage doesn’t arrive when you do, so I’ll pass on this one.

  • +1

Another reason not to fly with them. They are cool with AI customers sitting on chairs with their shoes touching the seats. Probably because they removed leg room all together

AI mostly because they are running out of real customers to fly with them.

  • need in august, would that be in the next set of deals, or should i just buy now?

  • -8

Jetstar, flight delays and they forced me to put my laptop, camera bag on the weight scale. Which then pushed my luggage over their limit.

    • +7

So your issue is that Jetstar made you weigh all your luggage, which pushed you over your luggage limit?

You're right, that does sound completely unreasonable. 🙄

      • +1

Tbf many airlines don't count your 'personal item' towards your hand carry, but yes jetstar does it as standard

  • +2

    Perth doesn't exist!

  • +1

Offtopic … but seemingly AI generated image of guy sitting in the airline seat.

  • Caption competition: "Hey, why is this wall starting to move? AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"

    Too soon?

  • +1

Booked flights. Peak cherry blossom season. Heres hoping it all goes well. It's nice jetstar allows you to select baggage for individual passengers so we got 1x20kg that we will share each way.

    • It's nice jetstar allows you to select baggage for individual passengers

I thought it was standard with all budget airlines. Which airline doesn't allow you to do that when by default it's an add-on?

      • Maybe im wrong but when I book with virgin usually its either everyone gets no luggage or you must add on for everyone.

    • If you're not coming back from Japan with at least an extra bag… you're doing it wrong not spending enough! ;)
