Note that there are no compatible/generic toner options yet, so you may need to buy toner for $90+ if you print in large amounts

    • Thanks for that info ! Almost press the purchase button.

      • Cant you fill up the existing toner drum using aftermarket powder?

        • +1

Have you seen what happens when you spill THE black powder? Seen it and never again.

@AndyC1: Yep, just saw some youtube videos. Seems messy. Need to wear gloves

            • +3

@jedimaster: And a mask and plastic on the floor and cloths that should be thrown away.

Took me an hour to clean up a spill of about 1/2 a cup.

              • @AndyC1: This sounds like photocopier cartridges when someone removes the tab, and carcinogenic.

damn i got excited when i saw 120 bucks laser printer with wifi and duplex printing! than i read this, no generic toner no deal

    • I know it is a different model 2305, but these look really similar. and the guy here says you can use generic toner
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14585330/redir and https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14585548/redir
      Is it the case?

UPD: ah yep, seems these models actually use different toners. And for 2305 there are generics while for this one there is no.
seems strange to me as these models differ only in double side printing

  • Is it heavy ?

    • +1

mono lasers are light, colour lasers are much heavier

      Na, he’s mine.

      Lighter than a car tyre.

      • You can if you have platinum membership.

  • Not deliverable to my address. I’m in the Perth metro area. That’s a first for a sold and shipped by Amazon product

    • Do you have Prime? I just tried, no issues except for "Signature required at time of delivery"

      • Yeah. I‘ve got prime. Very odd. Never had any issues before

        • +1

I live in metro but some items seem to have a hazard limit so I can only get delivered to a friend in CBD

Tried multiple residential addresses both mine and several friends and didn’t work, even Amazon lockers didn’t work. Only one that works is a CBD friend.

Have Prime also, but had to get shoe water repellent to my friends house… and go pick it up…

    • Funny, mine shipped from Perth to SA!

Auto duplex, so tempting. I wonder if I should retire my HL2140 and grab this.

  • I’ve bought this last week. Prints nice and fast. Easy to set up and wifi option is great. My work pays for the cartridge, so that’s not an issue for me.

  • Went out of stock while I was reading the comments… Sad to miss it

    • They're back, same price

If you're only printing the odd return label, form, and your kid's homework every now and then, then this is fine. The 1,200 page included toner will probably last year years.

If you print regularly, you're better off getting the Brother HL-L5100DN (e.g. here https://www.centrecom.com.au/brother-hl-l5100dn-monochrome-l…) for around $230. However, it comes with a 3,000 page toner included (which considering the 3,000 page toner for this model is already $99) makes it worth it already.

The real money is in the ability to use generic toners. E.g., you can get an 8,000 page toner for $25 (see here https://www.inkstation.com.au/1-brother-tn3440-compatible-to…) which will make it much better if you're either printing a lot of stuff, or just for general small office use.

    • Thanks! I live in WA and it adds $20 postage($250) Thus, I ordered from MSY instead since they charge $9 more for the item but offer to Click & Collect from the WA store(no postage - $239

Top printer, it took me hours to setup wifi password but after setup it's a breeze 😂

I just print kids color sketch stuff but it's amazing, duplex printing and Wifi. I know how to change a generic toner as well. Do some research on ozbargain and you'll know.

    • Where? ozbargain researched, no generic option.

  • OOS already

If you missed out on this deal, it is still $118 at Harvey Norman, Domayne and Joyce Mayne.
Or, if you don't want to give Gerry any money, The Good Guys were happy to match the price.
