So you've got this MSI Mag B550 Tomahawk Computer Motherboard – sounds like a military operation, but it's just supposed to make your computer work better.

Now, it claims to support DDR4 memory up to 5100+(OC) MHz. I didn't even know computers had a speed limit. It's like they're challenging you to a memory race or something.

And get this – studio-grade sound quality. I'm not in a recording studio; I just want to play a game without it sounding like it's underwater. Immersive gaming experience? I just want to shoot things without my ears crying for mercy.

They've thrown in an extended heatsink design and an additional choke thermal pad – sounds like they're making a computer sandwich. Better EMI protection? I don't even know what EMI is. And more convenience for installation? Last time I checked, installing a motherboard was about as convenient as putting together flat-pack furniture with vague instructions.

And it comes with steel armor PCI-E slots – as if my computer's going into battle. I just want it to run Word without crashing, not storm the motherboard beaches.

    I have the MSI Mag B550 Tomahawk - Non max - No wifi i paid $154 for it on an ebay sale in 2020.. got a $40USD ($59AUD) MSI steam gift card :) prices are so much higher for motherboards these days

    yeah this doesnt make sense unless u got an AM4 cpu lying around

    With the new reductions you can get a 7600 and am5 board and 32gb of ram for about 700 all in and you then you have 3 plus years of upgradability with am5

    There are major issues with the next LGA system they want,so it's very likely we will see AM5 supported Past 2026 at this rate

    What's with the dumb description? Are you MSI themselves trying to sell this almost 4 yr old budget motherboard at am5 prices? 300 bucks isn't worth it on a dead end platform, especially on a board that was a budget option.

    I got a 5600x and the Tomahawk non-max from Shopping Express in May 2021 for total of $591 including shipping.

    This isn't a good deal. I bought this for $268 less than a year ago not on sale. While it's a great, feature packed mobo this is regular price (it's always been available for less than the 329 RRP for the past year, around $270).

    May be cheapest with shipping currently but if you need other things too probably combining with 3 other items @ umart $14 shipping (with this MOBO @ 268) would be cheaper.

    Not going to neg but this is definitely not a good deal
