      ok

So it wasn't the price gouging, the constant surveillance or wage theft that made you boycott them? It was the fact they don't stock the crappy Chinese made bogan merch that doesn't produce enough profit for them to warrant stocking it. Gotcha…

      • -7

So it wasn't the price gouging, the constant surveillance or wage theft that made you boycott them?

        No, it's the virtue signalling.
They're happy to celebrate other nationaility's special days, but not Australia's.

        • +5

          Wait, you're being serious?

        • +4

Oh so "virtue signalling", aka a for-profit company choosing what they want to sell to maximise said profit, compared to price gouging, constant surveillance and wage theft is what made you boycott them. I can see the brain rot from here.

          • -3

            @shaibankek2:

choosing what they want to sell to maximise said profit

That is not what they said to the press.

They made it very clear one of the reasons they are not selling it is because of the their perceived "controversy" over Australia Day.

            • +4

@jv: A perceived "controversy" that leads to less profit. Gotcha.

              • @shaibankek2:

                Gotcha.

That is not what Woolies said… That is what you said.

                • -1

@jv: Don't have to be a rocket scientist buddy. Do some critical thinking.

                  • -5

                    @shaibankek2:

Don't have to be a rocket scientist buddy.

                    Too late. I already graduated.

          • @shaibankek2: Do you seriously think management are only seeking profits and not what is best for their careers?

          • @shaibankek2: What's wrong with virtue signalling? Every company does it in order to sell to whatever target audience they are going for.

        • +5

all this for a pack of a soft drink, look at yourself mate and chill… oh wait since you emphasise with bold texts, i suggest you to calm down

          • @n3dd:

all this for a pack of a soft drink

No, I'm not buying anything from them this month.

            • +3

@jv: I think you misunderstand - you're trying to push your own agenda on a bargain listing of soft drink. Like literally, just a pack of soft drinks. And you're attributing this with your disapproval of Woolworths for no reason. Like literally, it's a freaking soft drink…

              • @n3dd: It’s not like ppl on ozbargain to have opinions or agendas is it lol. Checkout newscorp or Foxtel threads. Are you new to this sire?

        • No, it's the virtue signalling.
They're happy to celebrate other nationaility's special days, but not Australia's.

          Is that you JV?

What other nationality's days do the celebrate at woolies (besides Santa's birthday)?

      • The merch would still be bogan even if the flags were Australian made

    • +2

Boycotting something just because a politician tells you - now that's un-Australian

      • -4

I decided to boycott before any politician discussed this…

        • Sure ya did.

Over a decision made by a supermarket not to stock some crappy plastic junk made in China that no-one with a functioning brain wants anyway.

That's the ultimate 'virtue signalling' idiocy.

          • +3

            @FitzChivalry Farseer:

            Sure ya did.

Yep, news from Woolies came out a day before politicians were talking about it.

            • +5

@jv: So you're boycotting a company over their commercial decision not to stock plastic Australian flags.

And then taking to an OzBargain post about a soft drink to brag about it.

That, dear Sir, is 'virtue signalling'.

              • +1

                @FitzChivalry Farseer:

                over their commercial decision

It's not a commercial decision by them though. They clearly stated that was only part of the decision.

Coles have no problem selling them…

                • -1

@jv: 2 different for-profit organisations make business decisions which they believe leads to maximised value for their shareholders. Quite shocking really!

                  • -1

                    @shaibankek2:

                    make business decisions

Wasn't a business decision though, was a political decision by the directors.

                    • +3

@jv: Every decision by a for-profit company in a capitalist society is to maximise value for their shareholders. Whether you believe it's strictly political is irrelevant as it arrives at the same end of maximising value for shareholders.

                      • +1

@shaibankek2: Naive. The directors, ceo and management do what is in their best interests. Often that means seeking profit for the company but not always. These people are looking at future jobs, their network and how they look in the press. Only vice level business students actually think companies are 100% focused on profits. He’ll look at Disney or Elon musk and his ventures. You need to factor in the human element. Do some reading…

                • @jv: I have heard in many country areas Cole’s have sold out of oz day merch.

I have heard in many country areas Cole’s have sold out of oz day merch.

And Woolies overall sales are down.

                    • +1

@jv: And Coles overall sales are down any more this week. Coles share price has dropped by more than Woolworths this week too.

All retailers sales are down this week month. Happens every year in January- post Christmas and Boxing Day.

Has nothing to do with one retailer deciding to no longer stock cheap plastic junk made in China to bogans.

Anyway, enough of your culture wars politicking BS.

Guess what? Woolies continue to sell cheap plastic junk made in China, just nothing promoting Australia Day.

        • +1

You boycotted Woolworths because of an orchestrated political campaign led by politicians and their supporters. You were played.

          Facts:

Woolworths DID NOT make an announcement about their decision to not stock additional Australia Day merchandise.

That decision was made in late December 2023 due to poor sales data and so no merchandise was in store in Woolworths 3 weeks ago - and so low is the demand for this merchandise, that literally nobody noticed.

But around 10 January, someone did, and immediately questions were asked of Woolworths from Kerry Stokes 7 News network. Their written response is the only comms on this that Woolworths have made at all.

Woolworths have done nothing else. No social media. No PR release. No ads. No interviews. Nothing. They have not made this a political issue. Kerry Stokes has.

Kerry Stokes is the owner of Channel 7 and a key player in Liberal Party politics. He made this a media issue and within hours Liberal leader Peter Dutton was calling for a boycott as part of his culture wars agenda.

You might not think that you wre being used as a political pawn. But you were.

          Think harder.

            @FitzChivalry Farseer:

You boycotted Woolworths because of an orchestrated political campaign led by politicians

No, because of the Woolies media release that they are anti-Australian.

But I ain't spending any time on it because in the meantime, every three months, a person is torn to pieces by a crocodile in north Queensland.

Should never have given up our guns because a politician (and later war criminal) told us to…

    • Very bold of you

    • Can you be anymore hated on this page?

        Is that a rhetorical question?

        Who hates me?

        • +1

          i don't hate you jv.

good on you for being honest to your values, and attempting to put a smile on people's faces with the worst jokes/puns i've ever seen.

Anyway back to reality, is this sunkist zero any good?

    • Yes, better than Fanta.

It tastes like what Fanta used to taste like…

      • Fizzy handwash?

    • +3

It's better than Fanta no sugar but not as good as Kirks Orange no sugar

      • +2

        Kirks Orange no sugar

Cheaper during half price sales too though wish it was as available at more stores.

        • Tried to google and search WW, but is Kirks Zero Orange only available at Coles?

    • +8

its a nice change, but it aint no pepsi max (THE GOAT)

      • ^ This

  • -2

    That's expensive for 10 cans.

    • +1

What's the going rate for 10 cans then?

    • Cheap by 2024 pricing (S&S, cancel afterwards). Don't think I have ever spent less than $6.50 for a 10 can pack and that was a while ago/Kirks brand.

  • PSA: This contains squished bug juice.
    Some people don't care - I do.

    • +1

Despite the initial surprise some people might feel about consuming a product derived from insects, cochineal is a natural compound that has been used by humans for hundreds of years.

      • So? I don't eat bugs.

      • Tradeoff for having the choice depending if you're paranoid about 'artificial' colours and flavours or new world order globalists trying to force you to ingest bugs as if it hasn't already been a normal thing in parts of the world like you said lol.

    • +1

      Given your name, you must!

  • Not sure wtf Amazon are doing. They were advertising a little while ago about the completion of a massive warehouse in Jandakot, WA (increasing capacity by 500%) Unfortunately it must be empty. Most items for the past month or more are marked as "currently unavailable". This is another one.

  • thanks, picked up a couple.
