"Same price as the JB deal last month" And this month?: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/rog-ally-gaming-handheld-…

I would get it from JB Hi-fi for the easy instore returns with their many locations.

    • You'll definitely need to return it if you use the micro sd reader.

      • +3

From what I can tell, that doesn't seem to be an issue for newer stock.

  • I'm so so so tempted. Been trying to decide between this (last time it was on sale at JB and now again) or wait for Steam Deck OLED to drop in price but I have JB gift cards so the Ally would cost me $899 and SD OLED is still above 1k mark.

Travelling anywhere? Just grab SD OLED and claim GST and come back :P

    • Same model and same price. So best to get from jb hifi if thats more convenient to you.

Which buying stuff from jb hifi is for me.

  • When this is $500, i'll bite

Assuming you still have teeth 😬

    • lol by the time all these handheld around $500, bet you will only bite when they go $200

      • If they are not paying me to take one. Why bother?

        /s

  • Honestly, SD OLED is the better deal around this price point. 90Hz OLED will be better than 120hz LCD. Plus the benefit of allowing HDR up to 1000 nits and all the other steam deck features, that allow it to "just work". Not that this is a bad device by any means. Would need to be closer to $700 to be a decent buy.

  • JB Hi-Fi selling for the same price, 20x EDR points (effectively 10% off) ultimate gift cards starts Wednesday (assuming this sale is still ongoing).

Think I might pull the trigger on that, but luckily I've got time to think about if it's worth it or wait and see what second gen devices bring.

Note this expired today, I was planning to do the same but the 20x points started yesterday and it was a limit of 5x$100 ticket purchases a day. I ended up just buying it without the bonus points yesterday.

      • Ah that's a shame.

Doesn't every OzB have more than one EDR account? I asked the staff if I could do two transactions, 2 x $500 and another with 1 x $100 and they obligied (I didn't mention the two accounts though).
