[Pre Order] Samsung 65" The Frame QLED 4K Smart TV [2022] QA65LS03BAWXXY $1274.15 Delivered @ Samsung EDU Store

1110

First post for someone that's been on OzBargain for years!

I've been looking for a decent price on the Samsung Frame TV's and there hasn't been much around until JB HiFi came out with some decent pricing and CES (Consumer Electronics Show). I kept looking and managed to find this pricing of $1274.15 ($1,324.85 off the RRP) with free delivery.
Note: Purchase options are available for setup or wall mounting, but have charges associated.

Expires 31/1/24. Delivery begins from 30th of January. This is the earliest option available to me at the time of order.

There is a newer model on the horizon, but even Samsung won't divulge much info on availability etc.
I pulled the trigger and if you have access to an education address (i.e kids or doing study, or teacher or faculty) this price is the best I've seen around.

  • How much for 75?

    • +2

$2,379.15. Only the 65'' is actually on a great deal and in stock

    Pre-ordering a 2022 TV damn

    • +10

It's a niche item and not for everyone I get that. We're getting this as a compromise for our living space. W does not want a TV there and would like a painting…….no other TV comes close to this on the market as much as I've love there to be another option.

      • +14

Dude you’ll love it. 2022 doesn’t mean it won’t look sick, and that’s a good price.

        • +3

Haha yeah researched the life out of it.
I now have to work out a solution to hide the OneConnect box behind it.

          • +1

@ph81: hope you dont have double brick

            • @huu: Nope luckily.

            • @huu: mine's double brick and im looking for ideas on how to run the cable. any ideas?

              • +1

@ulun-lpg: The cable is very slender. It would be better if completely hidden, but you couldn’t really ask for a less inconspicuous cable.

      • +1

I think it's more the fact preorders are usually reserved for items soon to be released, not a 2022 model tv, especially since there's been newer release of the models.
Still great TVs, the preorder is just amusing.

      • i don't have that many people over. but without fail, anyone who walks past this when it's on art mode is blown away. it's really incredible.

  • +3

Paid 2k for my 55" last year. Great price, definitely worth it. Only con is the sluggish menus just like most Samsung tv's I've had.

    • +1

Was told it have another console box thats why is so thin. Is it true?

      • Yep. Its called a OneConnect box with all the connections.

      • Yep

      • As per other responses, power, and all connections are done via an optical cable to this other box. You can hide it in a cavity or the wall behind it, or just drop it down to something below it.

    • the sluggish menu is because all TV manufacturers cut costs on the CPU, pretty annoying

  • Preorder a 2022 TV in 2024. Makes sense

    • +13

Probably best off reading what I posted and it will make sense.

    • plenty of better tv's out there for the price, but this is currently the only tv on the market with a matte finish, also beats the crap out of my 50" EKO tv from big w

  • This or the TCL 65C745?

    • 845 as like $1400 late last year. I'm waiting for that again.

      • +1

Got the 85" c845 for $2500 (minutes voucher bargains as well) but I haven't had regrets with it yet. Bright, colourful, fast menus from Google built in. Dolby vision, hdr10+, 120fps / 144vrr.

Running well for a few months now!

        • Great to hear! Might hold off for a C845 deal then

          • @63pinecone: There'll be end of life sales coming up from late Feb or so, I wouldn't be too surprised if it came down to $2300 or less even. But longer you wait, say May, sick will get harder to find.

No complaints on the tv though

      • After talking to 2 reps from JB and TGG, new TVs will be dropping in April so TV's like the C845 will come down a fair bit apparently

Any tips on how to get Education store access with a education.nsw.gov.au email address?

I can only get access to the government store atm

    • I noticed this down the bottom on the login screen.

"Any questions? Contact our Customer Service team on the phone on 1300 362 603 and selection option 4.
They're available 7 days a week between 8:00am and 8:00pm, excluding public holidays."

Or try the online chat. I swear it's a chatbot. It tried telling me it was real as I was asking questions and the answers had zero relation to the question. 😂😂

Any tips on how to get Education store access with a education.nsw.gov.au email address?

What did you try so far? I believe the verification is via unidays, which works fine for the education.nsw.gov.au addresses

      • I didn't think of that. But good suggestion. I just used the direct login option.

        • I'm not sure what the direct login option is, but I thought the verification step is the same for everyone.

  • Any deals for Samsung Serif 65inch?

    • $1,724.25 and in stock. Not sure if it's a deal. It says it's a $574.75 discount on RRP of $2299.

      • +1

Thanks so much! I don’t have an education account so will wait for the next promotion. This is a good reference price.

      • What's the price on 43 inch if you don't mind?

  • +4

5% off when first time ordering on the app. Snapped a frame for the tv for $110 with it

    • FML I missed that. Haha Good deal!

    • What was your total total?

  • +4

FYI, The 65inch is the biggest size you can go for the the rotating mount

  • Sure it's a 22? The SS site has a 23 preorder.
Remember seeing the orig, reviews said the color/screen was worse than 'normal tv', how are these?

    • It's model number is QA65LS03BAWXXY will update post if needed.

      • Just been researching this to see if it's 2022 or 2023. Looks conflicting as one part of Samsung's site (retail) says 2023, but on their business section it's 2022. Go figure. I think it is 2023, but can't confirm 100%

        • Pretty sure that serial is for the 2022…but it is weird it says pre order! Not sure what's better to get haha

  • +1

There is a newer model on the horizon, but even Samsung won't divulge much info on availability etc.

    The question on everyones mind!!!

  • Sorry, I'm lazy, can you set these up to pull images from an Apple Photos album ?

    • I doubt directly but you can just copy image files over manually.

  • Good deal. Surprised no 2024 updates announced at eg CES, as there’s some definite low hanging fruit they could make to improve PQ (mainly more local dimming zones), processor etc. Know they’ve got a niche captive market with the art thang, as no one else is doing it well like this product

  • It says I can only get stock alert? How do we preorder?

    • +2

      Appears to be OOS now

      • Yes, marked as out of stock now. This being said, I saw this the other day and it literally took them 2 days and they had stock again. Don't trust the Get stock alert button. I pressed it and it didn't tell me it was available again. I just kept checking. Hope this helps.

    • +3

Looks to be discounted to 1500 at most stores and down to 1365 here https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/qa65ls03bawxxy-samsung-6…

      • +1

I just pulled the trigger on this one, thanks! 🙏

  • Nice one OP, so thanks, now how does one get a edu email 😊

  • This TV was never worth RRP.
The contrast, HDR peak brightness, PQ EOTF tracking and grey uniformity are average at best: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/the-frame-2022-qle…
Suitable for those who aren't concerned about minute details.

    • +1

      True ~
I have been using this TV (2022 version) for almost 2 years now. Upgraded from 2021 The Frame.
The colour is not amazing when watching movies and sports.
Gaming mode with PS5 and Nintendo Wii is pretty good.
Its best feature is the One Connect Box. Amazing technology to combine 4K120Hz signals, electricity, internet, soundbar connection into just a really thin silver cable.

      • i still have the 2021 frame which i just properly mounted on my bedroom wall. not a techgeek that cares about minutia, i'm contented with TV performance for my use case which is mostly at night watching streaming apps on my nvidia shield so the samsung UI doesn't bother me. But the artwork feature seems pretty dumb? the colours seem really yellow so i have to shift the color hue all the way to cool and even then it's only acceptable at best.

        https://i.imgur.com/eOEXfzK.jpg

but my issue is with brightness, it doesn't know how to auto-adjust based on it surroundings so in daytime my 30% brightness that i use for night time makes the screen look very washed out.

I was thinking of upgrading if the quality is a lot better on the 2022? also do you know if the slimwall mount is compatible going from 2021 to 2022?

        • +1

I heard 2021 and 2022 slim fit wall frame are the same

So for your case I believe is just need to swap tv out

  • Doh! I'm after a 65" I might try and see if tgg will price match 🤔

  • +3

Was about to buy it last night without seeing this post, no wonder it's sold out. Anyway, I visited HN today and managed to negotiate for $1,320 + $120 for the bezel, next week delivery. Hope this helps someone

    • Did they have the Bezels in stock?

      • +1

        Yes they do

  • +1

Back in stock. Just ordered with 5% discount for first app purchase.

  • I can't mark this as as back in stock. Wondering if a mod can do this?

    • +1

      It has been fixed.

  • +2

Just ordered. Got 5% off through the app.

Came to $1,210.44 delivered. Great price!

  • How do I pre-order? All I see on the page is a "where to buy" button and no price.

    • Looks like it's out of stock again.

  • +1

    Available to order again!

    • +1

Updated. They must be churning these TV's out like lollies atm.

  • Looking for anyone that currently has this TV wall mounted WITH OneConnect box behind it. What wall box did you use for it? Looking for some more information to assist with mounting the OneConnect.

    • I don't think they're designed to go in the wall behind the tv. I've seen people do it on YouTube but they get hot. Just run the cable in the wall in a tube that's rated for cable. Makes plugging stuff in alot easier too not sure how you'd do that when it's behind the tv.

      • Yeah, not too worried about plugging anything in to it. It's mainly for artwork and occasionally TV.

  • Missed the boat…again.

  • Before I go bother a relative for their edu.au login to check, is this now no longer available?

    • Looking for the asnwer as well…

      • +2

Yep, deal has expired. I logged on to see what price it's reverted to and the 65" doesn't exist. The 50" is priced at $1349 though.
