Alright

Found this weird Rust Eraser thing by Lodge, right? They're making it sound like some superhero for rusty pans or something. Precision for removing rust? It's a bit much, innit? I mean, it's not brain surgery; it's scraping off rust.

They say it's easy to hold. Well, it better be. I don't need a tool that's gonna slip out of my hand and turn into a rusty projectile. It's like, congratulations, now you've got a Lodge Rust Eraser lodged in your foot.

And apparently, it's great for cleaning rust from cast iron. I didn't know cast iron needed a spa day. Just scrub it with this eraser thing, and voilà, your pan's feeling brand new. I didn't realize my cookware had emotional needs.

But hey, if you're into giving your cast iron some TLC and need a precise, easy-to-hold rust eraser, Lodge has got you covered. Personally, I'll stick to my regular scrubbing routine. It's worked fine so far, and my pans don't need therapy.

Seems it works but bit too expensive

…but you're the one that made up the stuff about emotional needs and therapy?

Is this Lodge Rust eraser actually an easy-to-hold, precision cry for help?

Look after your pans and save $17

  • anyone tried wanna of these and can comment? I've got a rust eraser but its small so takes awhile to remove rust

  • "#1 Best Seller in Art Erasers"!

  • Is this not just a sharpening stone? I keep my cast iron well oiled (probably too oiled) so don't have rust issues, but in the past I've just given it a quick scrub with a scourer.

I just restored 4 cast iron items with moderate rust from living out doors for a year, and it really only required a 1 hr bath in vinegar and 10 mins with a 50c steel weel scourer to bring it back to bare metal. This is less of a serious contender for usage, more a novelty collectors item. Kinda like that lemon juicer that won all those design awares (but honestly no where near as cool).

And actually, I think a scourer would better fit the contours of most cast iron items compared to this device, so I'd wager its much less effective.

I wonder if this would work on my 6x4 trailer.

    • Maybe it'll need therapy afterwards

    • Only if you season it afterwards
