Ultimate Edition is on sale for less than the cost of the base game on GOG Ukraine. I used Nord, worked out to $40.80 for me.

If you VPN to Ukraine it should be much cheaper (I paid less than $20 AUD for it from memory)

          • +2

@Dr PhilGood: Nope, they doubled the price of the base game and the DLC recently, it's why I posted this deal as for some reason the Ultimate Ed didn't get the same price increase.

    when $10 ill get it

      • Try playing the game with your non-dominant hand, could make it more challenging

Ha. Clearly a couple of people disagree with me.

I’m coming off playing the previous CDPR game, Witcher 3.

Enemy encounters are just few and far between in CP2077, in TW3 you would just head out to the wilderness and encounter all manner of enemies, with challenging combat. In CP2077 even dialling the difficulty up if you’re playing as a Netrunner almost every battle can be completed without taking much, if any, damage. I found myself trying to battle gang affiliates throughout the city just for some more action.

With a couple of exceptions the entire city just looked and felt the same. On PC the driving mechanics were so awful that you didn’t want to explore anyway.

There was so much more depth to TW3, the characters, and the locations.

          • +3

@SolitaryMan: I treat it like a one off campaign FPS story with lite RPG and open world elements, with that perspective it's pretty good. It's not comparable to TW3 or RD2 as it's not a true 'open world' RPG where like you said…alot more interactivity with the world.

For what it is it's a good price for original game plus 1 DLC.

I do wish they keep developing it and add more stuff alas they lost a lot of ground and money with the initial f up.

            • @hippo2s: Good point, I guess I shouldn’t compare it to TW3 and RDR2 for open-world value. As I already have the base game I don’t feel like picking up the expansion at this point given any method of buying it seems like close to full-price.

Time to finally work through some of the others I’ve picked up over the years (when I’m not diving back into RDR2).

              • @SolitaryMan: I'm in the same boat! Would love the play the DLC but have not seen it available standalone cheap enough. I have chosen to re-play and try a different build to see if it brings more joy…My first play-thru was a netrunner - made it too easy like you said. But the world remains pretty silent….wish i could interact with more shops, stall vendors, random strangers. More in-depth encounters.

Waiting on Starfield to get further along patching roadmap before switching.

are they any free vpn around?

    • +1

I think windscribe might still have a free version.

      • I don't think the Windscribe free plan would offer a Ukraine VPN server. That would be a strictly paid plan feature.

  • +3

Great game and ever greater DLC. Still waiting for Elden Ring DLC.

  • So many VPN deals, but I still don't understand how you manage to pay with one 🥴

    • Wat?

    • -1

You done just need to set your VPN to a specific country, you have to pay with that place's currency.

      • I think sometimes you have to switch off the VPN just before you actually make the payment. Credit card companies and Paypal might think it is fraud if an Australian card or Paypal card is being used in an overseas country. Paypal might let you through still with an oversea IP, but they may require you to change your password (this happened to me several years ago).

    • I've used paypal twice for GOG and never had a problem

Isn’t the latest skill tree just ass tho can’t be bothered even playing now

    • +9

Nope, it's great. It has been refined to make it less confusing and less messy. Just pick the style you want to play and follow that tree.

Only downside now is that you only get one respec. After that you're stuck with your choices.

    • +8

The skill tree is far better now then it was before? Most skills now have actual visible and tangible effects and no longer just lousy stat increases.

      • what but if I’m playing pistols there is only 1 tree relevant? before there was 2

what am I suppose to do with all the other points they not going to increase my dps, boring.

        • +2

Put them in another tree and unlock more cool S#*t? If you've maxed a tree you should be destroying enemies..

          • -5

@OzAmore: not going to increase my dps tho?

why bother just go watch a movie

  • -2

Good find. 2077 is definite worth its price at this pricepoint.

Now where's all those sweeny shills that goes 'tHiS iS aGaInST the tOs!111!! Dont seem to see those whiny **** anywhere today

  • I bought Baldur's Gate 3 due to its massive upvotes:

I know Cyberpunk 2077 is two years old game, better with patch 2.0, but is it worth the $40?

    • +1

I would say Yes. Story only probably 40~ hours but with so many side quests and stuff can well double the playtime and more.

    • +4

Games are subjective. I can't tell you if you will like it.

That said, in it's current 2.0 state it's objectively great. The Phantom Liberty DLC has a metacritic score of 89/100. Very few games get near that score. Whether you like it or not is another thing, but personally I would say it's at least worth $40.

      • Thank you both :)

    • okay my opition might be a bit subjective but
This is the best open world game in recent years. I'd happily pay full price if i have too.
Yes even comparing to Elden ring i prefer Cyberpunk (mainly because of the story line and Characters). Obviously this is subject to personal perference.
Been having a blast as i've picked it up since patch 2.1

    • Absolutely. If you have a reasonable PC, this is also far and away the best looking game you will have ever played. Nothing else even comes close and I legitimately think it will be many years before we even see anything that approaches what cyberpunk offers today.
