      • You might just be able to buy one jumbo slurpee with $50 in 75 years time. Great Success!

  • Okay. I got my $50. Just now transferred my initial $10 deposit, $0.01 interest and $50 to my bank account. ($60.01)

Is it possible to close the account online?

    Perhaps with the chat people?

    Thanks.

    • I don't think it can be done online, but you should be able to call them up and cancel the account.

    Thanks OP and ING :)

  • opened my account on 25/10 and got my $50 today. i'm an existing Orange Everyday account holder, btw.

initially tried to activate the account by setting up a link from my ubank account. got a text from ING asking me to call them. turns out this penny activation system that ubank uses will show the same BSB but a different account number than the ubank account i wanted to link up with ING.

we solved this by just sending some funds from my ubank without linking it first. 42 cents later and it was activated :)

    • so you CAN get the $50 if you're an existing Orange Everyday customer?? Or did you get in before they allegedly changed their fine print? It now states "To be eligible for the $50 cash bonus you must be a new ING DIRECT customer"

      • that's also the fine print i saw when i signed up. ticked the "not existing customer" box anyway :p

i actually thought the request to call them was because they found out i already had an OE account lol

Thanks op I received my $50 today.

  • Got my $50 too thanks!

Just on another note, my interest for that account is showing as

Current standard variable interest rate 0.00% pa
Current promotional variable interest rate for
balance up to $250,000.00 1.85% pa

So is that a total of 1.85%?

    • just contact the customer service and they will change it for you..mine was showing 3% something and then they changed it to 5.35..

  • this still works?

    • Should do if you get your deposit in before 1st December. ;)

      • thanks yo!

      • The fine print on the offer says the 7th, can you clarify where the first comes from?

Hi all, just wondering if this works in conjunction with the ING Refer a friend Bonus (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85185).

Ie if I referred my friend using my refer code, and they activated both savings account and everyday account — would they receive $50 for opening ING Direct Savings Account and depositing, and another $50 for the referral opening of Orange Everyday transaction account?

  • Hi all, ( I also posted this comment on the RAF forum, just now)!!!!!!!!!

I just got of the phone with ING, to check if the SAVMAX promo is still on, as their page shows it ends on the 7th (http://campaigns.ingdirect.com.au/Savings-account?cid=ps%3Ag…).
They said (2 diff ppl) that it's still on until the 7th, as per their website. So they should honor this until the 7th.

I also asked if I can combine the 2 current offers (SavMax $50 & RAF $50), they said it should be ok, if you don't have an account already. The guy said to sign up first with the SavMax completely, without applying for an OE account.
Wait until your SavMax account is fully setup, then use the RAF micro site (that promo is until 31 Jan). So if you choose to add OE while setting up SavMax you will most likely not get both offers.

I have no control over this info, I'm only going with what they said, 10mins ago.

Hope this helps someone, I will join up tonight hopefully.
    P.S I all ready have a RAF code,thanks mrhorseham :)

    Cheers
