I like the idea of electric motorcycles, but damn this thing is ugly.

    • +7

That’s cos it’s actually a scooter. Very expensive one at that.

    • +5

I personally like this futuristic looking design. I like the white colour.

      • +1

It might be possible to mod this into an Akira Cyberbike

        • +2

Called up BMW to ask for you. They said yes for an additional low price of $50k.

  • +6

For that money I would want it to do more than 130km lol

    • 130 claimed, but actual usage might be low

  • Overall power and performance wise, what the closest equivalent engine size in ccs?

    • The 04 indicates that it's equivalent to a 400cc. Top speed is limited to 120kph. As it's electric it can accelerate pretty rapidly.

      • it's pretty slow - my 2021 R1 does 0-100 in a touch over 3 seconds

        Just saw its LAMS

Will be nice once they release some real electric big boy bikes - going to be fun

        • going to be fun

For paramedics and accident units? (when big electric bikes do 0-100 in 1 second) 💨💨

    • An elastic band.
It's LAMS approved so certainly won't be breaking and speed records.
Suspicious to market the 0-50km/h time and not 0-100km/h.

    loud pipes save lives

    • Just add a carbon fibre pipe to this bad boy lol

    • +1

      I disagree with this.

Damned near every time I hear i motorbike passing me in my car is only AFTER they have passed me.

obviously the super stupidly loud bike are heard a long way off. but thats hardly a good solution.

      • I’m not advocating unbaffled pipes, it’s the principle.

Bikes are frequently unseen, silent bikes are bound to be a hazard imo.

    Ugly. Ugly. Ugly.

    OZrrp

  • 65 minutes from 0% to 80% charging power at maximum charge current using the optional quick charger

Important to know that this costs $$$$. If you're using the included regular charger then the recharge time is 270 minutes (4.5 hrs).

    • +4

      You hate trains too bruh?

      • +5

Yeah I do actually Sunshine Coast to Gold Coast took me 5 hours fk trains also

  • Top speed 120km/h capped

  • Bikes barely use any fuel as it is, I don't think anyone is buying this to save on fuel.

People complaining about the price, you know a modded surron costs more than this? A Chinese non roadworthy eboke that's been modded to go faster than 100kp/h. This is good value depending on your perspective.

    • +3

Barely any fuel? Depends what people are riding - don't buy a 1000cc bike if you think its going to save you fuel money……… I get 200kms out of a 15l tank and that's being conservative - If I'm having fun, sub 100kms

      • +1

Yep when I had my 1000cc bike I was putting fuel in it all the time and the rear tyre didn't even last 12 months. The price you pay to have fun…..all worth it though.

    • +1

Dunno bout that mate, my SV surprisingly was thirstier than my ‘08 Prius

It’s a hybrid, sure but the bike was quite a bit thirstier and that’s just at fairly mellow commute style riding.

      • Keyword commute and mellow.

SVs use less fuel at mid-2/3 RPM, and commuting hurts it more.

But yeah, on paper SVs claim 5l/100km, so hybrid should still have the advantage.

        • commuting hurts it more

My commute was Geelong to Melb, the mellow means I’m not a grinning idiot on the throttle

    • Get a GB350 then. 2.5l/100km fuel economy!

    • +3

"Bikes barely use any fuel as it is"
as stated by others above, it depends
      210kg KTM 990 ADV 18 litres got me 280km (6.4l/100km)
1200kg Lancer CC GSR 8l/100km for same type of journey.
      both using 95 octane
      .

What's the bargain?? Isn't that RRP?

  • They would sell more of this thing if it wasn't so ugly 😭

  • should I buy one for uber eat

    • It depends on how many Ks you do per day mate.

  • Man that is one butt fugly electric scooter right there, and look at the price of that monstrosity!

  • Doesn't work with DC fast charger plug, so good luck on highway drives.

  • Kenedaaaaaaaah!!!!

  • +2

Whats the bargain OP? What discount do we get off RRP?

  • Do i want an EV motorcycle? yes
Do i want a BMW motorcycle? Also yes
Do i want this EV BMW motorcycle? hell to the no
It's just so ugly, looks like an overpriced stretched out scooter. which is weird, BMW design AMAZING motorcycles, Most of their product lines look gorgeous….and then they release this CE atrocity, what were they thinking.

  • why is this condition there ?

"Price is based on the motorcycle being garaged in Sydney metro and a private owner with a good driving record."
