  • My local Aldi only has the LG 32SR50F 32" FHD Smart Monitor available. Do any of you know if it's as good as this one, or at least a decent alternative?

I've just ordered two LG 29WL50S - 29-inch Ultrawide FreeSync monitors, but I am not sure if the LG 32SR50F is a better option or not.

    • +1

The 32SR50F is only 1080p. I'd avoid it.

      • Thanks mate. I was hoping for a response before I received the 'your order has been dispatched' email from Amazon.
It'll only be for office work, but I will avoid it. I am still tempted to call my nearest Aldi to see if they have any of these in stock.

  • Hi guys, could you please kindly advise which store still has the 4k one please? My local store only has the webOS one…

  • Do these have VESA mounts so that you can attach them to a monitor arm rather than using the stand?

On the LG page, under 'Features' it stays: VESA DisplayHDR™ - NO
And under 'Mechanical' it says: Wall Mountable [mm] - 100 x 100 mm

  • They have this in stock in Canberra for $299 is everywhere else $249?.

    • +2

It was $299 throughout Jan at my local Aldi in VIC and dropped to $249 last week.

      • which Aldi in VIC have them in stock now? Thanks

      • I wonder if I should wait then.

        • +3

That was my strategy but couldn't risk it anymore as there was only 1 left when the price dropped to $249

    • Where in Canberra? How did you check the stock? Ta

      • You can’t check stock. You go in and look.

        • Yep that's why I asked him where and how 🙂

      • Got that wrong the model in Tuggernong is 32SR50F

        • Ah ok, no problem. Ta

  • An I correct in saying (based off the comments) that this is good for general office work but not to watch netflix etc through an amazon firestick?

our office/spare room is used to watch tv in the evenings (far away from kids room so it doesnt wake them up) and work during day but the 27" dell 4k monitor is a bit small for tv viewing.

    • It is a great video device for Netflix. Just not super bright (check your room) but a perfect general purpose 4K monitor.

    • +1

It's great for Netflix. The dark blacks make it look better than my IPS monitors.

  • Anyone seen stock in WA?

    • +1

No so far, I've checked Warwick, Madeley and Wanneroo north of the river with no luck.

  • +3

Saw one remaining in my local. Checked on here to see 90+ upvotes. Bought.

  • +1

I saw mine on display last week. Only one, all by it's loneself. Checked it out, seemed sus. Could only find the Amazon Launch Date link for $500 and no other reviews. Decided to sleep on it. I couldn't. All night long my brain was kicking me for not buying it. Woke up and went in at 8.30 the morning, it was gone. Could only find the shitty newer ones from the current catalogue.

I asked the manager and he said that they'd just moved it into storage and he'd go grab it for me. So I am now a proud owner! I feel bad that I didn't ask him for a further markdown, but oh well, a deal is a deal!

  • I have seen a couple locally at $249, whats the sound like on these? I have a Lenovo G27q-30 27" QHD that I could upgrade, not sure if I want to though but it might be a good buy for the kids monitor/tv for their room

    • +1

Sound is like all monitors. Average at best. I never use it.

    • +2

The sound is fine for video conferencing, but too tinny to enjoy a movie.
Just plug in a cheap set of logitech speakers or something.

      • The sound turned out to be ok for my needs but I have no luck with plugging in stereos/speakers to headphone jacks, I have to turn the volume to maximum to hear anything. This is on multiple monitors, I really dont know what I am doing wrong.

    • Different model altogether. Most recent one is the 1080p you're talking about. This 4K model was from a couple months ago.

    • Yep. From November. Clearing them out:

    • +4

This is actually very misleading. It is not a 4k monitor, only 1080p resolution. please change the title i went to ALDI and wasted my time.

Aldi sells both the 32SR50F and the 32UR500. This deal is about the 32UR500.
It's not misleading, you just looked at the wrong monitor.

2 days ago, my local store had two in stock.

Yesterday I went round to two nearby stores and they had no stock.

I went back today, there was only one in stock so I purchased it at $249

I had to double check the model number just in case!

Picked up one this morning. Local store had 5 on Tuesday and still had 5 today, the boxes were aligned the same so it didnt look like it was restocked. Thinking about buying a 2nd one for my son.

    • @MangoMadness which store if you don't mind sharing (feel free to PM).

I checked Chatswood and Eastwood NSW and no stock.

Hmm, Has AMD FreeSync, Might be OK for a budget gaming set up (For budget gaming you probably don't expect more than 60fps, but FreeSync should stop you having to choose between tearing and suddenly dropping to 30fps when your GPU can't quite keep up.)

  • Can someone pls suggest the best picture settings (brightness/contrast) for this monitor? Thanks :)

    • +3

I have experimented a lot and now settled with Contrast 75, Brightness 90 HDR disabled connected to a Macbook via HDMI

      • Thanks for the response. I was playing with the picture settings yesterday and couldn't settle on anything. I will use your settings :)

      • +2

Contrast 75, Brightness 100 for me….Win10 connected via DP.

  • anyone found for under $249 around Melbourne east?

  • Is this monitor bright enough?

    • For my use case in an office yes.
