  • wish i can buy c3 42inch at this price

    • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/816404 it's been this price before, I'm waiting for it to get to this price again

      • +1

me too, now the lowest that i can find its 1,595 at appliance central

        • Yeah I'll bite at $1350 just so I don't have to wait again, will end up using it as both TV and monitor so for that price it's a steal

          • +1

@lookingforadeal7: Price drop according to history would likely be around early March, unless the cycle is different this year around. They can get as low as under $1K from Ebay in the past for C2.

      • C2 got below $1000 when they were on clearance

    • Am already on C2 42 since a year. No regrets!

      • Same, couldn't imagine going back to 27". After a while 42" feels like a standard size (I have mine mounted on an arm though).

  • resolution probably a good detail to add to the post

    edit: ty op :D

    • Yeah I just lazily copy and pasted title from Amazon, you really have to scroll through the Amazon page if you wanted to know the resolution as a buyer too.

  • Is there an OLED monitor (non-gaming) that can be used for office and media? (Hopefully cheaper too)

    • Proven to last through all the static productivity work? No, none have shown that they can last through an extensive period of time.

All you can do is buy one that have burn-in warranty. Not sure what that's like in AUS though with our consumer lawn and all that.

      • I would say LG WOLED since LG CX/C1 is probably the most mature in terms of preventing burn-in. Just don't turn off pixel shifting or the ABL.

        • TV and monitor panels are different, monitors have NOT been tested enough to say they'll last, if anything there's more signs of them failing than anything.

          • @Tbargain12: I thought the panel used in the 27gr95qe is pretty much like a smaller version of the lg oled tv panels. Maybe i just misremembered

            • @Niaq00: While same in terms of WOLED tech, I believe they would be using completely different components, like the C series TVs have the processors that handles the burn in mitigations as well as different cooling solutions, the different products also offer different brightness levels etc.

  • Rtings had two of these die both at the 8month period just fair warning.

And showed serious image retention at 1800 hours of use

oled is amazing, but these drawbacks still make me hesistant to just stick to my ultrawides untill microiled is a thing

    • You'll be waiting for a while for MicroLED to come to the monitor space.

      • Yeah he'll end up with QD OLED if anything, they've been looking super promising for monitors

  • +1

Truthfully if this was $999 it would be a great buy.

Be weary about the C2 42…it is massive!

  • picked one of these up second hand recently, can confirm they are great, text a bit blurry but gaming HDR is incredible

  • Any thoughts / experience with this one as a cheaper alternative (obviously not OLED)?

    27" MSI G274QPX WQHD 240Hz IPS Gaming Monitor - $569
    https://www.computeralliance.com.au/parts?id=37062

      • Thanks - But not in stock until end of the month.

    • not a direct comparison, IPS vs. OLED, completely different tech, OLED is superior

if you want IPS, then yes good specs that one, can get cheaper

      • Does the MSI support VRR over HDMI (even though it's only HDMI 2.0b)? Can't seem to find an rtings review on it.

  • +2

AOC variant of this that uses the same panel is available for almost $300 cheaper than this

  • Great deal but Aorus FO48U 4K OLED is around the same price. When I first got it thought it was too enormous but now used to it and hard to downsize.

    • Nice did you get it for this price? Seems like a steal

      • Got it for 1500 a few years ago, but it's been cheaper. I think it's still selling for around 1600 if you look around :)

  • +1

Not quite an ATL, which I saw happened during PAX last year. LG also had 10% cashback to make it something like $1150

    • +1

Yeah those PAX deals were good, need to wait for this years and hopefully some upsized cashback again

  • Was looking at this LG one but I was concerned with the burning issue.

Then purchased the Apple Studio Display and very happy with it.
