If you don't mind Box Damage, it's cheaper from their eBay Store

Samsung doesn't have the best customer service…

        • +4

Do NOT buy direct from Samsung Store. You have been warned.

I've had so much drama returning a faulty computer screen to them in the past.

Check their reviews online. Dismal or non existent customer service.

          • +1

@metalhead: Mixed bag, my cousin has purchased from them on several occasions and never had a problem with delivery or refunds. Get this, he initiated a return for 2 soundbars, they refunded him before collecting the soundbars and no one called him to arrange collection LOL. So as you can imagine, he loves them. I only ever purchased 1 item from them but realised it was cheaper elsewhere and my refund was processed immediately.

          • +3

@metalhead: They just fixed a screen for my tv 1 month out of warranty

          • @metalhead: I just got booted off chat for the 5th time trying to sort out my last Samsung s24ultra order. Awaiting a call back for more unfulfilled promises. NIGHTMARE!

        • +4

They're good if you press them enough. I talked back and forth with them about my TV's voice assistant which lacked certain advertised functions. 9 months later they refunded the whole tv and I got to keep it.

Samsung don't have customer service 👆

        • +2

I had a great experience with their crap customer service. Ordered a phone during one of their coupon stack deals. A couple of days later, contacted support to cancel cos I ordered a different colour. They cancelled the order and gave refund…. And both phones arrived a few weeks later.

@angelbaby out of curiosity (and sheer anxiety re:how should I initiate), what did you say to them?

      • +7

        angelbaby: hi Samsung!! 🥰

        Samsung:

        angelbaby: ….i love you 🥹

Samsung: ….here take 10% and byeeee!

        angelbaby: 😘

        lol non-offence @angelbaby just a silly scenario

        • +1

hahaha, i do love samsung 😂

      • +2

Here's all I said - "Hello, I am interested in purchasing a product from Samsung and would like to request a discount code please."

Keep in mind you will need a photo of a pre-existing Samsung product with the serial number included to receive the code.

        • +2

          Thanks, it worked!

bummer the code doesn't stack with edu store 😭 They said the same thing for my s24 ultra but i heard it still stacked with edu for the ultra

  • +4

It’s been this price for a couple of weeks now, so I can’t imagine there being too much stock left. $999 on the EPP store and presumably the EDU store too if you have access, or cheaper still in the Samsung eBay store for a box damage unit (they had 35 units a week ago, now down to 12).

    • Oh, really? I'm surprised no one posted it.

      • +1

Yeah, it’s odd. They were running these models out in the US and Europe late last year, not sure why they still had so many of these sitting around. Even compared to 2023 models, still an excellent TV. Ordered one for the second living room, but haven’t taken delivery yet.

  • I'm a bit behind the times with TV, but is Samsung doing oled and qled now?

    • +1

      Sure are :)

    • +3

covering dark room and light room options.

  • The lack of updates on a 4 year old tv would be my only worry

    • +1

How many brands even provide updates that long though?
Connect an NVIDIA Shield if you're worried about updates.

    • +2

It was still getting firmware updates as of September last year. Also, it’s just a TV OS. All the main updates with actual noticeable improvements rolled out within the first year.

  • +1

15% off Samsung website via Westpac shows $999.

    • +1

Same through Gov (and presumably Edu).

    • going to pull the trigger and don't have westpac. Is it transferable or code I can use?

      • Sorry, it's not a code. Those who can need to click a link in their Westpac account. Maybe you know a student?

  • For someone that mainly watches in a dark room, would this be better than a 2019 used LG OLED C9? (In your opinion).
Better in terms of value and also in terms of performance/quality.

    • The C9 gets a slightly better rating but for me, new always wins over second-hand.
      https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/samsung-q90-q90t-qle…
How much are they selling it for? How many hours has it done? Are there any panel faults? Personally, I wouldn't risk purchasing a second-hand OLED. You may disagree.

      • Ok thanks for your thoughts. I thought that a 2nd hand OLED would be fine as long as there are no faults or damage. It basically just hangs on the wall and is rarely touched, its not like buying a second hand dishwasher where there are lots of mechanical components that can wear and tear. Of course they are quite fragile, but if there is no damage then there is no damage. They are asking $1300.

I'm more interested in the differences between this QLED and the C9 OLED. I feel like it is all very marginal when talking about TVs like this but I also am new to this stuff so I don't really know what I'm talking about.

        • Check the link I posted, the difference is minor. Sure, OLED will look better in a dark room but at this price, there's no chance I would be spending 1.3k on a used C9. Your money, your choice. Find out how many hours it has done and do a panel test before handing it over.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Ok fair enough. Appreciate the advice, I will proceed with caution.

  • How would this compare to the TCL 65C845 65" C845 4K UHD Mini LED?

    • TCL and Hisense have excellent panels but are let down by their software problems and LD algorithm. If you're not nit-picky, you will be satisfied with these 2 brands. Where would my money go if I was choosing between the 2? Samsung without a doubt.

      • +2

Ah ok, thanks for the advice. I just bought one.

If it's the first time buying something through the samsung store you get another 5% off which via Westpac brought the TV down to $949.05 delivered.

        • +1

          Cracking price, congrats! :)

        • +1

          Nice got one.

      • I wouldn't say Hisense has excellent panels, not for us in AU. In the US perhaps. We get the crap Panels over here.

        • Read foneymonk's comment about the U8K: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/988lpvwl?p=3#r49
"The HDR highlights and colour volume take a massive dump on both my LG C1 and Panasonic GZ1000 OLEDs."
That's a big call to make so they're not all bad. You just have to know which ones to avoid.

If it's the first time buying something through the samsung store you get another 5% off which via Westpac brought the TV down to $949.05 delivered.

        • +1

Ah I missed that comment, cheers.

      • How? I didnt get anything extra

  • T? Where does this sits in the samsung range?

    • Don't worry about the T, it's the numbers that matter. 95 = Flagship.

  • Added to cart through Westpac still says $999.

    • +2

If you buy first time thru Samsung ..then extra 5 percent off

  • -3

Oh my eyes! Just checked a review, I can't go back to LED after my 48 inch C2.

  • Sold out again? Had one in the cart but had to stuff around downloading app, then logging in through Westpac for discount and now cart is empty and can't add… Booooo.

  • +1

I think i got the last one. Checked out 5 mins ago. Didn't even look at the specs. Reading them now.

  • Also had one in cart and then disappeared in checkout.

  • +1

I resisted at $1200 then went to edu store, was listed at $999. I couldn't resist that, don't even need a new tv. I already have the same model tv. Good picture only thing is it has tizen OS. A bit of a pain but I'll put on nvidea.

    • Is it still on stock on the edu store?

      • no

  • Don't you need an .edu email for that?

Also does the 10% off code work with edu store?

  • Finished uni a few years ago, but they keep the email address active. Not sure about the 10%. App wasn't working and I knew I had to be quick

  • This or micro led TCL?

    • I guess the TCL since your comment came in after this post marked OOS?

    • That’s already been addressed . Read the first page.

CEE-25GN-G2G8-B3FM 10% off code I won't be using if anyone is interested

  • These were $999 on their employer rewards section

These are known to suffer from really bad motion issues with 50hz signals, rendering them shithouse for Kayo along with a lot of other streaming apps. Was an instant no go given this.

    • Ouch, I have one on order and possibly regretting the decision now. I do a lot of streaming eg Netflix, Plex, Foxtel Go etc, it sounds like I'm going to hate this tv.

Have you got any links to this issue?

      • Streaming should be fine, the issue will be most noticeable on FTA TV from what I've read.

        • Oh thanks for that. That's fine, I don't even bother connecting the FTA antenna I watch so little of it.

      • +2

I wouldn't be concerned about Samsung's motion handling because TCL is even worse. RTINGS have made no mention about poor motion handling anyway. Firmware could have also resolved such issues by now. Don't panic and wait for the TV to arrive before making judgement. Too many factors at play.

    • +1

Just been testing and absolutely no issues what so ever, excellent quality at this price.

  • Back in stock and can be purchased for $999 using code SSTWO in checkout! Ends 11am AEDT 14/2.

Also if U make a new Samsung account you also get another 5% for Ur first purchase

      • You betcha. Also remember the 10% loyalty discount via chat if you haven’t made the purchase yet. All they need is a serial number from a Samsung TV. Would be keen to know if it stacks.

        • +2

Confirming it stacks. SSTWO and 10% loyalty code bring it down to $939.05. Stoked to have one on the way, thanks OP.

@bargainsm8: Wow, that’s excellent! Thanks for sharing and congrats :)

    • Looks like out of stock again

      • One left on the eBay deal by the looks of it

For anyone wondering, the delivery experience was flawless through Samsung. This is my second purchase. First one a year ago was clunky and poorly managed but got there in the end. This time the product was delivered on the date I requested during order and there was excellent communication/updates. Haven’t unboxed yet but no issues with box damage or delivery teams actions.

    • +3

Received mine just now and I'd second this. Great communication and delivered up a flight of stairs, very happy.

    • I wish I could say the same. I wanted to change my delivery address the day after my order, it says you can in the order confirmation email. I didn't want to miss the window where it's too late too change so I've been ringing everyday. I've had to call everyday because the order is stuck in verification, whatever that means and while its in that state they can't update it. After calling everyday they've now said they can't change the delivery address as the new address is in a different state and that affects the tax invoice lol. I'm sure it would have gone fine except for the need for an order adjustment. It's been really frustrating and I'm not even sure I'm going to receive the TV to the original address yet.
