  • Awesome deal and seller! Shame that I need to hold off until the next deal. Hoping to go to Fiji in the new year but looks like the physical SIM needs to be activated by November 2024.

    • Hey @park it

      Thanks!

Keep an eye out; we'll have deals between now and then. You'll find them here and on our website.

      -Aidan

  • Any single-country eSIMs? Going to Italy for 2 weeks in October, and this Airalo deal of 10GB 30 days for US$12 looks great, can you match?
    https://www.airalo.com/italy-esim/mamma-mia-30days-10gb

    • Hey @sheikyerbouti

      We cannot match that, unfortunately.

      -Aidan

  • Hey Aiden, you didn't answer my question; did you miss it? Here it is again:

Hi, I am going to Italy for a month at the end of May, with a side trip to Croatia and Montenegro (11 day cruise). I would like to have an esim for my S23 Ultra with good data and Local/International calls. Orange have one for Europe, what say you? TIA.

    • Hey @Madbro

Sorry about that! Been getting flooded with messages.

Our only eSIM with international and local European calls is here.

Check the details before you purchase!

      -Aidan

  • Hi. I will go to S.Korea in this April. So, I'm considering your eSim. Are you sure that it supports 5G in S.Korea? I know most prepaid sim cards work over only 4G in S. Korea. Sim from Klook and local carrier at airport works on only 4G. Also, there is not enough information reagrding exceed data. Ie, LG U+ prepaid offers unlimited 4G/LTE. But, it's 3GB per day and if it exceeds, speed will be capped up to 5Mbps.

    • Hey @mjkwon7

It supports 5G and 4G. However, I cannot comment on how much you will get 4G and 5G. It will depend on location.

You will be on the SKT/KT networks.

The 2GB high speed per day is capped to 0.5mbps once you've hit your daily limit.

      Hope this answers your questions!

      -Aidan

  • Just bought 3 for Japan, they worked well last year.
And got to use PayPal Pay in 4 too which was a bonus.

      Hey @DazMon

Awesome! Thanks for the purchase :)

      -Aidan

  • I’ll be needing two e-sims for South Korea for October 2024, will you have a sale closer to that date/can I please have a sale code then?
    Thank you!

    • +1

      Hey @Seanix00bs

      Just DM'd you!

      -Aidan

  • I'll be in Europe for 4 months so am looking at the 365 days / 71 country SIM.

I will occasionally need to make intra-country or intra-EU phone calls where Whatsapp, etc. is not an option (i.e. to a hotel) and therefore a call to a landline or mobile number is required.

What are my options considering this SIM only supports data? I really had Skype so don't want to use that. I don't wan to buy 4 x 30 day data/voice SIMs as that is far too pricey.

    • Hey @mikeadwell

Skype or Viber (or similar VOIP services) are your only options to get around this.

If you have an eSIM device or dual SIM device you can use our SIMs/eSIMs for data (to avoid fees) and use your home SIM for calls/texts.

You will just need to confirm the cost of making/receiving calls with your home carrier.

      -Aidan

      • Thanks - so sounds like I need to find a cheap SIM I can move to that allows for some international calls.

        • Hey @mikeadwell

          Yes, that could work.

You could also find something when you land that has everything you need, however, I am unable to give any recommendations.

          -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan,
I’m trying to use TopCashback for the additional 10% cash back but when I log in to the simsdirect site, it’s coming up with a 404 error. Any work around to this?

    • Hey @gee3k

We have stopped our partnership with Cashback, which may be why it's not working.

      -Aidan

  • @SimsDirect

Will this work in Jan 2025? Only for 3 weeks, but long time until activation.

    https://simsdirect.com.au/collections/europe/products/eu-tra…

    Edit: I need 6 sims.

    • Hey @President Bartlett

      I would wait personally.

You could purchase them now if you wanted to; however, between now and Jan 25, we might have better products, and we will also have plenty of offers between now and then!

      Up to you!

      -Aidan

  • Sadly i miss out. My first trip to Japan starts July 24.
Its great that you have been here to support so many questions Aidan.

    • Hey @feisty

No worries, I'll DM you a code to use closer to your date :)

      -Aidan

  • Please excuse my ignorance, what's the advantage of buying these SIMs compared to buying one when you land at the country/destination?

Also, is it possible to keep the SIM forever if you choose to do so?

    Thanks.

    • +1

      Hey @Blackcat2

      No problem at all!

It's personal preference, really. Some people wait until they land and get a local SIM card.

Some prefer to buy online before they go and not worry about that when they land.

      Some additional benefits:

      • You are buying from an Aussie company
      • Aussie 24/7 support
      • eSIMs allow you to keep your home SIM in your device

Also, is it possible to keep the SIM forever if you choose to do so?

No they will expire after use.

      -Aidan

      • Cool, thanks for the reply. So after the allocated days has expired, I can't top it up to keep using the number?

        • +1

          Hey @Blackcat2

          That is correct :)

          -Aidan

  • So if I purchase a data only e-sim, then I would not have a number to provide for hotel / restaurant bookings overseas? Is this correct?

    • Hey @cytotoxic

You could provide your home number and keep your home SIM active for calls and texts only (use the eSIM for data).

This is possible within your settings.

It would be worth checking your home providers Ts and Cs on this though.

      -Aidan

  • @SimsDirect Hi. I'm looking at the unlimited Europe esim. We leave for our trip in June. Is that too late to activate?

    • Hey @Farrandor1

That eSIM must be activated within 90 days of purchase, so you must wait.

DM me and I can create you code for later use.

      -Aidan.

  • Hey Aidan, I'm leaving for New Zealand on 4th May, will I need to purchase closer to the date to ensure it's within the activation period. Could I have a code please if so

    • Hey @lilmarnn

For the NZ products, you do not need to wait. Just go ahead and purchase!

      -Aidan

  • Good deal! I've used your sims a bunch of times for my Japan trips pre-Covid and they've always been great. Awesome reception even when I'm away from big city centres. Never had any issues whatsoever. And I've always appreciated how much effort you guys put into replying to everyone. I'm going back late March and I'm looking forward to using your sims again!

    • +1

      Hey @bargainjargon

Thank you for the lovely feedback! ❤️

      Glad we can help :)

      -Aidan

  • I have tried the South East Asia eSIM (6 Countries) which advertises as 4G and used it in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. It never connected to 4G and was on LTE only. Had multiple e-sims on different phones and same result. The speed was quite slow as a result.

    • Hey @haz

      Thanks for the feedback!

Do you have any speed test results you could send my way? I can look into this further.

Just an FYI: LTE is an improved version of 4G.

With 4G LTE you should have 15 -100 mbps (depending on location).

      -Aidan

      • Thanks for your reply. I didn't do any speed test. When using it, videos sometimes struggled to load and website download was slow.

Where do get the information that LTE is an improved version of 4G?. I understand it to be between 3G and 4G speed only.

        • Hey @haz

Sorry, you are correct. That's my mistake.

After the 3G UMTS system was developed, there was a need to create even better standards for the telecommunications system. This led to the creation of LTE, a standard similar to 4G but not quite 4G. Not only did LTE mean faster data speed and better performance, but it also meant lower operating costs.

          Article

From my understanding, the network speed can vary depending on network load (number of users) and location. I will still bring this to our partner and dig deeper. Hopefully, this will not impact the majority of customers.

I'm sorry that you had to experience slow speeds during your travel, I hope it was not too impactful on your travel experience.

          -Aidan

  • Thanks OP - got 2x eSims for Japan

    • +1

      Hey @monty168

Awesome! Thanks for the purchase, and reach out any time if you need some help ❤️

      -Aidan

  • Hi, are the US sims shaped after you reach the data limit? If so, at what speed?

    • +1

      Hey @Orgazmo

Which one are you looking at? I can confirm for you.

      Most shaped speeds are 0.5mbps.

      -Aidan

      • 10GB. 30 day

Is it also possible to stack the referral bonus with this deal?

        Thanks

        • +1

          Hey @Orgazmo

Sorry, no other discounts are stackable with this deal.

You can still, however, send your referral code to friends and family to earn $5 cash for every purchase.

(You'll be invited after your purchase)

The 10GB USA eSIM will stop working after 10GB of use.
The 10GB physical SIM card also.

          -Aidan

  • Hi @SimsDirect, I am planning a trip to Europe mid- September. Is it possible to get a code or extension to purchase and activate the esim?

    • Hey @smarter_fool

I've DM'd you a code for later use!

      -Aidan

  • When do the Indonesia SIMs need to be activated by?

    • +1

      Hey @JHoliday

The time frame varies but it will be 12 months +

      -Aidan

  • Amazing timing as I'm going to Canada in a couple weeks, just bought 2! Thanks!

    • Hey @isaachary

Epic! Thanks for the purchase :)

Reach out if you need anything!

      -Aidan

  • Those are great prices! I'm looking to buy four SIMs for a trip to Canada later this year (and possibly one for SE Asia). How often do you do sales? Shame I can't jump on this deal before it's expired.

    • +1

      Hey @Berick

We do our best to keep things affordable while also supporting our team!

We do different types of deals all the time (that you can find on the site); however, we do storewide discounts a couple of times a year.

I've DM'd you a code to use later!

      -Aidan

      • Wow, thank you so much! That's very generous and I appreciate the expiration date as September is when we're looking to travel 😀

        • 👍

  • I'm off to Sri Lanka and Thailand for March and April with my iphone SE 2020. Do you have an esim for this?
The difficulty with '6 (or 12) (South east or) Asian countries' is not knowing which countries are included.
A country list would be handy.
All the rest of it, including your popularity with OZBers, is great!

    • Hey @anthony t

For country lists, just jump onto the product page, and you'll find it under 'coverage'.

For Sri Lanka, we do not have any eSIMs. Only Physical SIM Cards (Just search Sri Lanka on site and it'll bring anything up that works in Sri Lanka).

Thanks for the kind words! Let me know if you need a hand with anything else!

      -Aidan

  • hey Aidan,

i am using google pixel 6 plus and planning to head to Japan in early may.

question is, when should i activate the sim? when i landed in Japan or one day before i fly to japan?

    • Hey @donny donny

You can do either. It's up to you!

I advise people to just wait until they land.

      -Aidan

  • I'm trying to purchase 2 unlimited Esims for Asia. The code isn't working :(

    • Hey @Chandr3w

The store is 25% of automatically at the moment.

So no need for the code :)

      -Aidan

  • Hey OP,
Got a sim or eSim that will work in New Caledonia and Vanuatu ?

    • Hey @ozzieozzieozzie

      We do not, unfortunately!

You might have to wait until you land and get something locally.

      -Aidan

  • Cheers @SimsDirect, used in Japan 2018, Europe 2023, and now for the 2024 trip. Flawless service buying and using. Cheers

  • when is the last day of the sale?

  • Hi guys,

Glad you guys are still kicking after COVID. :)

I'm looking to buy 2x Europe Unlimited 21 day eSIMs, but the 90 day expiry is going to be missed by 3 or 4 days. :(

Any chance I could request another 25% coupon to extend sale a few days for later use please?

    Much appreciated!

  • Literally just back from China, first time using an eSIM.
Once I got my big dumb head around turning on the roaming because of HK-based SIM it worked great. All of my Google services operated well, so did Alipay/Weixin.
Only advice I would offer is figure out how much data you need then go up. I am a light user (I went for 3GB/15 days) and literally hit my warning as I was having a snack just before my flight home. Next time I will double that

  • any deals coming up OP @SimsDirect ? TIA

  • I have used Simsdirect, many times, always had a great experience, I hope you guys keep going strong, thanks
