Even though 2024 is a leap year, you can still use some old recent calendars this year and the days will still line up, specifically calendars from 1940, 1968, and 1996 will still work. So save your $3.99 and look through the piles of junk in your garage for one of those.

If someone's keeping an old calendar from 28 to 84 years ago in their garage, it's probably time to clean the whole garage and seek help for hoarding…

      very ozbargain comment this one

Just print a calendar for free in that case.

Today I realized I was born in a leap year year.

Years divisible by four are leap years of course. If you were born in 2000 then you might be pleased to know that years divisible 100 are not leap years, the leap year is skipped on those years, unless that year is also divisible by 400 then it is a leap year. This all keeps the calendar in alignment with the actual orbit of the Earth around the sun because an orbit takes about 365.24 days rather than a clean 365. If leap years weren't added every four years, and if three leap years weren't skipped every 400 years, then the calendar would slowly go out of alignment with the seasons.

        • I've never stopped to think about it, well, not the dividing side anyway. I always knew the point X amount of days was why there was a leap year, like everyone, but I never stopped to clock (heh) the division.

This is one of those many things I'm going to try to remember, but unfortunately slip right out of my brain never to be thought of again.

    • Great. Time to pull out my 1968 calendar.

    • Use a 2018 calendar for Jan-Feb (add sticky note for 29th Feb), then a 2013 or 2019 calendar from March.

What I do is check the check the calendars next to the leap year
      https://whencanireusethiscalendar.com/
      2023 can reuse 2017
      2024 (beginning) can reuse 2018
      2025 can reuse 2014
      2024 March-Dec can reuse 2013, (checking 2013, it matches with 2019)
