    3800R?

    • +2

      Almost flat? :P

      Most curved monitors are 1800R

Just sit 3.8 m away, problem solved, thank you for contacting Kogan support

      So Which One? 1500R, 1800R, or 3800R?
This is very subjective and there’s no single answer. If you want an aggressive, more accentuated display curve, then get an 1800R or a 1500R, even a 1000R if you can find one. That kind of curvature is more likely to give you the much talked about “immersion factor”, especially in gaming.

As for 3800R and ultrawide, those are awesome for a combination of massively wide screen real estate and a slight curve that better accommodates natural human viewing.

In summation, if you want a curved, non-ultrawide display then 1800R is ideal. If you do want ultrawide, then 3800R is by far the most popular choice, and for good reason – it’s a comfortable and impressive middle ground between size and curvature.

"so only really suitable for office work." - huh? 60 hz monitors are perfectly fine for gaming, it's what the majority of gamers use.

      Huh?

      • -3

What's hard to understand about what I wrote?

        • Because it's incorrect? The only people really choosing to play games on 60hz panels are console users

          • +6

@ldd-mn: The majority of gamers are casual and couldn't care less about 120hz.

            • -2

@Mondorock: I guess you're correct then, considering a lot of those are playing on their phone

            • +2

@Mondorock: Casual gamers aren't buying a 49 inch monitor though, the gamers who are would expect more than 60hz

              • +2

@lookingforadeal7: given this isn't a gaming monitor, and is actually a productivity monitor i'd say casual gamers are way more likely to be buying this..

            • @Mondorock: Coz they care about 240hz rite 😎🙏

  • Too much wide

    • Its a matter of taste. I have a 49" G9 here and also two 27" monitors. I prefer the two 27" tbh even though they are about the same screen real estate

      • Could you comment on what the reasons or justifications that you prefer two 27"?

I got 2x 27" for office. The only concern is that when I share my screen via Teams with 49" Ultra wide. (I want to share screen, not screen a window)

        • I dont use the G9 for work its for my own PC. I use the 27's for work. I tried to use one big monitor but you are forever resizing windows and it drives me nuts.

I also dont love the curve, I would rather two screens pointing towards me. My setup though has a lot of screens on my desk so may be different to you (I also have a 40" tv above my 27's lol.

Sharing screens is a pain for other people (you have to tell people to scroll to where you are all the time etc). This can be avoided with some 49"s - the G9 you can do two inputs so you can make it effectively two screens.

@Franc-T: You can just share the app instead of your whole screen? If you are jumping between different apps then that makes sense sharing whole screen. More fiddly unsharing one app to then share the next one.

            • @ryf: You can probably draw a marquee and share whatever is in the area, I'd think.

Of course, you never know with teams, it's ahh.. bit janky

            • @ryf: Yes you can do a lot of stuff, but I find its simpler using two screens.

        • I have 4 27s at work (3 in a row, 1 above sitting on the pc case which is directly behind the middle monitor) and I used to have the samsung CRG9 (49 1800R) at home and I'd have possibly used it over the 3 monitor setup. The lost resolution would have probably been an issue over 3 but for 2, without question, I'd take the 49. However, that curve on the kogan one is very slight. I'm now at 1000R on the samsung 57 and I'd say that funkiness in terms of skew withstanding, more curve is better.

Really, my only gripe with the 49s are that they truly accentuate the quite small vertical size of the monitor. It's not any less vertical than a 27 inch monitor but it really tends to show. The 57 is only a few inches taller, at best but it really does help to reduce that feeling.

60hz , Would be good to play factorio on

From my experience with other Kogan monitors, please don’t buy. Very flimsy construction and it’s bound to break within 12-18 months. I had to go through more than 6 months of follow-ups to get my refund.

I'd be embarrassed to admit spending $800+ on a Kogan monitor.

    • Ive had a couple, and whilst I dont mind a small risky purchase….$800….yeah nah
