FLICKRFOREVR2FLICKRFOREVR1

Part of Flickr's 20th birthday celebrations.

There is also an option for a one year subscription for US$64.75, usually US$80.99 (use the code 'FLICKRFOREVR1' instead).

Unfortunately it does not appear that this deal is available to existing Pro users which is frustrating.

    Flickr is still a thing?

I found it useful for searching for photos that were taken with a specific lens. It shows the type of photos that are possible with that lens, and what settings the photographer used. Helpful if you are learning about photography (as I am). I haven't put any of my own photos on Flickr, but once you start taking some nice shots I can see why Flickr would be attractive as it displays your photos in their full glory (unlike FB for instance).

They are also good guy internet citizens who host one of the biggest free to use image galleries -

        https://www.flickr.com/commons

When smug bought them they also allowed a lot of legacy accounts to stay on and kept hosting all their commons licensed images too. They seem to be steering pretty well in fighting copyright trolls and other bad actors. As compared to some places like insta or, even say, Adobe, or most other places that basically make you sign over the lot, it's pretty user rights friendly.
