HAPPY12

Just found this promo code this morning HAPPY12 when I was booking my trip for a cruise to the USA. The price was quite good compared to the others and even covered COVID-19 for Cruise on Top Cover. What is great with the influx of COVID-19 now overseas?

Code WW20ENTB still works for 20% off

    • Yeah, dunno how this is a deal.

If they do 25% off again it'll be the appropriate deal to post.

They're pulling a scam with that code. 4 hours ago with no code I was quoted $212.16 and now using the code I'm quoted the exact same price. Different networks too so it's not cookie related.

    • yep still works tried just now thx

James Bond riddle? Batman wants to know is it helicopters?

How do this mob compare to Tick (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/819310). Everyone seems to have horror stories, so hard to know which ones aren't going to be a hassle if needed to payout

    • +1

They generally all payout in cases where they're supposed to payout, otherwise you have an easy case with the AFCA. The problem is people assume they are covered for things when they didnt read the PDS before buying and then complain when they realise theyre not covered for something that happened.

    • I've used Allianz twice
      - repatriation business class flight for a broken leg (NZ)
      - Bali belly medical costs

      Paid out within 2-4wks

Shop around before purchasing - e.g. Insureandgo, Tick offer better limits for the same price with discount codes. Codes are listed on ozbargain.

    • Sure but if they are more likely to deny your claim then the limits are moot

      • I have claimed with Insureandgo, but not with tick. Hard to know, because for every nightmare story there's another where it was smooth sailing.

But this is ozbargain, so presumably people care about price and are savvy enough to decide if the savings warrant going with a certain company or not.

  • Is that cover much better than default covers provided for free by platinum/signature credit cards?

  • Stay away. They are shit company. Pay little but extra and have ease of mind

Who would you recommend? (genuine question!)

      • SCTI

  • Do they cover trips to Israel/Middle East?

  • did a quote with this mob and SCTI

    W2C Top Cover $122.00 ($200 excess) or $132.26 ($100 excess) - includes 15% coupon code
SCTI Single Trip $86.99 ($250 excess) or $96.66 ($100 excess)

    both include Covid cover.

the SCTI appears to offer the same level of cover (if not more in some instances)

this is not financial advice but an observation from doing quotes for a hypothetical trip.

always read the PDS to make an informed decision.

    • Read the SCTI PDS regarding preexisting medical conditions, my understanding is basically anything you've seen a doctor about in the last few years they consider a preexisting condition, and you also have to list and pay for all those things to have any cover for anything related to them. I really don't like this part of SCTI's cover and it really kills it for me. It's a shame as they have the best cover for airline fault delays/cancellations.

  • as soon as I match benefits eg. unlimited cancellation costs + cruise etc + $100 excess
    W2C - $328
    SCTI - $735

FWIW - Have just got back from a trip. Currently have an unfinished claim in with W2C. They want 10 business days to reply initially. Then ask for more documentation and want another 10 business days to reply. Waiting waiting …..

Just had a look at their feedback. My experience with this site it's generally where people go to blow off some steam but it doesn't make me over confident with my current claim. https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/world2cover

  • and on top of my post above I just received a text saying W2C will be another 10 business days assessing my claim. If they are go to their timeline it will be 6 weeks!
That's just helped me make a decision not use them for my September trip. Insure and Go via Topcash looks to be a good deal.

ps - just spoke with World 2 Cover and it's "just their process of asking for a document and then you re-joining the end of the queue" :(
you have to push hard to get anything better than that. I did. They agreed to have a decision in the next 3 - 7 workings days. I told them in I haven't heard in the next 5 days that I'll call back for another chat ;)

  • I know this offer is closed but I'm adding updates as W2C aka World2Cover are still dragging out my claim. This claim is now 6 weeks old. It is a small claim (less than $1000). They have all the paper work and still need more time to assess. By comparison, I had a claim with Allianz ($3000-4000) 6 or 7 years ago and the claim was submitted and paid with 3 days!!! Lesson learnt. I going overseas twice later this year and as you could guess my travel insurance is not with W2C.

  • and the sting in the tail from their assessors -

excluded - "surfboards, snowboards, sailboards and boogie boards, and Valuables including drone and radio-controlled/remote-controlled model car, vehicle, plane, boat and the like whilst they are in use."

in the fine detail, I crashed my drone …. they're not paying …. how ridiculous is it that they will insure the valuable but once in use all bets are off :(
